“Everything about the Republican Convention this week made me want to vomit. However, the ending of McCain's speech--his personal account of his POW experience--was extremely powerful. He'll be leading in the polls next week (unfortunately).”
A post is bound to emerge on http://www.stagekid.com/ but, in general, it was too long, a bit flat, an obnoxious Batman voice, subpar script. What carried it for me was the privilege of being able to watch Ledger. - Stagekid
I agree re: length and script. It was a bit heavy handed. However, I could look past that given the story. I like that it was not wrapped up in a bow. There were a ton of great moments thanks Ledger. - Ryan
yes, i would agree about the three stars. - edythe
And they destroyed the tumbler. That in itself ruined the movie for me. Not to mention the whole lameness that was Harvey Dent having his face catch on fire for no particular reason. - AlexScoble(Robert'sBro)
I agree. VASTLY overrated. Just okay. - Steve Isaacs
@AlexScoble: Harvey Dent became Two-Face. Hence the burnt face & coin. - Tanath
I'm with you on that. 100%. and I saw it on opening night. - Melissa Maskevich
Tanath- He was nowhere near the flames of the building when his face caught on fire...plus Batman could have easily smothered the flames preventing anything but minor wounds from occurring. It was contrived and took away from the movie. Very poor editing and writing on that scene. - AlexScoble(Robert'sBro)
IIRC, there was a barrel leaking oil nearby, and there was an explosion. Even if the scene was done poorly, there was a reason for it. - Tanath
He had gasoline on the side of his face. The extreme heat of the explosion ignited the gasoline on the side of his face, which I imagine burned hotly and caused the damage you saw, (which was also helped along by doctors removing the burned tissue in preparation for a graft that Dent refused to have). I'm just going by a layman's knowledge of physics and medical treatment. What a strange thing to nitpick on. - Chieze Okoye
