6AM. Merry Xmas Australia :)
Thanks Gu :) - SHHHE from email
Jeremiah Owyang
Experimenting with peoplebrowsr. Chockfull of features --but VERY confusing, what problem are apps solving? (Friendfeed is opposite)
That's why most people won't use Twitter apps, they are too hard to use - Shawn Hickman
Friendfeed is dead simple, like Apple or Google. Perhaps TOO simple. Peoplebrowsr has too many features. Makie it easy - Jeremiah Owyang
I agree... very heavy and clunky. - Drew Lucas
I would say most people find FriendFeed confusing too. They don't even know what aggregation is. - Shawn Hickman
Yes, overwhelming at first. Try starting in Lite mode to check out basic features. Then switch to Advanced for more. Then to Business mode. Keeping my eye on Tweetdeck and Seesmic developments, but peoplebrowsr ROCKS. - Denise Aday
Thanks Denise! - Jeremiah Owyang
The mob mentality is pervalent in all forms of social media because people are more willing to surrender their individuality to collective wisdom or popular fervor of the crowd. - Eric Schwartzman
Denise, I agree for the most part, especially for Twitter. The ability to see threaded tweets, save drafts and schedule tweets is awesome. I think the Friendfeed and Facebook implementations could be improved. - Joe Bonner
I recently tried the peoplebrowsr web interface and it was useful for me to just set up columns. I have performance issues at home with AIR apps so I didn't want to get hooked on Tweetdeck or Seesmic. The basics of setting up groups was pretty clear but many other things were confusing. Started with the "lite" version but quickly had to move to "advanced" or whatever they call it, in... more... - Laura Norvig
@Eric wrong thread? - mjc
Thanks Jeremiah, Denise and Laura are right! Have a go with the Lite mode and see if you like it. Also, why don't you have a play with http://search.peoplebrowsr.com/ for a very clean interface? We're always here to help, if you have any questions and we take feedback as gold. Working on making PeopleBrowsr easier to use and feature rich at the same time - big challenge. Your comments help a lot. Thanks again :) - SHHHE

When I logged in to PeopleBrowsr (http://www.peoplebrowsr.com/) today I saw this startpage. Never seen that before. It looks like Peoplebrowsr will expand and launching new services. Cool. Find more info about Peoplebrowsr here: http://www.clipotech.com/...
login_peoplebrowsr.png
The problem is that I can't log in to my peoplebrowsr anymore.... Don't work.. - Svartling
Ok. Now I came in. Wonder whats going on? - Svartling
They have a new URL for the service: http://my.peoplebrowsr.com/ - Svartling
Has PeopleBrowsr's FriendFeed etc support ever worked? Those buttons have always been unclickable for me. - Martin Bryant
What do you mean by "Support"? PeoplBrowsr works great for friendfeed, twitter, RSS feeds and much more in real-time. - Svartling
It's my favorite social media client. - Svartling
See a screenshot here: http://friendfeed.com/svartli... - Svartling
It's only ever worked for Twitter for me. The other buttons were always unclickable. - Martin Bryant
Friendfeed and all the other services have worked for me for at least 3 months. Probably longer. - Svartling
Martin -- That's just for logging in. Once you've logged in using your Twitter ID, you can then add your FriendFeed, Facebook, and all sorts of other accounts and make stacks for them. - Grey Drane
The "NewsRoom" page is potentially really cool, but I find that it only underscores the need for more intelligent topic tracking and tagging for the statstream. Most of the words in the hourly lists are totally useless. - Grey Drane
Yes, it's only on the login page. When you logged in you have all the features. - Svartling
I never used the "Newsroom" Sounds cool though. - Svartling
Posted about NewsRoom here: http://friendfeed.com/peopleb... - Grey Drane
Cool! Thanks! - Svartling
The NewsRoom feature must be heaven for people like Robert Scoble :) - Svartling
Does someone understand the new Newsroom feature is in PeopleBrowsr? - Svartling
Newsroom allows you to browse trending topics (big box over the top) - When you click on a topic, posts containing that keyword populate the first box on the bottom of the page - You select the posts you consider interesting (click "Publish") to "create" relevant news to share with other Twitter users - It's like creating a personal filter about a live trending topic. hope this helps! Cheers! - SHHHE
Pri(SHHHE)lla -- It's the "share with others" bit that we can't figure out. Are we missing something? Also, have you seen this other thread? There's more discussion here: http://friendfeed.com/peopleb... - Grey Drane
I've done all that you say, but how do I share my stack? - Svartling
Sean McBride
The best news distribution platforms on the planet in order of value (according to me): 1. Feedly 2. Peoplebrowsr 3. Google Reader 4. Friendfeed.
