1. Squirrel Girl was a name I adopted after a long standing distrust of squirrels. They’re cute. But they’re sneaky. And a co-worker lost a finger to one.

2. I hate hot fruit in any form. No pies, no cobblers, no thank you.
- Jen (SquirrelGirl)

7. I have 1 daughter, who I had through IVF after trying to get pregnant for 4 years. Not an easy time. My daughter is the light of my life.

8. I had one miscarriage (that I’m sure of) and was surprised at how hard that was.
- Jen (SquirrelGirl)
9. Rainy days are my favorite kind of days – though joy can be found in any temperature and any humidity. I even love hot humid days if I’m dressed right.

10. No children’s writers warm my heart as much as A.A. Milne.

11. I lost my brother in a train accident when I was 14 and he was 16. I think I cried about it off and on for about 10 years.

12. I was a really difficult teenager for my parents to deal with. More difficult than the norm. I’ve since apologized and we’ve all been great friends for years.
- Jen (SquirrelGirl)
13. I always wanted to be great at something (don’t we all?) – writing was the thing I really longed to do. As it turns out, what I want more than anything now is to be a great parent… and so far I think I’ve done a great job. Though – 3 years isn’t much to rate on. :)
