These are 30x30 but for my current project I need something a little smaller, so I'll end up losing this nice detail. That's ok. Nobody's going to be staring at the trees (I hope). They look even cooler at 48x48 (see third screenshot) but my goal is 24x24.

These are awesome! Friendfeed needs a 'love' button. Or maybe a 'DO WANT'.

On a slightly more serious note, does this SCOTUS decision invalidate "truth in advertising" laws? If corporations have freedom of speech, they are free to say anything they want, including lie (unless under oath -- when was the last time you saw a corporation swear an oath?).

Theres a SciFi story that posits corporate rule I have to find that title oddly similar

Are you thinking of Max Barry's Jennifer Government?

This may not be the end of "gov't by the people, for the people", but it's a step in the direction of collectivism having more influence than the individual.
- Jack&Cleo
Piaw, there is such a thing as a 'corporate death penalty': revoking the companies charter, but it is hardly ever used.
- Michael R. Bernstein
Jack, corporatism != collectivism, except in the vague sense that both concern how people are organised into groups.

Owning stock is a violation of the corporation's 13th-amendment rights.

We nixed Gopher access at the last minute because we found our gopher servers couldn't handle the load.

Ha! I saved a copy of the Trojan Room Coffee Cam page, complete with captured picture (which I then had to view offline, as I could not configure the Lynx to display in parallel ;-))

Speaking of which, I always wondered at the default gray background choice of the first Netscape browser(s). It looked too sophisticated to have been accidental. In hindsight, however, someone there must've misunderstood basic usability, e.g. optimal contrast ratios? [And then a year later someone had that unbright idea of turning homepages black for a day's web protest against some...

Obviously fake. :) The menu bar entries are anti-aliased.

Ray Cromwell, with the pixels being so much bigger back then, I suspect that the continued need for button bars was the impetus behind increasing screen resolutions.

If this was supposed to be March 5, 1995, that was before Sun announced Java, so the coffee pot needing Java joke wouldn't have made sense yet.
- Gabe
Damn, just by me "viewing" the image that mentioned Java, I got a "Java Update Available" window. I'm not kidding, it popped up the second the image loaded... I hate Java. This is a great parody though, good work.

lol very funny. can we have a "mob" theme in which posts that have comments disabled go float by, and you can re-enable comments by throwing a pitchfork? :-D

/me scratches head and wonders if zombo.com is going to be where Amit launches his Flash game or not.

Who is behind zombo.com, do you know? Whos the lead investor? I'd like to put some money into it. I think they have potential.

@niniane: On an internal mailing list. Someone mentioned a previous manager having said this at one point. As much time as I spend trying to wrestle browsers into some semblance of acceptable performance, this struck a chord with me :)
