Wow, whatever you do, don't google "Asian guys at beach licking" if you want to find the Flickr account for this. No, seriously. Just...don't. o.O

changed my life forever...I will always go to the beach with a a few chubby buddies after porking myself up for those bosoms ~ and this image is most definitely going in the ol' spank bank

Sir, randomly linking to your FriendFeed from one of my posts is oh wait you'll never see this because you're blocked for spamming. Thanks anyway, kaghazrangy.
- Akiva Moskovitz
damn this picture just won't go away - you have forced me to hide it
- William Harryman
Akiva, wasn't that pic taken at your last BBQ?
- Paul
Every time I see this picture I smile. Their joy is infectious, like herpes.
- Sparky
Paul, I surely do wish I had a beach in my back yard!
- Akiva Moskovitz
Sparky, I'm going to have this blown up to poster-size and attaching it to the ceiling above our bed. That'll cause some infections!
- Akiva Moskovitz
makes me want to grow a rack and diddle with my own, know what I'm saying?
- sofarsoShawn
this. . . .this. . . ugh . . . so fucking wrong.
- Peter Ghosh
Akiva - you can put anything you want above our bed.
- Sparky
i've been trying to formulate a comment for this for days, but i just...can't.
- joey
I still want to know the motivation here. is this a gay marriage argument? or are we already pushing group social contracts on friendfeed?
- Noah David Simon
oh man this one keeps popping up on ma friendfeed,....must spread virus nao
- Chris Hofmann
I'm surprised no one's noticed old boy's red-framed glasses.
- Akiva Moskovitz
oh right... the glasses are so important when three asian men are licking his nipples and all the comments are by people who think gay marriage has something to do with equality... when it has everything to do with taking protections away from children. the red glass glasses.... um yeah. chicken and Oklahoma with milk
- Noah David Simon
Mark, you have uncovered the dark underbelly of humanity except in this case it isn't dark but is rather a pasty hue somewhere in the vicinity of undercooked flan.

This should be in the default noobie FF stream. Like the first thing anyone who signs up sees. If they stick around they're part of the family.

i think if you unlike and delete all your comments anna it'll go away, but hide in general would be nice too (this photo makes me smile every time it pops up so don't mind it)...

*sigh* This is never going away, is it? It's gonna end up like James Bond movies and Swedish meatballs - always existing in the same form. never diminshing, never forgotten. :( :( :(

It will go away, to be replaced with photoshops of the original. It's all part of the meme lifecycle.

You can't close this thread. A lot of people say that this place is a Scoble-fest but, truly, it is this thread that is at the very heart of FriendFeed.

I'm officially going to proclaim that this is the FF equivalent of Goatse or FFoatse if you will. Lets all refer to it as that from this point forward.

As much as I am loathe to bump this post, I have to do it to say, You, sir, are a master. Well played, sir. Well played. This is why I take every opportunity to say, in my next life, I want to be Akiva. I've already called it! Don't anybody go getting any more ideas.

The bumping algorithm includes things like novel people posting to it, in addition to thread age, and rapidity of comments. If the same 3 people are talking in a thread, it quits bumping because it's obviously a closed tea party.

On Fark, there was this one thread, that just kept growing and growing. On Fark, it was a single page per thread. And you could post images and gif inline. Well the thread wouldn't die, people just kept posting. I forget which one it was. Anyway, it got so monsterous, that few people going to read/post to it per day (which was only a handfull) accounted for 1/3 of the server load of the site. They eventually had to cull that thread.

I can like a song without it being a particularly _great_ song. Its a good song for dancing to. Worst songs? Nah, there are plenty more that are FAR worse.
- EricaJoy
Wait, why are you posting to FF? Aren't you in Jamaica? Get off the computer!

How do you dance to it? It has no beat! It's completely irregular and sounds like it was written by a teenager. I've heard Taylor Swift write more artistic stuff. It's just bad. :) And Rochelle, I can't give you guys too long a break from an inane argument...you'll go in to withdrawals and we can't have that. ;)