I would say: 1) Google Reader 2) FriendFeed 3) There is no #3. - Louis Gray
Louis, what about Posterous? - frank barry
No Twitter? - Brandon Mendelson
Posterous and Twitter are included into the ff stream. - Jim Braux-Zin
Twitter, Facebook and Yahoo! News. :) - Dare Obasanjo
The line above is a test. Twitter Search is somewhere in there. But if we are talking about distribution, one should really start with e-mail. - Louis Gray
Feedly makes GReader more useful...too bad it's locked into Firefox though - .LAG liked that
Louis -- I think of Feedly as Google Reader PLUS -- and that is a very big plus. Do you perceive any advantages of Google Reader over Feedly? I can cover much more ground more nimbly with Feedly compared to GR for the same unit of time. (I subscribe to over 1,000 feeds). You may well use these tools in ways that I haven't imagined. - Sean McBride
Sean, it depends on your use case. I like Feedly a lot and was the first to write about it. But I use Safari instead of Firefox, and am not going to switch browsers for one service. - Louis Gray
Brandon - Peoplebrowsr is Twitter PLUS -- and that is a very big plus. - Sean McBride
My main beef with Friendfeed: no list view, no mark as read (and therefore too much noise). Two issues that would be extremely easy to fix. But it is still a great news distribution platform, truly revolutionary. - Sean McBride
Ah -- the browser issue; got it. - Sean McBride
How's PB doing these days? I'd gotten tired of waiting for it to get out of alpha and switched to Tweetie for Mac. I'm also not crazy about running it in a browser window and both the Air and Fluid.app options for PB are less than ideal. I did like a lot of the functions PB offers, but wish I could find a comparable native Mac app. Maybe Nambu, but that still needed some maturing last time I checked, too. This is all a little off-topic, but other than this, I'd pretty much agree with your ranking. - Grey Drane
Grey -- I just took another look at Peoplebrowsr yesterday, and it finally clicked for me. It's operating on all cylinders. The design is elegant and slick, despite the wealth of functionality. (There IS a learning curve on customizing it to one's tastes.) - Sean McBride
Sean -- Cool. I'll have to give it another look, then. - Grey Drane
Five or six years ago I used email heavily for news gathering, using various subscriptions and news alert services. Now my use of email for that purpose has dropped to near zero -- much too clunky and inefficient. - Sean McBride
Friendfeed, memeorandum, Google News, Skygrid, and Feedly are my faves. - Robert Scoble
The deeper powers and virtues of Feedly only become apparent after heavy use with a large feedbase -- one can easily navigate across one's entire collection of feeds in complex and swift ways that Google Reader can't begin to match. The conceptual design of the Feedly interface is really stunning. - Sean McBride
Feedly rocks no doubt. I never go into GR now. I love that Feedly keeps adding features that make it even more useful. - frank barry
PB does have a more mature feel now, but seriously, STILL alphaware??!!! What's up with that? Pull the trigger already, devs! - Grey Drane
Robert -- I didn't mention Google News because I feed Google News searches into Feedly and Google Reader; for me, Feedly and Google Reader subsume Google News. Have to take a look at Skygrid -- hadn't heard of it. (You may have meant to type Google Reader there instead of Google News.) - Sean McBride
What I like about the current Peoplebrowsr: 1. no desktop app required (except my browser) 2. tons of valuable functionality 3. many of the function buttons are hidden until one hovers over them; not too cluttered 4. feels fast and zippy 5. easy lateral navigation through stacks with left/right cursor keys 6. pause button, mark all posts as read, wipe read posts, resume flow 7. various... more... - Sean McBride
