I'm sporting a female avatar at the moment, since i'm wearing every skin at least once and for machinima. I'm in a room right now being SERIOUSLY CROWDED.

Oh god now the begging for traffic begins "Come visit my club/coffee shop!!1!" Seriously, I hope they don't put in the rave/karma thing like Kaneva. RAVED U PLZ RAVE ME BACK. heh

I see this as good news for Google: it means that Lively is, since the begining, mainstream. The fact that you don't see (I guess, at least) those kinds of stuff in FriendFeed, for instance, is not a question of "target age", but more of "target" generaly. Friendfeed had "early adopters" all from tech backgrounds, and even now is used by almost only tech-related people. They reached "everyone" since the begining.

I actually wrote a huge post on another thread about why people don't 'get' it, because of the context, intention and effort required in a traditional medium. Dancing for the sake of dancing (in 3D) is not the same as a Warcraft character dancing, for example.

@marcos agreed, they, like IMVU, went mainstream first... I dunno, maybe it's that there are two mainstreams, the geek one which doesn't know how to unwind, and the mass mainstream that is okay with being cartoony. IMVU if you've spent time there is busy as hell, as are the 3948920348 other cartoony places. Maybe geeks are too good and too snobby for this. I say that HALF in jest.