Saw Avatar with a few friends, in 3D. I think Cameron broke through the uncanny valley here. Immersive flick, but I wish he produced it at 60hz. 30hz sucked at times for the 3D, but good for the most part. Movie itself was really good
Wired mag has a great article about how Cameron waited 10+ years to make Avatar and did quite a bit to develop and fund the improvements in 3D cameras and CGI that brought it to this level. Seems like if he waited a few more years, it would have been even better. http://www.wired.com/magazin...
- Bill Strathearn
I think 30hz is the problem in some of the fast scenes. When stuff is moving around really fast, you can't focus on it because it starts looking like a series of random pictures overlaid on the screen. The PoV effect breaks down because there's too much of a distance between the frames. Note that they've also turned off any sort of motion blur. This gives some of the indoor scenes a weird, surreal sort of vibe. Overall it works more than it falls over. I flinched when something came flying at me once. :)
- Matt Mastracci
Cameron also recommends seeing it in IMAX. I wonder if that will improve the framerate problem or just increase the motion sickness and flinch factor during the high speed action scenes.
- Bill Strathearn
Enjoyed some scenes in 3D but didn't find it *necessary* for the story. Want to see it in 2D to see if the increased brightness and vividness make the landscapes pop.
- Sprague D
Salon said Cameron used different color palette for 2D and 3D I have not seen it looking for a 3D imax venue here
- WarLord
I saw it in "Real-D" 3D. Is that the same processing as IMAX?
- Matt Mastracci
from iPhone
The problem is, it's probably already rendered using temporal antialiasing (motion blur), so upping the frame rate won't really change the blur factor. If they were really slick, they could render at a much higher frame rate, and use post-processing based on projection system target to downconvert with motion blur, but I doubt they're doing that.
- Ray Cromwell
Matt, are you sure they turned off motion blur? I saw it on in the trailer sequences. Maybe the live video filmed sequences might lack it because of the 3D IMAX cameras?
- Ray Cromwell
I suspect that it was turned off for some parts of the live-action 3D version (or at least applied at significantly lower amount than normal). I remember seeing some distinct shapes that I couldn't resolve in 3D in the fast-panning action sequences. I don't remember having the same problem with any of the CGI scenes - usually live-action objects in the near depth where the camera was panning horizontally.
- Matt Mastracci
Heh, I guess it's a science fiction in-joke.
- Victor Ganata
Not helping me suspend my belief and get into the story. It just sounds lazy.

I got him a month ago, and he use to be a stray. He is now an indoor cat. Well I took him to the vet about two weeks ago, and they gave me medicine cause he had worms in his stomach. I gave him the first dose, and tomorrow is the second one. Could it be that he is throwing up all the nastiness out of his system?
- Shevonne
I'd finish up the medication but if it doesn't get better in the next day or two after the second dose, take him back. My cat vomits about 1-2 times per day but it's because of a sensitive stomach and eating too fast. Your cat could be perfectly fine, but definitely get it checked out to make sure it's not something more serious.
- Rochelle
My cat does the same sometimes Rochelle - and it's always semi-whole food he vomits. I don't worry about that kind of vomiting at all. But if it's bile and you don't think it's pre-furball vomit, I'd take him in. He could be reacting to the deworming meds as well.
- Jen (SquirrelGirl)
Thanks everyone. I am going to follow Rochelle's advice and wait a day or two to see what happens after he finishes the medication.
- Shevonne
Call the Vet...sometimes they can help right over the phone
- Susan Beebe
It could be the meds, but if he was a stray he might not yet be used to the idea that he doesn't need to compete for food and he's eating too much too fast. Try giving him several small meals through the day if you can.
- Nine
Make sure he drinks plenty. In part it could be side effects of the meds, especially since your cat is probably still adjusting to new food, new lifestyle. Try feeding less and in smaller doses, perhaps? (not that i have cats, only a dog)
- Joelle Nebbe (iphigenie)
I thought about that. The thing is I go to work sometimes, so I have this automatic feeder thing.
- Shevonne
also, since its the holidays, you may have plants out that have a higher instance of toxicity to the cat than your average house plant. you may want to assess that as well.
- Carlos Ayala
Automatic feeders can lead to overeating in any animal. I go to work, too, but fill my cats' bowl with food in the morning before I leave and then when I get home in the evening. Two bowls a day shared between two cats is plenty.
- Rochelle
Ok, I'm going to eliminate the feeder for a week to see if that does the trick. Also, these kids are constantly sneaking some treats to him, so......it must be overeating
- Shevonne
I think your cat has an eating disorder. You should just sit it down and explain that you love it just the way it is and it doesn't have to change.
- James Ferguson
He does have FIV so that could be a factor as well
- Shevonne
What wet food is good for sensitive stomachs?
- Shevonne
My cats vomit frequently after eating too. I wonder if it isn't because I ONLY feed them 2x a day. When they get the food they seem to "overindulge" and I think that may lead to the vomiting. When I try to feed them smaller meals more often, they seem to NOT vomit so much....
- Tiffany Campbell
My sister's cat recently died of Hepatic Lipidosis caused by overfeeding. A visit to the vet is probably a good bet. http://www.petplace.com/cats...
- Sprague D
Thanks for the link. I called the vet, and she said to try a more blander wet food. If it continues, then to bring him in. She said that if his stools are ok, then it might just be overfeeding
- Shevonne
Also check for allergies. We changed cat food and she throws up way less.
- Susan Beebe
One of my cats is a vomit machine. She yacks less when we feed her food without a lot of added colors.
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
Yeah, I think that is what the vet said. She said Iams is good. It's blander
- Shevonne
Shouldn't we be feeding these animals real meat rather than processed food?
- alphaxion
alphaxion, there are some people that do. No meat is allowed in my house, though, so cat food is the closest my cats get to meat!
- Rochelle
I read into that. It's more of an issue for me because I don't stay home, so I would have to mix dry food with real food and that make him sick
- Shevonne
It's much better for cats to be on an all wet food diet, especially males, as they are more susceptible to urinary problems. A cat on dry food gets half the amount of water then if they are on an all wet food diet. My cat also vomits sometimes after eating her wet food. I feed all 3 cats twice a day, and she tends to eat too fast. Depending on weight, a cat should be getting at least...
- Chelsey Roe
Hepatic Lipidosis usually causes a cat's appetite to diminish, so they usually under-eat, not over-eat. In this case, to make sure you're cat is getting enough calories, you may have to feed her with a syringe or even a feeding tube. More about this problem at this website http://www.catinfo.org/

