Robert is looking at Facebook status updates. I see a lot of my friends here. The rest of them are over on FriendFeed. Interesting to see who is on both.
do you have a lot of non-first adopter friends? i have mostly non-first adopter friends (actual friends) and very few first adopter friends (actual friends) and then obviously a lot of first adopter friends who are simply virtual friends. i can't help but think this community needs to start to think about the non-first adopter so we can try to break FF of 1/2M and twitter of 6M.

How many pending friend requests do you have on Facebook Robert as with only 5000 slots available you must have more requests than friends :)

I have about 60 FF buddies over on Facebook... fun!
- Susan Beebe
I'm only on FB for the people that aren't here.
- Jim Hearts FF
I have very few first adopter friends so I sorta just hang out and wait for them to join.

I am on both because my IRL friends are not going to be on FriendFeed or even Twitter for quite some time.

see, all my real friends/actual relationships are on FB...i dont know if it's b/c im younger (22) and i started as a non-first adopter like most college students (i joined FB in '04), but it's a total contrast to the FF and Twitter community. i think its funny most ppl here are like "ehh..FB, no big deal, it's all about FF"...well, yea...but the mainstream (skewing younger) is on FB, not FF

both, but don't use them the same. Facebook works better for me when it comes to family and RL friends.

A lot of my real life family and friends are on FB so am stuck with it, but hell it is more fun if you know people personally on there.

My Facebook [and LinkedIn] friends are mostly people I used to work with, people I went to school with, folks I grew up with, some of whom I really just want to keep up with at arms length. I don't necessarily want to see what they're thinking every minute of the day, nor do I really expect them to care what I'm thinking all the time. I'm fine if there's very little overlap between the graphs..

Facebook subscriptions work quite well, but they lack too many services, notably Twitter. Until they add it, my Facebook profile is full of repeated updates because I publish my Friendfeed status in my wall too. Maybe if eventually Facebook buys Twitter...

I'm on both, but Facebook won't let me be your friend. :-( Care to kick anyone off so I can be your friend? ;-)

I use FB for my HS/College friends, who aren't as net/tech savvy.

I think the first leap for an FB user would be from using FB status updates to posting on Twitter. Then they could probably think about moving to FF. Most of my FB friends seem pretty content with FB's walled garden. I wonder what could compel them to jump.

I get more responses via Facebook - partly cos I tend to only friend RL friends I've met face to face there.

Too much information for my little brain.

Attention through Status Message Update (SMU) Through the Psychology of Facebook and Data Mining and Electronic Business classes at Stanford, I propose the term: Status Message Update (SMU). SMU is a unit and mechanism of asynchronous light weight communication distributed to an audience. SMU can be a currency and service, similar to SMS. Communicating "status" is essential to our most...

@stanleyyork I have 286 FB friends, which is a far cry from my LinkedIn list, and on Hyves I have another 180 reading my FF and Twitter updates. Few of them are early adopters, that doesn't matter. I posted a Social Media Syndication map yesterday, all my SM sites are linked to each other with multiple connection points. IMHO it no longer matters who is where, they can all be reached!
