"Some of the shows were cool/funny. I enjoyed watching Aeon Flux late at night. The game show, Remote Control, was ok. If they had kept the shows to a minimum and made the channel focus on music, it would have been alright. But when they completely got away from music to show only television programming, well, it just became another channel - no longer a "music video" channel." - Shanna

"I want my MTV! It used to be so awesome when I was growing up. I had young, hip parents so MTV was always on in both TVs in the house (the one in the living room and the one in my parents' room where we spent a lot of time all just hanging out on their king-sized bed with Mom). Then, slowly, it became less and less about the music until it was no longer about music at all - just stupid TV shows. Then VH1 came in and it was pretty cool for awhile. It was no MTV, but at least it played *music videos*. Then MTV bought out VH1 and the music went away; insert more stupid TV shows. Then MTV2 was born; supposedly to offer the music that was lacking on the original MTV. Then, slowly but surely, it became nothing but a bunch of stupid TV shows. There is no true music video channel anymore. MTV died in the 90s." - Shanna

"What you say is true. If a man felt compelled to file such a lawsuit, everyone would be taking his side against what must be, in their minds, a "crazy bitch". A lot of people will read all of this and their first thought is going to be "she deserved it", and "she must be crazy - I bet she *was* stalking him!" In these stories, most people are quick to cast blame on the woman and think she is the unstable one. "As a woman who has survived rape, I find it unconscionable that you would even attempt to "play Devil's advocate" with such an issue. Women that exploit the system make it difficult for *all* who are truly brutalized sexually to be heard, healed, and helped.