List them in order of greatness, #1 being the most important. I’ll cull the final one hundred out of what titles we receive by January 9th. Please include your real name if you wish to be acknowledged in the book."

#1 is obviously 'I Love to Singa.' It taught me the value of nonconformity at a very early age, and set me on a career in radio that has finally culminated in unemployment. Plus, there's the Simple Simon guy. http://www.youtube.com/watch...

It's ironic that instead of Obama's presidency showing us how we are less racist, it's having the exact opposite effect. It's showing us that indeed this country is much more bigoted and intolerant than most of us could ever imagine.
I had read last year that outbursts like this might result, but I didn't quite believe it at the time.
- John (a.k.a. dendroica)
It has become quite uncomfortable to be an Obama supporter in Oklahoma.
- Geoff Schultz
Well, maybe now some of us who have been silent (or quiet) resisters to racism will not be so silent or quiet or complacent anymore. That would be good.
- Jim Addz No Value
I take that back, it has become quite uncomfortable to be an intelligent open minded person in Oklahoma, You don't even have to be an Obama supporter or black to be uncomfortable here now.
- Geoff Schultz
I've been saying for the last couple of years now that the US is more segregated now than they ever were. But no-one wants to see it, let alone acknowledge it ... and now things are coming to a head.
- Rene Wirtz
You know things are bad when even Pat Buchanan (I believe it was he that recently wrote an essay about how the country is becoming more divisive) starts complaining about how divisive we have become.
- Alex Scoble
It's actually interesting as well. The problem with race relations is that some people just want to pretend there is no race, no skin color, no differences, no separate cultures. They say stuff like "Aren't we all just people?!" They don't realize that this is the primary problem with why race relations remains as it is. Obama being elected president just gave these types more fuel for...

- Rahsheen ™, Coach Rah
You are EXACTLY right Rahsheen. If I hear "There's no racism we have a black president" one more time I'm going to lose it.
- Geoff Schultz
Don't blame it on the people who want to move on past racism, Rahsheen. I don't think that's mainly where the problem is. And it's not that simple, Geoff. People who think that way *are* clueless, but that's not everyone...
- Kamilah Gill
This reminds me of all of the progressives who believed that if Obama got elected, it'd be all puppy dogs and ice cream from here on out. Some people simply don't have a reasonable grasp of reality.
- Akiva Moskovitz
I thought things in DC would get better, and in a sense they have, but in a very real sense, they have gotten worse. Maybe this is a good thing? I don't know...time will tell.

