"While we're waiting for technology to catch up with our imaginations, there are easy ways to keep up to speed with the Olympics on your mobile. First, check what data charges you will incur by going online. Ask your network operator about a flat-fee tariff, and arrange a trial period during the Olympics to see if it's worthwhile. Second, make sure you're using a decent mobile web browser. We like Opera Mobile (opera.com/products/mobile) and Opera Mini (operamini.com) - these browsers have been built with mobile phones in mind, and accelerate the loading and display of pages, making them easy to navigate using your phone's tiny keypad." - Nuno via Bookmarklet
Great to make some of the data we have on mobile browisng public. - Nuno
i think France is the country missing here... noone talks about Opera Mini here... i'm like from another world when i use it while commuting... more publicity is needed on this market - Adarsh via twhirl
Hi Adarsh, you are quite right. We are pushing to get some coverage there. in the end a strong community of fans helps. I expect that we will be much more active in France in the coming months. - Nuno
Give it a spin. Quick Find is a killer feature, lets you look for sites in your bowser history based on the content, not only URL or site title. - Nuno
Very good story by the NYTimes. Interesting to see that with all the hype over smartphones the $50 phones will be the ones that will have the bigger impact in the world. - Nuno
Interesting post by Russell Beattie on closing Mowser and his learnings from running it. Interesting that we see Opera Mini's traffic growing more and more, what we are able to do with a client/server solution is miles ahead of server only solutions and the Mowser situation of low user adoption seems to confirm it. good luck to Russell in his new ventures, takes balls to go the ride of trying to make it on his own. - Nuno
go to the Twitter box and right-click on it with Opera on desktop, click create search and set a short-cut. I use "t" than i got to the URL field and type "t message" done:). Trying to find a way for it to work on Mini. - Nuno
duno why i thought u were talking about Mini is your tweet. Anyway, i've saved m.twitter.com/home as an offline page on Mini. So it's kind of a shortcut. - Adarsh
I found a way to add a search to Mini that you can use to pre-fill the Twitter msg box, you still need to press update after... been trying to see how to add a direct post to the Mini search box. - Nuno
WiFi and Opera Mini :) a true mass market phone (and cheap) with WiFi, I think this is a great move by Nokia to push better connectivity on mid/low end phones. - Nuno
