3 Reasons You Should Think Like A 'Business-Of-One' | CAREEREALISM - http://www.careerealism.com/busines...
This is why being the CEO of yourself is so important now. You are responsible for creating your own job title and carving out a successful career. We can no longer rely on having a secure job for the next 40 years and applying for Social Security during retirement at age 70. Both of these ideals are completely dead. - Stephanie L. Gross

Why Some of Us Reject Marriage | Next Avenue - http://www.nextavenue.org/article...
Autonomy vs. intimacy and alone time vs. together time are surely part of the push-and-pull of many married people's lives. They are worthy topics for therapy, I suppose, but for me, they're beside the point. - Stephanie L. Gross

The 20 Best Social Media Books from 2012 to Read in 2013 - http://windmillnetworking.com/2012...
n what has become an annual tradition for this blog, the time has come to take a look back at the incredible additions that many authors have made to our understanding of social media from a wide variety of perspectives in 2012. My initial list featured 15 best social media books of 2010, followed by increasing the number listed to 25 for my best social media books of 2011 post. While I could have easily increased this list to 30 or even 35, I wanted to instead concentrate on only those books that I feel truly add value – and therefore I have decided to actually reduce the number of recommended books to 20. The self-publishing revolution means that there is no lack of content out there to read on social media, but however subjective this list might be because it is written by a person (moi), I am hoping to steer you to books that hopefully you will consider a worthy investment of your time. - Stephanie L. Google Taking Its Fight for Internet Freedom to the Public - http://www.eweek.com/search-...
As governments worldwide prepare to meet Dec. 3 to discuss the future of the Internet, Google is reminding citizens to make their own views known. Google is using its power, influence and online might to sound the alarm for Internet openness and freedom to individual users around the world as leaders of many nations prepare to meet to discuss how the Internet should be regulated in the years to come. "Starting Dec. 3, the world’s governments meet behind closed doors to discuss the future of the Internet," wrote Google in a post on Google+. "This meeting of the International Telecommunication Union, or ITU, will take place in Dubai. Some governments want to use this meeting in Dubai to increase censorship and regulate the Internet." - Stephanie L. Gross

10 Details About Today's Job Search | CAREEREALISM - http://www.careerealism.com/todays-...
1. Google Has Replaced the Resume Recruiters are now using Google and LinkedIn searches to find talent, instead of paying for job-board or talent databases like they used to do. In fact, many companies are even mandating that every new application go through a Google screening process. So that means the first page of your Google results matter much more than they ever did before during a job search. - Stephanie L. Gross