Sean -- Do you use PeopleBrowsr for FriendFeed, too? Or just Twitter? It seems buggy and generally not great for anything but pure Twitter statstream. My FriendFeed "Home" feed gets all sorts of excess junk in it, just for one example. - Grey Drane
Grey -- I am only using Peoplebrowsr for Twitter -- looks like you've bumped into some alpha-style problems around the Twitter edges.( I would love to see Feedly take on the challenge of fully and optimally integrating Twitter into its interface model.) - Sean McBride
Sean -- Yep. That'd be the way I'd like to go, too, for news anyway. - Grey Drane
Sean -- BTW, what are some of those high-quality Twitter feeds you follow? I'm following a few, but I'm not sure how many I'd call "high-quality". - Grey Drane
Grey: We'd love to know more about issues that you have with PeopleBrowsr's FriendFeed support. We are improving all the time, and need (and love) the feedback. Thanks! - guruvan (Rob Nelson)
That said, the reason i started using (and subsequently joined) PeopleBrowsr, is because of the ability to watch large numbers of streams simultaneously. When used in conjunction with FriendFeed's website, I think it's an incredible way to absorb large amounts of news very rapidly. It's been invaluable (for me) in determining the veracity of sources for news from Iran. - guruvan (Rob Nelson)
Grey: a few Twitter feeds that I've found to be valuable: Antiwarcom, alleyinsider, amnesty, atul, bbcpolitics, bbcscitech, BreakingNews, CBSNews, CFR_org, cnnbrk, cqpolitics, dailydish, DavidCornDC, DemocracyNow, dorait, EFF, foxnew_pol, FP_Passport, Gizmodo, glenngreenwald, guardiannews, guardiantech, haaretzonline, harpers, huffingtonpost, HuffPolitics, infowarsstories,... more... - Sean McBride
Sean: I wonder if you have all those added to a group in PB, and if so is it public? - guruvan (Rob Nelson)
Rob -- I will look into doing that. I take it that you work for Peoplebrowsr? - Sean McBride
That would be awesome :) (and you can also pass out a link to the group stack - non PB users can just use the link to get the stack w/o logging into PB - just use the export at the bottom of the stack) - guruvan (Rob Nelson)
Yet another great Peoplebrowsr feature! - Sean McBride
Tiny Peoplebrowsr features that make a big difference: for instance: the count of new tweets at the top left corner of stacks, and the countdown as they enter the stack. I now feel like I have some control over the deluge (particular in combination with Pause, Mark all posts as read and Wipe read posts). - Sean McBride
Rob -- OK. I've just joined the PeopleBrowsr group here and will be posting some of my experiences there. - Grey Drane
Sean -- Thanks. I'll check some of those out, but if you do get them all into a public PB group, let us know! - Grey Drane
Grey -- do you have any Twitter feeds that you especially value? - Sean McBride
Thanks Sean and Grey for the great comments! Love reading you guys. Here are some PeopleBrowsr videos: Lite http://is.gd/IMI7 Adv. http://is.gd/JfGU Business http://is.gd/JfIa - SHHHE
SHHHE -- these links demonstrate that videos are often more effective than manuals and books for getting a quick handle on new programs. - Sean McBride
Sean -- I've only just started following news feeds on Twitter, so there aren't any that I "especially" value yet. I still get most of my news there from the actual people I follow, which is a valuable resource in itself, of course. That said, the Telegraph's feeds are the one's I seem to notice the most in my statstream, but I don't actually click through to (or retweet) much of their content. - Grey Drane
TweetTabs. It is rather auckward that you need to click on the favorites. But a good real time news as people type. - ThinkEzy
Penny
YAY!!! We are going to have Nachos for dinner!!!!
