I've had it happen twice. Once I walked up on the guy in the middle of it. I was alone, in a parking lot, at night. Fortunately, he saw me and ran. That was about 5 years ago. Great Scot! DMC announces all-electric DeLorean for 2013 - http://www.autoblog.com/2011...
Great Scot! DMC announces all-electric DeLorean for 2013
"Announced Friday night at the DMC Texas Open House, DMC said it plans to work with electric car startup Epic EV to get an all-electric DMC-12 into production by 2013. Epic is the company started by Aptera co-founder Chris Anthony that is working on the Torq and Amp vehicles (and some rather clever videos). Early reports say the Electric DeLorean will have a maximum speed of 125 miles per hour and offer 260 horsepower for something like $90,000-100,000. The gullwing doors should remain, but we're not sure where the motor will go (the original DeLorean used a rear-mounted engine), let alone the battery pack. This isn't the first time a DeLorean with an alternative powertrain has been talked about. Before his death in 2005, John DeLorean hinted that a hydraulic hybrid drivetrain might find a home in a relaunched DMC-12. That never happened, of course." - AJ Batac from Bookmarklet

Gents, if you had a need to quickly include suits, ties and etc. into your wardrobe, who would be your one stop? I'm looking at Men's Warehouse and JoS A. Bank as possibilities. I don't have specifics of what I'm looking for, just enough for minimal repeats in a two week period.
My lack of suit experience is limited so I have no idea how often you can wear the same suit in a week. And then there's the ties/shirts/etc. <sigh> - (Curtis) Alan Jackson
Indochino, Nordstrom Rack :) - Bren from iPhone
Chris used Mens Warehouse. They were really nice rushing on of the suits through the tailor. They also have free re-alterations (any seam they've altered can be altered again). Ties can be bought cheaper elsewhere I think. Best if you get them on sale, they add up quickly. Used would probably get you the best deal since ties don't get a lot of wear and tear. - Heather
When my husband had to convert from scrubs to dress/casual I purchased some nice ties on ebay. I had to build his wardrobe fast and we didn't have a ton of cash on hand to splurge at the time. He has since made Fridays "Tacky-Tie Friday" as something fun. - Janet
I bought my last batch of suits from JoS A. Bank. I really like them so far. I used to buy from K&G, but now I know better. Also, I'm buying ties on EBay. - Ha3rvey (on hiatus)
Bren mentioned Nordstrom Rack. I have bought most of my bow ties there. - Ha3rvey (on hiatus)
Thanks for the suggestions. If a job lead comes through, I may need go from zero to a lot in a short time. Of course, I also don't want to invest in something I might not need. :) - (Curtis) Alan Jackson
BTW: I'll put in a plug for the "Put This On" podcast and tumblr. Good tips there. - Ha3rvey (on hiatus)
I've done Men's Warehouse a couple times. The suits are good and they are helpful picking out all the matching stuff, but beware of commission sales. I ended up with a sport coat I never wear. lol - Eric
I used Men's Warehouse for my groomsmen. Worked out great. They did a fantastic job; everyone looked great. - Akiva
I'd go for Men's warehouse for suits, but ties/shirts/etc I'd go elsewhere. If you have a local Haggar store they tend to put stuff on sale (even online), or the local department stores when they have stuff on sale. I don't spend more than 20 bucks on a shirt if I can help it. - Sir Shuping is just sir
Go to a department store and look at the displays of matching shirts and ties. You can get coordinated very quickly that way, especially if you are starting from scratch. Very few places demand a "real" suit these days; a good sport coat will be handy most of the time. - m9m, Crone of FriendFeed
You may want to include Macy's and Marshall's in the mix, but Men's Warehouse and JoS A Bank are good options. - CarlC
Get dress shirts from Brooks Brothers, their sizing is really good and are comfortable (especially in the neck, when wearing a tie). Added bonus: BB sells shirts that need minimal ironing. - Andy Bakun
I have seen some beautiful ties on the Brooks Brothers website. I haven't bought any yet, but that's more about money than anything else. - Ha3rvey (on hiatus)
I'd say Men's Wearhouse (the way the chain is actually spelled, if you want to actually *find* them) for good quality:price match. Ties? Most anywhere that sells pure silk ties. And what m9m says about real suits. (As for good shirts that don't require ironing: LL Bean 100% cotton wrinkle-resistant. Not cheap, but really good.) - Walt Crawford
Another vote for Nordstrom Rack. Also H&M for some stylish one-off pieces. Do you have Filene's Basement out there? - Zulema ❧ spicy cocoa tart
Zulema, I'd have to look. I haven't a clue. - (Curtis) Alan Jackson
:) Filene's sometimes has men's suits on sale, two for one and the like. - Zulema ❧ spicy cocoa tart
I probably won't need nearly as much as I'm guessing (probably just shirt and tie) but I wanted to have at least a clue where to go. :) - (Curtis) Alan Jackson

Why is it that geeks who claim Macs are expensive spend $500+ on video cards?
