SQL tweeps: who has setup mirroring in their enviro? I'm getting the Error:1418 issue and its driving me nuts. Do I need to use certs?
@AdamMachanic yes FQDN on all and a witness server. Trying to start mirror gives me error connecting to partner
@AdamMachanic @onpnt looks like something's up with config on my partner. Can't connect to it via SSMS now...
Holy crap, got it working. Looks like tempdb log file corrupted on trying to startup w/ different credentials (sql service).Deleted/restartd
and yes, both databases are same patch level (sql 2005 sp3)

@onpnt @AdamMachanic no one is using an AD account the other was using NETWORK SERVICE
@onpnt @AdamMachanic signs its been a long day.Apparently sql service wasn't running bc I tried to switch it to run using AD acct.Didnt like
also for mirroring, does named pipes need to be enabled in participating servers?
last thing I'm going to try then heading home.The error log is showing DOMAIN\SERVERNAME$ does not have connect permission on endpt.State 84
@AdamMachanic @onpnt no fix, that just brought it back to a point where I can connect to it but still no dice. Both servers are Role=Partner
BOO YAH! Now that I got it fixed I officially have 2 databases mirrored (this is a first for me/org!). Thank you everyone for your help!
