Reading Exec Summary of "Caregiving in the US." Fascinating data. Scary too. http://assets.aarp.org/rgcente...

GRRRRRR. So frustrated with the incompetency of so many "professional" caregivers.
Ahah! @caregiving It was YOU you wrote "Remember Your Future." That one gets printed out & re-read! http://www.janenation.com/sisterh...
RT @JaneNation Are you a Caregiver to a loved one? Remember Your Future: http://www.janenation.com/sisterh... [I like this VERY much!]
Heart-wrenching time with her during her first night there. She kept pleading to go home...
Yesterday Mom was moved from hospital to residential care. I didn't know until I got to the hospital and found someone else in her bed.
Tough times in hospital for Mom: Her glasses have disappeared (probably via a sticky-fingered roommate) and now has a loud, angry roommate.

Happy Thanksgiving to my American cousins (in Kentucky, Florida and Ohio) and American friends all over!
Brother-in-law Phil, nephew Jamie, grandnephew Sam coming to see Mom in hospital today. Takes all day for a 1 hr visit. Love them for that!
Puckering up now for "Kiss a Caregiver Day!" ... http://www.caregiving.com/ ... thx @caregiving
@caregiving Agreed! And actually Sundays & Mondays are my "weekends." Alas, the guy at the door doesn't know that! ;-)
Self-care feels good. I asked a friend to be the "Designated Daughter" today ... & visit Mom in hospital. Thanks, Carolyn!
Tender, funny story about a Mom's "Fashion Statement" ... http://momsbrain.wordpress.com/2009...
@caregiving Laughing as I'm reading #8 in that Gratitudes list ... it's 10 am Monday, me still in pj's and doorbell just rang!
Today Mom didn't recognize a lovely woman who she'd seen weekly for 3 years. I wonder if/when there will be a day when she doesn't know me.
Mom's Long-Term Care Mgr says she is "too compromised, physically and mentally" to come home. I agree completely, but feel sad for us both.
Bernie Siegel is such a lovely man. Reminds us we will have "lousy days" as a caregiver ... "Forgive yourself." #carecalls
Very excited to be listening to Dr Bernie Siegel. His work was so helpful to my sister in 1989 when she was fighting brain cancer #carecalls
Day 6 in the hospital for Mom. Although she asks daily to come home, she actually seems quite cheerful there.
@AgeWiseLiving Gd talking to you on phone today, Barbara. Becuz of our common experiences, I feel as if we've known each other a long time.

@deb231 thanks for thoughts, prayers & hugs, Deb!
My guilty secret: It's stressful when Mom's in hospital, but easier than caring for her at home #caring
Another ambulance trip to E.R. this morning w Mom. Looks like a small stroke.
Thinking about my Dad on this Remembrance Day. He was with an RCAF bomber crew in WW2, flying out of England. It's a wonder he survived.