*dances* - Johnny
*does the running man* - Penny
*drops parachute pants* - Johnny
*falls on floor in massive coughing fit brought on by laughing so hard at that image!* FTMFW! I haz tears Johnny, TEARS!! - Penny
Love nachos :) - SHHHE from PeopleBrowsr
So you really are "Naaaaaaaaaaachoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Penny" For the moment at least. - Tony Miller
It still gets me how I can talk to people who are at the same time just having dinner, just waking up, and me here just staying up way too late. 2:53 am for me atm. You'd think I'd be used to it now after 13 years on the net. - Tony Miller
The funny thing is Tony... Nachos is appropriate for all those times :D - Johnny
Yes! Ah nachos, how I <3 you. Also - closing time at the zoo for me! Next stop - supermarket for nacho ingredients! - Penny
Actually - just thinking Johnny ... maybe not nachos for breakfast ..... but that might just be me .... - Penny
Reheated taco mince + cheese + salsa + corn chips + hangover = WIN - Johnny
SHHHE
much better than the pink! (pink is kinda skerry) ;) - guruvan (Rob Nelson)
lol - This is to encourage you to create your own design :) - SHHHE
Robert Scoble
Twitter (and all social networks) will never be the same thanks to PeopleBrowsr - http://scobleizer.com/2008...
I really like Peoplebrowsr and think it fills the gaps so many people have been whinging about. - Nicola Quinn
PeopleBrowsr FTW, that's for sure - Sociosophy Reviews from twhirl
No breakthrough:( - YaDuMMeR
It's very nice. Kinda reminds me of TweetDeck in the presentation. Now they just need to expand to some more of the social services. - R. Alexander Spoerer
I know its alpha and all that but it seems wildly over-hyped to me - Trevor Cook
Remember the scene in "Big" where Tom Hanks keeps saying "I don't get it" to the toy presentation? Well, "I don't get it". - Chris Stevenson
You can *tell* (ask?) it to refresh every X minute but it, uh, doesn't. Pondering. - techPR
I am still yet to check out PeopleBrowsr - Joe Dawson
I like the idea but found that the UI still needs some polishing. - Davide D'Incau
Still needs work. I see the value in it, but it is slow...and odd to add panes. - Kreg Steppe
Geez, and I thought FF was overwhelming when I first signed in... - ronin
The really need to work on some of the usability / features around the non-twitter services. - Chip Childers
I just tried it out. At first glance I don't see any value here. Then again I don't really use Twitter very much. I couldn't find any interesting FF integration and got nothing from the Flickr integration. Maybe I'm just not using it right though. - Thomas Hawk
They need to pare down the number of features - much of what is there outside of twitter offers little to no clear value. That said, the twitter stuff has potential. - Andy Roth
Their UI is action packed and they have some great ideas implemented for grouping and messaging. I could see it being useful even if if you're not a power user. - Thropic
This looks fantastic! Thanks for the heads-up! - Flora from twhirl
Had a try with it this morning and it reckoned my name on FriendFeed and Flickr was Mohamed. Very strange... - Martin Bryant
Lovin' it so far - Charlie Anzman
I love the search feature, grouping, bulk messaging and the richness of user profiles. Definitely a fun app to hang out and explore in. - Maria Sipka
I loved it the minute I saw it... impressive concept, design and functionality. Needs on-screen UIX helps so users can easily navigate - too complex. I am very app savvy and had a hard time getting my way around ALL the features... I think I've got about 70% covered. The panes are a "pain" to use - Susan Beebe
Chokes on my primary browser. Not a fan of Flash. Seeing what other networks other people are on is interesting, although if they're on FF, then you can see that already. - Victor Ganata
great for alpha release...performance a little slow, but I like the concept - Tom Mack
I do like it, but the group function did not function as I expected. I tried sending to a group, but it just created a bunch of twitter messages with @ signs and just a part of my message. Will have to play a bit more. - Kenley Neufeld
Great interview, Robert. I'm excited to try this service. Is it something you're using on a daily basis? - Devon Campbell
Nice job Video man .... :) - Charlie Anzman
Cute, but slow and clumsy interface - Nick
Not impressed. Confusing and hard to use. Keep it simple. - David Jacobs
