Increasing relevant content on your website is the first step to increasing your Google and Yahoo rankings. Before you start writing content, first do some basic keyword research using tools such as Google Keyword tool (URL: https://adwords.google.com/select...) and Word Tracker (URL: http://www.wordtracker.com/). Once you know how your audience is looking for your content. Write relevant content using such keywords/key phrases. Use these key phrases in page titles, content titles, and links within your site. Once your content is enhanced, then gather inbound links; it’s never the number of inbound links but the quality of inbound links you have. So ensure your inbound links are from quality sites. You’ll notice this will be a long term linking strategy. But if you do have relevant helpful content, this is easier to accomplish.

Get your feeds sorted out so you'e got timely news. Stick in an aggregator or two relevant to your niche. get an extensive blog-roll together, link to them, and send them each an email. And that's a start...

And of course, use google webmaster tools 4. have a lot of unique content and everything should be text! 5. use real a href-links and make a site structure so everything could be found 6. get people to link to it. Tell them you're there when you launch, when you have something to tell.
