With all this talk of FriendFeed de-throning Twitter as the social networking app du jour, I think it's important to consider that, as FriendFeed adds more features, it will quickly move away from the simplicity and free-form nature that everybody loves about Twitter. Thoughts?
True. FF should be very wary of succumbing to feature bloat. The trick will be to steer a clear path between twitter and facebook. - Andy Roberts
Won't matter at all if Twitter's *basic* features are always unstable/unavailable. - Brian Carter
FF has the right balance right now. But if they go for more, they should put serious consideration into how they will interface it and have a UX strategy. - Kit Krash
Don't change a winning formula, anything that points in a new direction could have the wrong impact! - Joe Dawson
FriendFeed is already more complex than Twitter, although more free-form by its ability to aggregate all kinds of RSS feeds. It's not fair to compare the two because FriendFeed is capable of much more. - Mark Dykeman
That is one of the reasons why both services can coexist. - Muhammad Saleem
Muhammed - right, but the general consensus around parts of the blogosphere is that people are leaving Twitter in favor of FriendFeed, which will put pressure on FF to duplicate many of the core features of twitter. My concern is that FF will, in doing this, suffer from a case of too many "features". Just my $.02 :) - Brett Kelly
I think it depends on what features are implemented into FriendFeed whether it will become bloated or not. - Timothy Neilen
very true but I think FF has actually added features that increase the value without cluttering things up too much. I love it...via feedalizr - David Jacobs
