I really like the second pair, but it's hard to tell seeing them floating in a void rather than on your face.
- josh neff, geek at large
yeah I am hoping to find similiar styles when I sit down at a local place. Crossing my fingers I can get away with the birth control type.
- aden
The first pair. I think the second pair might be too "heavy" looking. Plus I like the little dots (sparkles?) in the corners on the first pair. And I like brown better!
- Rochelle
I like the second but in black. The second are a bit heavy. The first remind me of my favourite pair of glasses ever (that I lost).
- joey
I'd have to see them on you, but I lean toward the first.
- Jim Misses SP
first pair. something tells me the second would not be flattering AT ALL. but an in-context shot would be helpful.
- Joe Silence
Depends on the look you're going for. The brown frame is softer and approachable (friendlier). The black frame is bolder and more of a statement (harsher). I've had one guy return to my practice 25 times over the course of 2 years still undecided and then he brought his wife, mother, father, mother-in-law, grandmother, grandfather and dog before he could decide. Naturally they all had a...

- Jeunelle Foster
is it too late to weigh in on this? I like the top pair. where are you going to get them? i need to find a place. I have my prescription but haven't been to order glasses. :-(
- Paulette Garcia Morris
I am not sure yet, still need to set up an appointment. I plan on going to some place in Pville.
- aden
I am. Its been a while since the bionic GI tract has had something that hot & spicy. (yeah,I prolly just set a bunch of y'all up there - go for it)
- Mary Carmen
You mean they aren't all the same thing? /ducks
- Alix Whitmire
Come to Poland for the "Big Four" concert this summer and seethe differences/similarities for yourself...
- Aron Michalski
from BuddyFeed
i would go to that big four concert, already seen 3 of them touring together, but throw in metallica (with new bassist) and i'm good to go (thanks for sharing)
- chaz2b
So I just tried to make some Mickey Mouse Pancakes for Alix... putting in Peanut Butter Cups in for the eyes, nose, and mouth.... it ended up looking more like The Joker...
Two Christmas gifts. Can you tell where the second one is? Also, having Blu Ray discs before the player is kind of like being all dressed up with no place to go.
Oh, I definitely plan on getting a PS3 when I get back. There was just no point in getting one here in Minnesota and then schlepping it back to Chicago via Greyhound.
- Jon, the Chilled Beartato
How about having Blu-ray movies, a PS3... and no HDTV to watch them on...
- Shawn Whitmire
Let's see...I like them, so yeah...it makes sense you wouldn't. LOL Is it a texture thing? Or is it the fillings? FWIW, I can't deal with Texan tamales.
- Admiral Anika
It's a taste and a texture thing, I can't stand either. The tamales that Joel's family makes aren't Texas tamales, I'm not sure what they are.
- Michelle Martinez
I know some places around here make them...weird. Like they're grainy AND soggy. GACK! And then there's the weird fillings. I feel so prissy sometimes when I have to ask them how the chicken is prepared. Some people put the chicken in tomato sauce and then stuff that in there and that's just gross.
- Admiral Anika
DO ANYBODY NO WHY MICHELLE IS REBELLING AGAINST HER HERITAGE?! :P
- JA Castillo
Acquired taste, I'm the only person in my family that can stand the taste, and sometimes I can't eat a whole one.
- Jimminy Fuller
I agree wih the good & bad tamale comment. I had a bad tamale a few days ago and it almost ruined the rest of my dinner... fortunately I had enough good stuff to go with it.
- Shawn Whitmire
I've eaten it out of a can and liked it ;)
- Rodfather
Well, no one is perfect, Michelle. :D
- Steven Perez
Pics of Tamales will be forthcoming later tonight.
- jamar78
What about chinese tamales? They're the bomb. In cantonese, it's called joong.

I'm not sure that I'd for sure name it best (it's kind of unfair to compare all different sorts of TV shows together in one category), but it's certainly the one I return to over and over and over again. (Too bad not all of the seasons were of equal quality, though.)