It's both ironic AND it sucks. But at least we in the US have progressed far enough to elect a black president. I didn't think that would happen in my lifetime. No matter what the issue or non-issue, there will always be closed-minded people. Just a sad fact of life we must accept. I'd rather not stoop to their level and even bother arguing with people like that. Peace all :-)
- ThatJimGuy
@ThatJim: but the biggest problem right now is that the closed-minded people are browbeating the rest into submission. Or at least they are trying to.
- Rene Wirtz
It's not the people that *want* to move past it that are the problem. It's the people in denial that racism is still prevalent. Black president or not, the issue isn't solved.
- Rahsheen ™, Coach Rah
Rahsheen, that's a big problem. Changing the way people think is hard. What's a good next step?
- Bruce Lewis
Well, the first step is recognizing that there *IS* a problem. As a country, we haven't done this. For instance. Why do people not see why stuff like Black Web 2.0 even exists? If you think it's simply perpetuating separation, you need to re-think your position because you're missing the point. After that, it comes down to people changing the way they think and I'm not sure that's possible. I think it's something that will come over time as the younger generation comes into it's own.
- Rahsheen ™, Coach Rah
If I'm someone who sees why stuff like Black Web 2.0 exists, what's my first step in helping someone else see?
- Bruce Lewis
That's what I have seen too. My people, the Cherokee Nation, accepted all into the Cherokee Nation regardless the race. America used to be that way for me too. But, now all I see is racist this and racist that. America transcends race MAN! Let's stop it right now.
- Eric Standlee
It's pretty much what I expected - the GOP showed just how dependent they were on their mouth-breathing base in the last election, and the media must have controversy to sell their wares. It's a bad combination - where the press effectively promotes the most retrograde elements of the body politic as a legitimate oppositon further polarising what was already a polarised citizenry.

I predicted this would come. Derrick posted the following link shortly after the election: http://www.csmonitor.com/2008... . This was my reaction to that on my blog on Nov. 11th. "This was not unexpected. Sadly I expect it to get worse. On the bright side (if there can be such a thing when it comes to racial hatred) perhaps this will help expose the deep divisions...

My sense is that the racism has been there, but Obama's election has injected a new sense of urgency into the mix. Those who were "complacently racist" are now more being more vocal. That doesn't mean that they will acknowledge their own racism, though. It remains couched in conceptual citations like "Real Americans" and "Patriots" versus a vaguely evil "something/someone else." Nothing...

Actually, the racists who were content to blend in among the Republican establishment under Bush are now panicking. The very existence of a black president threatens their egos with annihilation. So they lash out hysterically, and in some cases violently. Unfortunately, the conservative corporatist establishment (including the allegedly "liberal" media) are equally threatened by the...

we are all limited by our mental images, and these are build in childhood and layered deep... No matter what the crazies say or do, the next generation's mental images will be a lot more flexible and diverse than theirs - whether it is about gender roles, leadership images, or suitable dreams.
- Joelle Nebbe (iphigenie)
I believe that centuries of slavery and the racism that has followed are endemic of a deeper problem: there is a virulent strain of American culture that believes the best way to achieve prosperity is through the exploitation of others. That the course of power and domination is preferable to a course of compassion and equality. It explains why the right has no problem with profligate...

It's pretty incredible watching the battle here up here at a distance, you guys/the US (being so polarized) are like that aunt & uncle at a family gathering who are always fighting, at each other's throats airing dirty laundry that should never be aired, slinging abusive insults, and everyone else (the rest of the world) is going wtf?
- sofarsoShawn
I think it is much more bigoted and intolerant than "some" of us could ever imagine. I remember being surprised when he was elected. I mean there are people in this country that will not accept treatment from a black doctor, or advice from a black lawyer, so...
- J. Abdul-Qahhar
He WAS elected, though. It's just that the racists are now getting so much LOUDER.
- m9m, Crone of FriendFeed
Unfortunately this is a global issue...We have HUGE problems with racism and segregation in Europe too. In fact we `ve got it worse than America IMO.

"On every major measurement, the Census Bureau report shows that the country lost ground during Bush's two terms. While Bush was in office, the median household income declined, poverty increased, childhood poverty increased even more, and the number of Americans without health insurance spiked."

This is exactly the kind of thing I expect to see and rarely see. Considering how many people use PCs with Windows and Office I'm always astonished at how few service pieces I see covering their products compared to the glut about Apple and even [gag] Google.

Hopefully I'll be doing more stuff along this type of line Sprague .. it's good to know what kind of things people want to read about when it comes to MS/Windows .. the bashing gets tiring after a while