It definitely has potential, but at this point it has a clumsy UI and some performance/stability issues (understandable in an alpha). Does anyone else agree that it is just plain hard to beat the simplicity of the FF RealTime UI for following and participating in conversations? - Robert Clockedile
...Perhaps FF should just let us drop our other social streams into the RealTime interface. Add cross-service posting, a la Posterous or Ping.fm, and that would be the killer app - Robert Clockedile
Thanks for all the comments re PeopleBrowsr. Great feedback. We are working on UI and performance. And we improved the Groups feature. We use 'Live' tweets and messages from our Google Group http://groups.google.com/group... to shape PeopleBrowsr in real time. The Alpha Release is updated every day. Very welcome all your ideas. Thanks again - SHHHE
Xander Robar
I am loving PeopleBrowsr! They mix up FriendFeed, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, etc. into a single interface. I can send timed messages to my feeds, group users (that are on different mediums) and send a message to a group (again, the same message goes to users on different services/mediums). Awesome! - http://peoplebrowsr.com

Aldon Hynes
@rahsheen I've started using PeopleBrowsr as my primary social media interface
WoW Aldon, this is huge. I'm delighted to hear this. Cheers. - SHHHE
Chris Messina
Its weird, but looks nice. - k00pa
Thanks Chris, happy you like it. - SHHHE
I have no idea if I like. I haven't tried it. I DON'T like that it asks me for my Google password, though. So first off, FAIL. - Chris Messina
lots of passwords are needed to integrate apps into your various views... OpenID is soo need on these apps - Susan Beebe
Chris, the Gmail login is just one of the options, you can login using your Twitter authentication, if you prefer. Cheers! - SHHHE
@Susan: they really need OAuth. OpenID helps, but for sites that need remote data (not just identity), OAuth is necessary. - Chris Messina
@SHHHE You're missing the point. I don't want to give PeopleBrowsr ANY of my other passwords! How do I know that I can trust PeopleBrowsr? - Chris Messina
Chris, completely agree - we avoid collecting passwords unless there is no other option. We require your Twitter password to authenticate with Twitter. You can add Fl, YT and linkedin without giving us your passwords. We are building a special GMail feature that will be released in a few weeks, will take down the GMail logon until then. Agree re Oauth. Thanks very much for you feedback. - Jodee Rich

Who needs a blog anymore? PeopleBrowsr stats for tonight after only being on Twitter and FF: http://twitter.com/WingDud...
I know it's Alpha but how do you get your other IDs beyond Twitter (Facebook, FF, Digg, etc) to display info? - manielse (Mark Nielsen)
Found my answer but these are pretty Hidden features. Only found by accident, an average user will struggle with this right now. - manielse (Mark Nielsen)
Found the full screen with the tabs across the top for all networks, nice - MedicalQuack
The world needs a screencast of PeopleBrowsr because a laptop's acreage is way too limited. - Bernie Goldbach
Hi Barbara, where did you find the full screen with the tabs across the top? Was this on peoplebrowsr.com? Thanks a lot. - SHHHE
Mark, to add more IDs, you can click on 'Add IDs' on the bottom of the page. Cheers! - SHHHE
i can never get the thing to work, won't even log in... you think they started "promoing" or whatever a little early?? - Terry O'Fee
Terry how is it going now? Are you using FF3 or Safari 3.1? Thanks for your help. - SHHHE
ff3 - to be honest ive never used safari.. ill give it another try, thanks.. - Terry O'Fee
Thanks Terry, FF3 should be fine :) - SHHHE
I tried PeopleBrowsr but couldn't figure it out. - Brett Nordquist
I'm using FF3 here (- it's all I use, except for testing work.) and it's fine. - Ian May
Hi Brett, could you tell me a little bit more. I would be very happy to have you on board. - SHHHE
Ian, so happy to hear that! - SHHHE
testing peoplebrowsr.com in Google Chrome Browser and .... is working ! - Rocky
Sucks on the Eee :( - Bec Rowe @d0tski
@Rocky I was just testing it in Chrome and it wasn't working for me. But it worked fine in Firefox 3. - Mathew™ aka Youngblood
Wait, I take that back. I just tried it again and it worked fine. Great! - Mathew™ aka Youngblood
I'm so happy to hear this, Mathew. - SHHHE

PeopleBrowsr is a very early tech preview (alpha). Not working very well. They will launch next week. More here: http://friendfeed.com/e...