- Spidra Webster
Part of the impact of West Wing was the marked contrast between Josiah Bartlett's administration and the real-life version under Bush and Cheney.
- Mark "DerBingle" J
That may account for some of its popularity, Mark, but I think West Wing was popular for what marks a lot of Sorkin shows: excellent dialogue, fantastic mix of comedy and drama, supernal ensemble casting...and the extra for West Wing was being able to geek out over all that governmental stuff. The dialogue was so thick with it that repeat viewings reward you. Takes several times seeing an ep before you really feel you've gotten everything out of it.
- Spidra Webster
Without looking at other answers: Homicide, particularly the first year.
- AJ Kohn
First season of Miami Vice... unfadeable baby!
- Adrian
The West Wing was so awesome I remember bit characters. Like the guy in records or something who had the best line ever. "Well you're a strange little frumpy man, aren't you?" Of all the series I've loved, this one lasts the longest.
- Heather
People are so serious about their TV! People are yelling at me on Twitter, too! Geez. LOL

None of the above. But. Mad Men is climbing the charts fast. Still. WW is in the stratosphere, and nothing will touch it.
- Christopher Galtenberg

I've been watching it again on DVD. In fact, watching it right now... Jean-Paul just spiked her drink, Tae Diggs is talking to a bunch of folks about to get it... uh oh... aaaaand.... poor Molly...
- Ken Sheppardson
Plus most of the rest that ya'll listed. Good picks! :-)
- Mathew A. Koeneker
better than TWW: Arrested Development, Futurama, Veronica Mars, The Simpsons (uh, stopping somewhere between end of season 9 and season 12 at the latest), 30 Rock, Community, and Newsradio. Action, Pushing Daisies, and Life, too if we can sneak in those shows that were "cancelled before their time". Buffy up to S5 but not past it. Esp considering the relative doldrums of TWW s3 - s6.
- Andrew C
That's easy, 24 and X-Files are far better. :-)
- Kol Tregaskes
Guess I'm just one of those peeps who think the west wing was boring. Couldn't get through an episode. Was more interested in ER at the time.
- Jon, the Chilled Beartato

Rome series 1, BSG reimagined, Sportsnight, Buffy, Farscape, Magnum PI, Red Dwarf, Thundar the Barbarian, Underdog, M.A.S.H., Password, What's My Line?, I Love Lucy, The Carol Burnett Show all rank pretty high with me. I'm sure I missed some. Loved West Wing in doses, but it became taxing for me to watch.
- Michael W. May
West Wing is a tough show to compare shows to. As far as must watch TV: Damages, Flash Forward, Rescue Me, Dark Blue, Fringe, Lie To Me... This would be easier if I was near my DVR!
- amarquart
The West Wing might be my FAVORITE series but I think the BEST series was The Wire.
- Akiva Moskovitz
Good show, but best ever? Don't think so. The Wire and Rome, for instance, are way better. Heroes Season 1 (only), Kings, The Black Donnellys, Babylon 5, New BSG before season 4 are some more. Andrew C names a bunch more that I agree with.
- Chieze Okoye
Buffy the Vampire Slayer. (sorry, @Ha3rvey.)

Nobody's mentioned The Greatest American Hero? *sings* Believe it or not, I'm walking on air. I never thought I could feel so freeeee-eeeeee-eeeee!
- Jason Huebel
I've never seen West Wing, but that's how I feel about Six Feet Under.
- Alix Whitmire
ditto what Alix wrote. and I'll add The Wire.
- jbrotherlove
"The West Wing might be my FAVORITE series but I think the BEST series was The Wire." - Akiva
- Mona Nomura
West Wing is a great series. Period. BUT NYPD Blue was better.
- Louis Gray
The Prisoner (the original 60s series, not the remake).
- Parody
I saw a clip. It showed a person being cowed into standing for the president. That was enough for me.
- SuezanneC Baskerville
What does cowed into standing for the president mean?
