I finally figured out how to fix a serious interface/workflow issue that I've been struggling with... Now I can sleep easier!
Working on a smarter search engine today.
Trying to figure out the best way to approach live video streaming in the classroom. Technically, works great.Practically, still struggling.
Improving search to include: Delicious, Digg, YouTube, Amazon Books, SlideShare, Scribd, Wikipedia, Google News, Google Blogs, Twitter, Ted
Working to build a class blog / podcasting engine. Things are progressing quickly!
Got the first prototype of the audio player to work. Just a little more vocal cord surgery and we should be good to go!
Making a pretty sweet MP3 player today and tomorrow. And also doing some neat MP3 conversion-type stuff.
Doing some interesting things with audio conversions.
The conference went well! Now, I'm working on building recommendation systems.
Ready for my presentation at NJEdge! I can't believe that I created 228 slides. haha.
Preparing for my NJEdge conference on social media. I've got 182 slides so far - still got about 30 more to go!
Who knew building a search engine could be so involved? But I've got a basic version working - still need lots of cleanup though...
Marathon coding... Feels good to get some of this stuff done!
Building a course search based on weights... seeming to be a bit more complicated than I initially thought. But it's almost there...
I'm reading 'Designing Social Interfaces' (an O'Reilly book). It's been good so far - I'm using it to design a better profile page.
Using the Flash Media Server to record audio. Check out our super simple prototype: http://www.socialsyllabus.com/voiceno...
Working to cleanup my implementation of TinyMCE. A bit tedious, but useful!
Need to build a class blog or something similar... I'll keep thinking about how this could work.
Working today to build in 'voice note' functionality. But this might take a little while...
Looking into Google Voice and/or Drop.io to allow students to 'call' a course on their phone and leave messages among other things.
RSS feeds for courses have been implemented. Simple, but sort of powerful.
I installed the wowza media server on Social Syllabus. It allows you to stream live video and record voice. Gotta keep working with it...
Finally... I can turn a powerpoint file (or any file) into a flash file. That's really good for us. http://www.socialsyllabus.com/materia...
Social Syllabus will be previewed at the NJEdge conference on November 18th. How cool is that?
Got some great things in the works...