Nice app with great potential!! Really, really like the design concept here...very solid utility - Susan Beebe
I'm playing around with it now. Quite nice; has great potential. - Brent Newhall
Yeah! it's not working very well! Waiting for better version! - netvista
The streams are still separate. I'd like to see an option to interleave FF and Twtr and Identi.ca. - Cliff Gerrish
Yes, that would be perfect. all in one window, tied together. but a database nightmare, I imagine. - Karoli
Separate streams are a nightmare from which I'm trying to awake. - Cliff Gerrish
Hello Everyone, it's great that you want this feature! It's coming up in the next weeks. Thanks for the amazing feedback. - SHHHE
There's something very important I forgot to tell you. Don't cross the streams. It would be bad. Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light. Total protonic reversal. - Ken Sheppardson
Actually, it looks like you can mix it up. There's a MIX button that allows you to choose which services you want to mix in. Still kinda sketchy, but it's a foot in the door. - Cliff Gerrish
Cliff, you're ahead of us! You got it, that's exactly what I was talking about. - SHHHE
Nice, so let's work in some de-duping-- oh and track. And then you'll be running along side FF. And that level of competition is a real good thing. - Cliff Gerrish
Cliff, you're very kind. De-duping is in the radar, we are working on it. - SHHHE
Cliff, you can track. Create a stack, Eg: Twitter/Everyone, search for a keyword in it and let the stream play. - SHHHE
I don't really want to cross the streams. - MiniMage, enterRUPPted
MiniMage, the mixed stream is just one of the options, you can use the separate streams, if you like them better. - SHHHE
Excellent, I was hoping it would be optional! Thanks. - MiniMage, enterRUPPted
I've just started using it, and it's quite amazing. i think it's found most of my other accounts, I'm just having a little trouble with one. Somw of the twiitter feature are really interesting. What is meant by mixing the streams? - Michael Fidler from twhirl
Michael, 'Mix' builds a stream combining posts from several social networks. - SHHHE
Lots of bugs to work out, but I am definitely into the concept ... good stuff! - Nadine Schaeffer

It would be FAR better if it was an AIR client - Dennis Howlett
Mo: Jodee is a standup guy. He'll be here soon to answer questions. Directeur: it's an operating system for your social network. :-) - Robert Scoble
Robert - this looks EXACTLY like what we talked about a few months back when you and I met up with Tim and Brian to talk about mioNews. Pretty cool, just wish it worked in Safari :P - Patrick Lightbody
Dennis, it would be FAR^34 better if it was a "normal" desktop app - directeur
Dennis: gotta start somewhere. They respond to feature requests VERY fast. Patrick, yeah, very similar to what we were talking about, isn't it? A lot of what I asked Jodee for showed up here. Lots of little touches. - Robert Scoble
top notch stuff. Unfortunately I have to agree with Dennis re: AIR client. Even so, a remarkable interface. - phil baumann
I'm just hoping it withstands the load. - Robert Scoble
At first pass, the interface seems pretty weak. Slow, kludgy. - Aldon Hynes
OK, after the obligatory 30 second look, my findings are: this thing is buggy. I can't really talk - I'm sure many of my projects give that same first impression! - Patrick Lightbody
Aldon: yeah, it's slowing down already on my system. It's doing a LOT of work behind scenes. - Robert Scoble
It's a little slow from here in Aus, I assume it's just my connection or Scoble-effect load. Interface is very nice - Mo Kargas
Mo: I think it's the Scoble effect. It loaded fine for me 30 minutes ago, now it's crawling. - Robert Scoble
I have no idea how to sign in to this crap. I think it's cuz I'm too busy watching Criminal minds...LOL - Rah-PM 2012

yeah, pretty slow.. idea looks good tho - Bruno Panara
Just a reminder, they are calling this an "Alpha." - Robert Scoble
Rahsheen - click the twitter icon in the center to get started... then you'll see - Susan Beebe
This app looks really great, thanks for sharing Robert! - Susan Beebe
definitely on the blink...but that's to be expected - Zee.

