The MPAA are way out of line here. Yet another organization that has no understanding of the digital age, and little ethics in how it combats the perceived threat.

I've been waiting for this one. The author f the Occam's Razor blog, highly advised reading, has just put out his book on analytics in the social media age. 100% of the profits go to charity as well, so this one is now next on my list.

Hi, Ellis— Let me introduce myself. My name is Gineen Klein, and I’ve been brought on as an intern to replace the promotion department here at Propensity Books. First, let me say that I absolutely love “Clancy the Doofus Beagle: A Love Story” and have some excellent ideas for promotion.

EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS: Brilliant examination of motivated reasoning: the tendency to only acknowledge facts that agree with one's position. Iraq and health care as case studies.

The Lord of the Rings airs in Tehran in an effort to keep people off the streets inadvertantly carrying a revolutionary message. Nice analysis!

From the page: "At a sometimes contentious Capitol Hill hearing today on the readiness of New Orleans' levee system, the head of the Army Corps of Engineers' Mississippi Valley Division told the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee that construction on a permanent solution for three crucial Katrina flood points has not yet begun, nor even been agreed to, because of bureaucratic red tape and disagreement among federal and local leaders over what more can and should be done to protect the city. An excellent extension to the concept of psionic tattoos, great game mechanics that allow you to duplicate psionic circuitry from the Illithiad. Great design work!

A UK researcher has spent years interviewing people about whether DRM has affected their ability to use content in ways ordinarily protected by the law. Surprise! It has, even leading one sight-impaired woman to piracy.

Thus begins a fan fueled odyssey starring faces from everyb incarnation of Star Trek. Solid writing that is more true to the characters than most of what has hit the screens in recent years. (Note: I have not yet seen the JJ Abrams version and have high hopes for it.) Nice CGI brings ships from every era together. Even though the effects are not as seamless as things like the new Doctor Who series they still work well. It is the delightful story that makes it such an outright winner. I loved it!
