@ikarzali G1 is useless comparatively so I hope they keep it around until they actually have made a better GC for server applications.

I'll take a crack at it with your options and see what we see. G1 so far has been useless with full pauses being long and frequent under moderate testing. @ianibbo i can only imagine that you are using the auth'd endpoint /v1/yql in java and /v1/public/yql in wget.
@linaresa mid range quad-core intel systems (2.2Ghz) with 1.5G heaps and a load that varied between 20-40% cpu.
has anyone ever seen a fix for tomcat 6 opening the server socket before load-on-startup servlet init has finished? #java

@tilomitra assuming you are using geo.places API, result is actually the bounding box for the town the address is within, not its lat/lon.
