Great tips. I also like to remind people to leave the shades open to let as much sunshine as possible come in and help heat rooms during the day. If you have multiple zone thermostats then be sure you tune them to only heat necessary zones during day and at night. Keep fine tuning. - C.C. Chapman

I like the suggestion, that there is one good place (other than say an unused attic) to use non-smart light bulbs, I would hyperbolize that if you live in a mansion in alaska(near russia), hang a non-smart incandescent light bulb above your head, while you use the computer in your snow suit, and forego central heating, or even a space heater. - David Lynch
