Need to Justify Social Media? Use Real Numbers About Real Money | Dan Zarrella - http://danzarrella.com/need-to...
Meningen "Social media must be measured in dollars and cents. And if it can’t be, it doesn’t make sense to keep doing it." säger allt. - Fredrik Stenbeck

First Look: The Curious News.me App For iPad - http://appadvice.com/appnn...
I do like the News.me me app a lot. Almost all of the articles I get in the app is relevant and interesting. the thing I really do not like is that the charge for the by the author free content. If it would have been curated it would be a different thing, but now it is aggregated and that is not worth .99 per week. So now that my 7 free days are over, the app gets deleted. The concept is great but the business model sucks. - Fredrik Stenbeck

Really starting to get addicted to Convore. I get a personal more private feeling, where it is not as polished as on Twitter. It is small group based with topic discussions. It is something in-between Chat, IRC and Jaiku. Really dynamic and inreal-time. Convore is in it's early stage and just released. A lot of things will probably come, but already in it's early stage it is really addictive. Also great to see the developers really listen and being a part of the community. That is actually quit rare for the Silicon Valley startups today. Leah Culver who is co-founder also worked with Pownce. I loved Pownce much more then Twitter in the day, but it never took off and then came Jaiku and took it's place for me. I hope Convore really takes off, but still keeps it small, since it is then you can be personal and jump out of the box. - Fredrik Stenbeck

Exclusive: Google CEO Larry Page completes major reorganization of Internet search giant - http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/technol...
Maybe there is à future for Google after all. They sem to have endes up where most companies end up when growing. At the size of today's Google, most companies have to buy innovation (through knowledge or company acquisitions), but with this move maybe Google still can be innovative in comparison to other giants like Microsoft and IBM etc - Fredrik Stenbeck

At Start-Ups, Founders Are Staying in Charge - http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2011...
Great article about how founders stay in control of their companies to a larger extent then just a few years aga. Do listen to the audio that is included in the post where many founders in Silicon Valley describes this from their perspective. - Fredrik Stenbeck

How to find startup ideas that make money | Paras Chopra's Blog - http://paraschopra.com/blog...
This is an important post. It highlights the fact that the trendy startups are not always the one that makes money. I have written about this before, not in the same meaning, but the fact that there is no hype around B2B products today, but the potential and revenue in that market is huge. The willingness to pay for a great service is much larger in a B2B space then in consumer space. The B2B business is also much more longterm. The amount of exits in the B2B space as well as the valuation on those well exceeds their challengers in the consumer space. But everyone wants to be the next Facebook or Twitter, but only very few in the crowded market will be. Read this post. This is this weeks must read! - Fredrik Stenbeck

Great post as usual by Mark Suster. this time about the trend of overfunding and it´s impact on the startups. Lean startup is the true way (Silverbakk is really living lean and are definitely not over funded, more like self funded) - Fredrik Stenbeck

These slides put things in perspictive by looking at the past as well as on the future. I put the Slideshare presentation to start on slide 18 since I really like these bullets. they are what they are and that is where one of the major values in social media today is, lead generation and relationships that could become leads. - Fredrik Stenbeck

Google could actually be on to something here, looks very interesting and promising. +1 utilizes something that everyone uses and makes it easy to show that we like it. The thing I like is that it is the step prior to make a comment it is just a +1 One thing that is getting more and more enoying with Google though, is that they never seem to get the Apps and the regular Google Accounts merged in a good way. That will be an hassle with +1 as with Profiles as with Buzz as with ...... Now with +1 and Google aslo pushing for Profiles even further it gets even more frustrating not to have them work in the same way. You cannot have an Google Profile on an apps account and you need an Profile for +1 and many other services to work in a good way. - Fredrik Stenbeck

Salesforce.com Signs Definitive Agreement to Acquire Radian6, the Industry’s Leading Social Media Monitoring Platform - http://www.salesforce.com/company...
As I have predicted the market is merging and new acquisition are to be expected. I am a bit surprised that no one have acquired Radian6 earlier. Companies like Sysomos, Scout Labs and Techrigy have all been acquired and more will come as this market merges and the customers want a more consolidated view of their information and not a silo with social media data. Big congrats to both Salesforce and Radian6 from your friends at Silverbakk! Looking forward to see Salesforce do some great things with their new Radian6 colleges and products. - Fredrik Stenbeck

Why Color’s bad first experience will always “color” this company in app stores - http://scobleizer.com/2011...
Scoble switches to burst fire on the review gun. I installed the app this morning and for me it is probably not only that I do live outside big cities, I also live in a small country. right now it is probably not more then 100 people in the entire Sweden who have this app installed, just a guess. I agree with Scoble, I hope they have a secret plan. - Fredrik Stenbeck

IT professionals can’t help - http://www.hyttfors.com/it-prof...
If you think Internet belongs to the IT department, read this post. This is this weeks best post and I sign off on every word Stefan Hyttfors writes. In gentle words he describes a great challenge every company stands in from today. The larger organization the larger obstacle unfortunately. Internet is not an IT topic. - Fredrik Stenbeck

Ignore SEO, just produce good content - http://econsultancy.com/uk...
It's common sense, but still needs to be said. I like to play around with my basic knowledge within seo, but will never compensate un-interesting posts with seo posts. I write as a digital archive, primarily for myself, but I would be lying if said I do not like when others like what i write. Also I do care about google traffic, but that is not why I write and traffic is not a goal in it self. - Fredrik Stenbeck

Finally, a Startup Visa That Works - http://techcrunch.com/2011...
There is one thing with this suggestion that I think is a little backwards. Why do startups have to generate jobs for Americans? Isn't better if more people come to US and work? Or if expertise are kept in US and production performed in cheaper countries. All the money goes to US. Singapore have that system and it has shown very successful. Singapore is the second most growing economy in the world right now. They have different kinds of Entrepreneur Visas and are in the same fashion as the US, but more open and positive to foreign workforce. - Fredrik Stenbeck

I have during the last months seen what these visas can do to countries and I must say I only see 100% positive outcome. Both Hong Kong and Singapore have these visas and they really are a key to drive innovation and money into the country on long term. I actually though US had similar in p Ace already, but I was wrong. - Fredrik Stenbeck

Bring me stuff that's dead, please - http://sethgodin.typepad.com/seths_b...
Seth says it so well, I wish I had his way with words and maybe his brain too... Read the post to get the full picture. "Only when an innovation is dead can the real work begin. That's when people who are seeking leverage get to work, when we can focus on what we're saying, not how (or where) we're saying it." This is what is happening right now with many things online, think about it. - Fredrik Stenbeck
