One gotcha - don't try to use backup compression if the database is using Transparent Data Encryption. No space savings for that, just burned CPU cycles. - Brent Ozar via twhirl
Thats dumby. Most of the 3rd party backup utilities can compress and encrypt. - Jason Massie

Wow. Just wow. - Ivy
So glad we just paid off our last two. Our baby emergency fund is in place. We're locked in nice and low on our mortgage, working our debt snowball for medical bills, the car, and my student loan. Immediately after that we're going to work on our 3 - 6mo emergency fund. - Heather
crap! I built my current credit report doing exactly what they say could make me a target, right now. I call it "money roll-over" but it is everyday purchases that are paid quickly. Hmmmm - Heidi Jeffers Thibodeau
Unless they completely change the game, you shouldn't have any problem if you pay your cards off every month and don't carry a balance. They can raise your interest rate...but if they're never charging you interest, it effectively doesn't matter. - James Williams (willia4)
Interesting side note, yesterday, at Sam's, I was offered a Sam's Discover, pre-approved $3800, with $3000 available to spend right then. What makes this different than my non Sam's Discover, that they just amazingly and without any desire, on my part, raised limit on, too?? Do people have two?? How scary! - Heidi Jeffers Thibodeau