Because they have their priorities straight? - Josh Haley
Because they can afford to? - (Curtis) Alan Jackson
Because for $1300, I can have a system with 6 cores @ 4GHz, a honking video card that can handle more than enough monitors, 3 TB of storage with an SSD as an application sector, 16GB of RAM, and more ports than I really need, or I can have a Mac. I'll let you decide which is better. - NOT THE CRICKET
What Jimminy said. Plus, I can swap out the video card every couple of years. Getting a new mac every couple of years is not in my budget. - Dario Gomez
I think many things are expensive. I also buy expensive things. Go figure. - Eivind
Jimminy, is that off the rack or do you have to build it yourself? - Johnny
Geeks who talk about the price of Macs don't understand why people actually buy Macs. - Heather
^ This. Why would I pay a premium for a machine when I can build a machine for the same cost that is so not a consumer machine that it would scare people to use it. You can build a drag car for tha same price as a people mover, but one is really shit if you're a soccer mom - Johnny
LOL. Jimminy and Dario aren't intimidated by building machines and using them, though. They clearly feel they get more for their money this way. I'm sure they'll be fine with someone else having different priorities. Relax :) - Eivind
But that's the thing, Eivind. The common situation where the phrase "Macs are expensive" is used is in relation to when regular users/people want consumer advice. Notice how Jimminy gave and uber example of what he could build, not a comparable machine for less? - Johnny
I think you read it through Apple eyes, Johnny. To me Jimminy is just saying how he'd rather spend his money. I choose differently, but I am not upset by his priorities :) - Eivind
Johnny, I could easily draw back on it, to comparable performance levels, and "sell it" as a consumer model for $300-400, before the OS bullshit. I understand the differences, and I would much rather use a Mac over Linux or Windows for development, the fact is I can't afford a Mac. - NOT THE CRICKET
Dell Mini 9 Hackintosh is how I roll when I'm away from my desk :) - Johnny
Oh and I forgot to mention, that that system should be able to boot OS X, in theory. You'd have to change the CPU, though, as it uses a AMD Phenom II x6. - NOT THE CRICKET
Of course I'd also call someone who spends more than $500 on graphics cards a dumbass, the improvement over second tier cards isn't as important as it used to be. - NOT THE CRICKET
Hey Johnny, I couldnt get much value from your hackintosh's evil twin. I had to slap windows 7 back on it. Even then, the screen is so damn small as the resolution so low, it's fairly limited for me. :p - Josh Haley from iPhone
I bought an iMac for the screen and because I'm using FCPX more. Let's face it, Macs suck for gaming and someone spending $500 for a video card is using the system for gaming. You can get a lot more for your money building your own gaming/video editing/photoshop rig. I wish I could build my own Mac so I could choose a video card instead of being stuck with a crappy mobile graphics chip. It'd be nice to have the best of both worlds. - Rodfather
I know I'm late in responding. I have built my own rig once. Not something I'll do again. I find it works out best if I get whatever computer is on clearance at fry's and then buy whatever discounted parts I want to upgrade on the machine. Macs are nice machines, but I like being able to swap out parts, and I like having my desk top at home. And I like having the nice video card. :) - Dario Gomez