Robert you've GOT to stop doing this, it's 3:32 in the morning here and I actually unpacked my MBA to check this out now...lol - Gaby K. Slezák
Made it to email confirmation screen. Now seeing the main screen. - Dave "Freedom 35"
Bob Blunk: yeah, I will back off of hyping it for now cause it can't deal with the extra traffic. Very slow here. I'll get Jodee to show up here as well. Probably shouldn't have launched the day before Thanksgiving. - Robert Scoble
looks promising...i'll have to check back later when everyone and their dog aren't trying to get on... - Trent Olson
If there's one feature I would like Twitter (or third-party) to have, it would be the abiity to see which tweet you sent that someone is replying to. I had someone reply to me about something I said a week ago. I did not remember what tweet she was replying to. - Dave "Freedom 35"
Guy Kawasaki told me this afternoon that he would rather have his Twitter account than his cell phone (and is betting Mike Arrington $1,000 that he can do without his cell phone for a week to back it up). Now you see why. No blog required. Oh, and this will never even get on TechMeme because it's too lame to look at hot FriendFeed items for tech news. - Robert Scoble
I think we broke it. - Jim Williams
Jim: I'm going to upload my Broadcom videos. Maybe that'll help it regain some footing. :-) - Robert Scoble
What day do you think is best to launch a software product? Aside from yesterday, of course... - Prolific Programmer
Hello! Thanks Robert for this post. Thanks everybody for using PeopleBrowsr. We are delighted to have you all on board and we must confess that we were not expecting all this traffic today. We know what is slowing down the system and we are working to fix it. Thanks for your patience. The correct link to PeopleBrowsr is www.peoplebrowsr.com. The PeopleBrowsr Team. - SHHHE

SHHHE (Priscilla) - Love your PeopleBrowsr app ... nice job!! :) YES there is definitely a "Scoble Effect" and this is NOT the first time! LOL - Susan Beebe
Karim: Blame Scoble™ - Robert Scoble

If you like this video you should watch the one with Matt Mullenweg at http://www.fastcompany.tv -- first part is up and he was awesome. Talked about the future of blogging (he is the guy who did Wordpress). - Robert Scoble
They just wrote me and said that they won't do a beta launch until next week and are working on some performance issues (obviously). So, this is a cool very early sneak peak. See you next week when they push out a new code base. - Robert Scoble
Hey, just noticed that they have a Facebook app for PeopleBrowsr too! http://www.facebook.com/apps... - Susan Beebe
Hi again. We just fixed the performance bug and the system should be faster now. Thanks again for your support, Everyone. - SHHHE

Ehi Everyone. Our Facebook App has not being released yet. Wip: will keep you all posted. - SHHHE
Connection to YouTube is insecure. YT whines about it, but lets it go through if you allow it. Still, c'mon, if there's a secure way to do it, as YT suggests, why not do it that way? ... Also, Upcoming support doesn't seem to work. Won't link up with my user name, nor the ID number. - Chris Charabaruk
Chris, very good point about the YouTube connection. It's something we are working on and it will be released next week. - SHHHE
@SHHHE Good, sooner the better. Likewise, whatever's got Upcoming all bugged out. I'd complain about the slow speed too, but given what I'm using it's 70% likely to be this computer that's causing it to be slow for me. - Chris Charabaruk
Looks like crap on IE. - Paul Whitaker
PeopleBrowsr has been built to be used on FF3 and Safari 3.1 and it needs broadband. - SHHHE
IE is crap! - Prolific Programmer
Not the best of choices. After all, IE is still tops for browsers, whether we like it or not. - Chris Charabaruk
Not according to my analytics...LOL - Rah-PM 2012
At last a web app that actually likes Safari. Ha! - Tom Landini