- Mona Nomura
intimidated - one is "supposed" to stand up when the president enters a room, at least according to the show. it's a statist ritual, like singing songs of praise to governments. i find it offensive.
- SuezanneC Baskerville
Respect != intimidation. Besides, what's wrong with showing respect to ranked officers? POTUS is the Chief of Staff.
- Mona Nomura
I got the Wii version for the family for Christmas, looking forward to trying it. :)
- Gunny doesn't side-hug™
Gunny! Shawn got 133,600 BOTH TIMES. I scored 94,100 then 116,400. I don't remember what we got the last two times we've been, but I'm pretty sure I'm improving.
- Alix Whitmire
My accuracy is always better, though. :D I want a Wii mostly for that game. Well, at the fitness and sportsy ones. But mostly TSMM sold me.
- Alix Whitmire
Hubby and I were 19 and 16 when we got together.
- Alix Whitmire
hmmmm im 18 now and i just could not date someone that young...i know its only three years, but its a BIG three years in my eyes. but i'm glad you two worked out =]
- Marissa
It was love at first sight - I didn't know his age before it was too late. :D You just never know what's going to happen. The guy before him was 6 years older! But yeah, together 11 years, married 9 (in a few days anyway). The difference doesn't seem so much at 28 & 31. :D
- Alix Whitmire
Doesn't this break some age of consent law? No wait...
- Helen Sventitsky
I was taken advantage of. My innocence was lost. And I dont regret it for a moment. :)
- Shawn Whitmire
Helen, IIRC, Texas was 17 or within 3 years of age, so it was okay, no matter what HE says. ;) It was just a few months before 17 by the time we got to that stage anyway. :D
- Alix Whitmire
Which captain of the starship Enterprise would be the perfect match for WorldOfHiglet? [for reference: Pike(1), Kirk(1), Harriman, Picard, Garrett, Archer, Pike(2), or Kirk(2)]
Sheesh. Added Harriman. I am obviously not geek enough.
- Mistletoe Glen
Why isn't Cisco on the list if Janeway is? She was never Capt. of the Enterprise either. Lt. Castillo could be on the list since he did take command of the Enterprise after his captain died.
- Joe Pierce
Glen, let me know when the thread has deteriorated to point where my Stubing and Kangaroo suggestions can be added again.
- Christopher Harley
I've heard of moving the goalposts, Glen, but you surely win the biscuit in the 'how many times can I change my original question' contest.
- WorldofHiglet
And - Wesley (when he's all growed up)
- WorldofHiglet
I have not had fresh tamales in a loooong time. Sounds yummy!
- Shawn Whitmire
I don't think queso is strictly tex-mex because I've had mexican food in other places with a different kind of cheese sauce - here's it's generic orange cheese glump but I've had great white queso before
- Andrizzle Gizzle
I've had Mexican food my whole life, growing up in San Diego but I've never had queso until I stepped out of California.
- Derrick
Given the opportunity, I would dip tamales in queso. That is all.
- ha3rvey (Ho)^3
Queso is both wonderful and evil. Wonderful because it tastes delicious, evil because you end up eating way too much.
- Haggis (Sean Loyless)
I dont know whats worse... the elation and subsequent disappointment of thinking you had found a hidden Christmas Gift that had been found because you found the awesome hiding spot.... or the realization that I did not actually give a Christmas Present I picked out and now have no use for because my wife's loving friends decided to give the SAME gift to her since she didn't have it.
- Shawn Whitmire
*peer* I still have one of the bottles of the last time I went "what the hell" and bought a couple of bottles of $2.97 wine... what is that? looks like Asti...
- Michael W. May
I think it's just Welch's Sparkling Grape Juice. Shawn was amused that it "Was $2.98 - Save even more $2.97." I didn't see any $3 wine when we were there - I might've grabbed some. :D
- Alix Whitmire
haha, I didn't even see the "was" price. oh, yes, big savings :P
- Michael W. May
I like to hear extreme opinions just to see where I stand.
