Launching my app - Task.fm: sms, voice, email reminders that are created using natural language. Check it Out tell me what you think - http://task.fm/#
finally launching my reminder app that i've spent the last year or so working on. Uses semantic text recognition, so creating a reminder is faster than if you wrote it down on a piece of paper

Anthony congratulations on getting Task.fm over the line. It looks fantastic, I signed up immediately. I have been searching for something like this for some time. All the very very best with the venture. Dean

what don't you like about Task.fm - version 1.0 will be shipping sometime over the next couple of weeks. What would you like to see changed?
- Anthony Feint
Hey, I've just tried it. I quite like it. :) I'd change the home page to the user page when a user is logged in. One other handy feature would be to add reminds by email or through an IM bot. Ideally, the bot would give some feedback how it interpreted the timer settings, with a link to change it through the web interface if something had gone wrong.

Meryn: Thanks for your feedback. being able to add reminders via email will be added in v 1.0 which should be live in a couple of weeks.

Maybe you can add an option to be reminded through Twitter DM as well.
- Meryn Stol
If you'd use Twitter oAuth, you could provide a completely registration free experience. You can make putting in email (and thus also verifying it) optional. Don't know, Twitter addicts might be a good target market...

In general, I think I'd drop the distinction between the "website" and the members area (the actual tool). Maybe you could even use a kind of "lazy registration pattern": Let people type in their first reminder, process it, then ask for their email address. You know what I mean?
- Meryn Stol
In terms of page design, the main content is getting pushed way down the page for me using Chrome. It appears to be in the right spot horizontally, but vertically the main content does not start until after the right-hand sidebar.

Meryn: twitter integration is being developed but it probably won't replace our registration. The distinction between the website and app will change but probably not the way you were thinking. But letting peeps type in the first reminder and register is a great idea!

Scott: I'll take a look at the page content - does it happen on every page including the homepage?

BTW, I consider 10 cents for an SMS or voice reminder to be fair value. What SMS gateway are you using if I may ask? I didn't know gateway rates had dropped so low. (but I'm from The Netherlands, maybe NL gateways are just really expensive.)
- Meryn Stol
I think it'd be nice to be able to be able to set reminders through SMS too.
- Meryn Stol
yes Meryn, being able to create reminders via sms is also coming. The difficult bit is doing it for an international userbase. Where abouts are you based?
- Anthony Feint
I'm in The Netherlands. I don't need this function myself though. I was just extrapolating on the coming Twitter dm functionality. :) I'm hardly "mobile". I work from home. But I surely can use some easy reminder system. Because of my work, I tend to forget the simple things in life. :)

I would not be ashamed of offering some features to US based people only... It's a fact of life for us Europeans. You Americans get some things often up to a few years earlier. Google Voice is US-only too I believe.
- Meryn Stol
not ashamed...and im Australian btw.