@Rahsheen Unfortunately, there are more mouth-breathing IE users than intelligent folks like us. I'd like to change that, but I can't think of any legal ways of going about and doing so... :p - Chris Charabaruk
Thanx Scoble...I'm curious, why did you choose Kyte instead of qik? - Anthony Farrior
Anthony: Kyte lets me record on a FlipCam and upload later (I can use cell phone, webcam, FlipCam, our HD cams, etc, Qik only lets me use cell phone). Also Kyte has better distribution/better player. Also Kyte has a better chat room. - Robert Scoble
I've been using this for a couple of hours and stumbled on some very useful features. A few seconds ago I finished watching your video, and I'm blow away by the potential of this app. It reminds me of a semantic Firefox addon called Headup, that has been inserted into a browser and spiced up with added communication features. Time to put this to use. Thanks again Robert! - Michael Fidler
hi robert, twitter had some database problems a while ago. What is the effect of peoplebrowsr on the loadavg of the twitter databases? I guess peoplebrowsr is going to increase server requests dramaticly. - Corné Wielemaker
Is it working? (not for me anyway, though it looks very interesting - Orli Yakuel
Orli, it's working now :) - SHHHE
Still not working. Is it crushing just for me? :-\ - Orli Yakuel
looks interesting, although what I dream of is contact synchronisation protocols - Iphigenie
Orli, it might be the browser you're using. I've just had to update Safari to the latest version. Gonna install and try again. - Nicola Quinn
Thanx Robert for the feedback. Kyte seems to understand how to edge itself out of the mobile video pack...Peoplebrowsr is cool, but I still need a reason to leave the friendfeed page. These apps are just trees whereas FF gives me the whole forest, imho - Anthony Farrior
I am all about the Real-Time FriendFeed sidebar in Firefox. http://bit.ly/mZLT Always open so I can see what's going on in FriendFeed while I use Google Reader and browse. All I need now is full Twitter integration (see my follows) in FriendFeed and an import box at the bottom of this sidebar and I'll be set. - Rolf Schewe
I just can't believe it, I remember from where I know this guy! He was hunting just about everyone in TC50 to give him the red chip! (I didn't even know it's worth it, heh!) - Orli Yakuel
Rolf: thanks for that link. Too bad you can't do sidebars in Safari. That might just be enough to bring me back to Firefox... - Costa Walcott
Indeed very cool, I just get Invalid Source when linking my Facebook account. :) - Daniel W. Crompton
Pretty cool - looks Scoblized though. But another tool for doing what FriendFeed is already doing? - Sean
Looks awesome but I wonder how they are going to keep service online. Yes, there are donations but is that enough to have things running? - Daniel Schildt
So far I don't see anything that'll move me away from TweetDeck, but I'll keep at it and see if something catches my eye - Bwana ☠
Looks cool, but I don't see it adding enough to move me away from TweetDeck - Don Campbell
I wanted to love this. But I didn't: http://news.cnet.com/8301-17... - Rafe Needleman
@Sean very Scobilized, indeed. But that doesn't mean it's not cool. - David
I agree with Rafe. I wanted to like it as well but I found it to be the equivalent of a social media bloomberg terminal. Too much happening, having multiple streams update with the same post, etc. Found it not usable. I rarely just sit in front of one UI and just watch scrolling updates like that where it is my sole focus. - Lou Paglia
Lou, thanks for your feedback. We are still in Alpha, working on the UI. You can do many things on PeopleBrowsr. Did you try the Search or the Groups functions? Very welcome your ideas: http://groups.google.com/group... Thanks - SHHHE
Is this service still available? I went to the URL but got a blank page. - B2B Specialist
The new version released today is even more awesome! - Svartling