- ashish
I don't tune in to Fox "News" (I refuse to put those words together without the quotation marks) because I can't afford to by another television just now.
- Mark "DerBingle" J
Of course not, because they say they are fair and balanced! How dare you suggest they are biased?! /sarcasm
- Rene Wirtz
I wouldn't say it's news... more like conservative commentary - MSNBC is liberal commentary. CNN ??? - the only 'News' I trust is BBC and the news shows on NPR. Those at least are following legitimate standards for reporting news.
- Jason
Its only Bias if it is different from your opinion. Otherwise its truth.
- Uncle CW™
I find all of them biased. Some less and some more. They show bias by only highlighting one side of story.
- Vipul Rawat
My boss made a statement that he only watches Fox News instead of "that biased crap on MSNBC." I learn more and more everyday about why I cant stand him.
- Shawn Whitmire
+1 C.W. They have the best format. Subscription numbers don't lie. I question everything the media says regardless of its origin. Critical thinking skills are important :)
- Eric Logan
I think people know they're biased but underestimate how biased. People like to choose a middle-of-the-road position. They look right, look left, and choose someplace in the middle. Fox News exists so that when they look right, they see something way far right, to make them think that middle-of-the-road is farther right than they are now.
- Bruce Lewis
Don't get me wrong. I think they are horrible company and should not be named news. They agree themselves that they are mostly with opinion shows. True news is unbiased showing both sides letting you decide what may or may not be true. I only see few journalists doing this now. No one company is doing this though. Fax News does feed the entertainment for a percentage of the population. This is hows they are able to keep going.
- Uncle CW™
@CW I see the argument about them being entertaining...
- Bindu Reddy
I think Bruce's explanation is pretty complete.
- j1m
I don't watch any of the US cable news channels, as they're all full of biased partisan bullshit.
- Ian May
The Daily Show did a hilarious deconstruction just a few weeks ago of FN's bald-faced lie that its bias is only in the opinion shows and the straight news part is straight news.
- Andrew C
The mind is the greatest cage ever built. If you absolutely believe something is truth, it is.
- Mo Kargas
MSNBC has Maddow, Olbermann, and Schultz, for three hours of liberal programming. They also have three hours in the morning of Joe Scarborough, for three hours of conservative programming. And this is the liberal channel!
- Andrew C
One doesn't get much factual news from US Cable news, so I don't bother with it. I'm not interested in either right wing or left wing 'opinions' or bias at that time. I want to get the available information, and make my own judgement. Thing is, the cable news channels are effectively preaching to the choir in any case. Most people believe what they choose to believe to fit their already established beliefs.
- Ian May
And, for the record, I like mine without alcohol. The idea of alcohol in egg nog is rather gross to me.
- Akiva Moskovitz
Ditto the no alcohol and eggs, Akiva. I read somewhere about making french toast with egg nog, think I might have to try it.
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
I'll be seeing Trans-Siberian Orchestra Sunday. How's that for Christmas Music?
- Gunny doesn't side-hug™
That's kick-ass. That's what that is.
- Josh Haley
Now that Thanksgiving is over, I'll be getting out my Temptations Christmas CD! "Hey hey hey hey Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer (Eddie Kendricks high tenor)... Hey RUDOLPH! (Melvin Franklin's bass)"
- Mark "DerBingle" J
I have an admission to make. I /hate/ Christmas music. There may be something wrong with me.
- Jason Huebel
Mr Hanky's Christmas Classics FTW! Last Christmas I played it when my in-laws were here. FIL thought it was hilarious, MIL wanted it off, LAWLZ.
- Mellissa
I hate commercial Christmas music, but I make a game of trying to listen to every presentation of the Hallelujah Chorus on TV, and I sing along every time.
- m9m, Crone of FriendFeed
I cant start until the week of Christmas. It comes from years of restaurant work and having to listen to Christmas music 8--12 hours a day for over a month at a time...urgh.
