wtf? (I get the point of the site. I'm totally perplexed by the tweets)

The internet reminds me that I normally live in a bubble of politely sublimated racism, where we may all have racist thoughts from time to time, but we are ashamed of them. When Alex Scoble was talking about FUBU last week I couldn't believe the stuff that came up on a simple Google search for FUBU.

Well, this is certainly shaping up to be the week where I need to keep sharp objects and anything that can be used as a missile out of my hands.

Racism isn't fun even as a joke (unless it is clearly about racists)

One thing I'm curious about: where are the tweeters from? We're assuming they're in the US but maybe they're not. Not saying that racism is OK as long as you live outside the US, just saying that the concept of what is racism might be different outside the US.

Alan, I know they exist (I have relatives who prove me wrong every time I fall complacent and think racism is getting better). So many of the user pictures in the images look relatively young - and I know I fall into the bubble of thinking younger people are less likely to act this way. Guess I've been smacked in the face with it again.

Another situation where "like" should be "share" or some such thing. Everyone should see this ridiculousness, but hard to click like.

Tina, his user profile says he lives in upstate New York. As for the "concept of racism" being different elsewhere: vocabulary, maybe - I recently educated my parents on current US terminology - but saying that there are too many [Black people] on [internet service] is racist everywhere I can think of.

I just don't get this, honestly I don't... Why...
