"i agree with everything you're saying, but the government have said they'll make unpopular decisions and this budget will be one... nobody wants pay cuts, but it's either pay cuts or job losses. i'm all for job losses to increase efficiency (provided it doesn't compromise a service) but cutting jobs is not good PR and will only happen as a last resort (after pay cuts). the government find themselves in a mess and it's one they've created. Increasing vat last year coincided with the UK reducing theirs which was an idiotic move at the time and highlighted the governments lack of vision and awareness."

"interesting post, but entropay now have an option for users to get a prepaid mastercard for £4.99... it costs 15c to transfer funds from your account on to the card (and they take 4.95% to load the account in the first place)... so bar the £4.99 one off fee, it's the same cost to use as visa electron and works out much cheaper than the rubycard. i agree with you though some of the fees are ridiculous and i'm not sure why anyone would use one of these cards for anything other than booking flights :-)"

"true, well there was always a small fee involved anyway with visa electron, but now with prepaid mastercards, we're talking about €13 for a card and then 75c per transaction fee after that... http://rubycard.ie/ do prepaid mastercards - ryanair accept them... i must actually create a new blog post about the changes and possible options..."

"Fascinating stuff... updated the video in the post above to full length zeitgest movie. The problem i have with religion is summed up nicely with your comment - i can't argue with any of it, therefore it's impossible for me to support religion based on sheer belief... I think you're right in that it's all metaphorical and extremely deep in meaning but then again we're sold it as fact in school which is the disappointing thing..."

"well we had the flights booked before the draw was made.. so it was a gamble that paid off but at 1c each way, we were never gonna be out much if the draw didn't go our way!!"
- Sean MacEntee
"of course :) hard to beat 1c fares ;-) although i don't like their style of doing business, i've never had any problems with them (yet)! if prices & flight times were the same, i'd be flying with another airline!"

"wish i knew the answer to that one myself! out of my control though - it seems feedburner haven't made up their mind whether to include friendfeed or not!"

"i don't love myself, i love being accurate and taking risks :-) the threat of failure inspires me to succeed which is why i'll often post predictions about the future / my future."

"cheers Sean! yeah i've had a good bit of interest so far, hopefully it'll continue :-) prices are in dollars because i'm just so used to dealing in dollars online - it's like the unofficial currency of the internet! i should have it in dual currency though - you're right, must get on it..."

"yes, but they should be a 'reward' for work... the problem is they're addictive and when you're working for yourself, there's nobody over your shoulder telling you to get back to work!"

"cheers enda! yeah it looks promising and several of the big boys have adopted it (e.g mashable.com) so it's only gonna grow in popularity!"
- Sean MacEntee
"absolute mess... i don't know what's worse... 'performances' like that or the fact that people actually pay in to see it and enjoy it?!"
