OK, so you're all caught up. My thoughts: this is so gonna look like the original ending to the second season of SPACE BATTLESHIP YAMATO - everyone in the original cast, with the exception of a few, dies, but they complete their mission of finding a new home for the fleet.

ALL the good sci-fi shows are, at their heart, soap operas.

How they do it will count more towards how well the conclusion wraps everything up. I'm just worried that Sci-Fi will try and start a franchise from this show a la B5-CRUSADE.

Well, from what I hear, last night's episode had action in spades.

Yeah, a prequel. I'm not so much of a completist that I need the past told, though.

I don't think that the writing has dropped off too badly. If anything, the long wait between seasons heightened expectations to an insane level. Hard to top, no matter what the writers do. Still, in for a penny, ...

Wouldn't be the first time the writers yanked the rug out from under us.

Haggis: I read your comments in your post. Reminds me of BABYLON 5 way back when, at the end of Season 4, with three episodes left, I felt there was no way they could properly end the series, especially hen you consider that they were facing down cancellation. Not only did JMS and Co. tie it all up in three eps, they did so in a way that felt like the show could have ended at Season 4 and no one would have been slighted.

What I'm saying: stick with it. There's still a lot of story left and not a lot of episodes left. The ending probably won't be what you expected, but the show has been excellent from the get-go, and that's not something you can readily say about any show on TV now.
