"An emergency "Plan B" using the latest technology is needed to save the world from dangerous climate change, according to a poll of leading scientists carried out by The Independent. The collective international failure to curb the growing emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere has meant that an alternative to merely curbing emissions may become necessary."

Oy problem is, we're just as likely to screw things up. tinkering with global weather patterns seems like the perfect scenario for the law of unintended consequences.

NO... <runs screaming> We will F*** this up for sure. The environment is far too complex a system for us to mess with. We can't predict what will happen in standard weather patterns with any real degree of accuracy and we think we can go "manipulate" the global system to our desired result. Wow... now THAT is arrogance written large.

I disagree, Brian. A system as complex as climate can not only be messed up, but be messed up easier than we suspect.

Patient - Huh? I think that is what I said... that we can (and will) mess it up in very unpredictable ways.

Oh. In that case, I agree with you. (This cold medicine is awesome stuff, btw.)

No worries... I was there two weeks ago :)
