Matt Lauer - Stephen Pickering
Facebook is a chair -- talk about that nonsense. - Brian Sullivan
He's right because it only measures how many people are still actually looking - Stephen Pickering
Facebook is a chair? are they trying to get Clint Eastwood to join? - Kevin Marks
Don't need to monetize mobile because those 600 million are creating free content for FB - Stephen Pickering

Uh oh. Attention was mentioned. Next it'll be Gestures. ; ) - Matt Terenzio

Today back in 1962, the first James Bond Movie, Dr No was released. Plus the Beatles released their first single, 'Love Me Do'. Both James Bond and The Beatles became Britain's biggest Cultural Icons of the 60's. - Moe Glitz

fB is still way slower on mobile than tw (both native app + stream) - john
Mobile is the advert for the service as a whole - Stephen Pickering
Scoble blow! - Evan Prodromou
he's going of the rails! - Tina Chase Gillmor
Is that what Steve was saying? - Matt Terenzio
It's mostly a Twitter design issue more than the 500 List limit. - manielse (Mark Nielsen)
So what should they do? - Stephen Pickering
Some things need huge scale but not all things. Some services do fine with smaller numbers, and by fine I mean add more value to their users by virtue of the fact that they aren't mainstream huge. - Matt Terenzio
Agree with Kevin. The TV 'n' tweet combo is interactive, not just sit back and watch entertainment. - Amyloo
i get the most intelligent developer links from twitter - john
having to patch apps for retina is such a cock-up - Kevin Marks
Apple should have developed a better way to show legacy apps on retina. Depending of the developers to support it was a big mistake. They should have do it in the OS. - Murray Macdonald
had to look up cock-up : ) - Matt Terenzio
Keith has the biggest one - Tina Chase Gillmor
I'm clearly compensating - Keith Teare
making the type look right in retina should have been job one. - Kevin Marks
Hahahaha - Stephen Pickering
big blocks or little blocks - john
what do you mean you can't make a list on twitter ...? - Laura Norvig
@scobleizer - he's right Twitter is about entertainment -- see the top most popular: http://twitaholic.com/ - John Taschek
Facebook ads are dorky. - Brian Sullivan
Laura you can't make this list on Twitter: https://www.facebook.com/lists... - Robert Scoble
Both are bad Door to Door Salesmen - Moe Glitz
Why? Twitter is limited to 500 startups. This list has 1,400. - Robert Scoble
Rope a dope? - Brian Sullivan
Both are full of noise. - Murray Macdonald
RSS still the best news feed.... - manielse (Mark Nielsen)
Do people only want news - Murray Macdonald
And news publications, like NY Times, are pushing notifications directly on phones - christina sponselli
Where do people get their news? - http://www.poynter.org/latest-... - John Taschek
Steve, your voice a little distored - Murray Macdonald
Scoble is right - Tina Chase Gillmor
Why do I want my news on a small screen? - Murray Macdonald
no Scoble is right - Tina Chase Gillmor
Isn't it a matter of taste? Scoble likes the pictures. I like that you can scan more messages on a single Twitter screen, and get a better, broader sense of what's going on right now. - Amyloo
joke - Laura Norvig
And iPhone has Google Maps... Oh right... - Murray Macdonald
I think I'm mixed on pictures in news feeds. They have value but should be sized smaller unless I click on that post for more. Would be best of both worlds. - manielse (Mark Nielsen)
!! - Amyloo
fB - 20 - john
text only = cognitive overload - Laura Norvig
I know Steve' mic is being weird and not sure why. Will troubleshoot after show - Tina Chase Gillmor
So pinterest is the #1 feed? - Murray Macdonald
Take that! - Hilary Talbot
He's blowing - Tina Chase Gillmor
FB v Twitter discussion feels like a management meeting where people talk about a website design review. Everyone has an opinion. Put it out for user testing. - christina sponselli
OK, now you're getting derailed, Robert. You were on a roll there for a minute. Popular doesn't mean quality, obviously. - Laura Norvig
Wow, it wasn't me this time for the feed rant! ;-) - manielse (Mark Nielsen)
but but I hate picnics! - Amyloo
Let's just get our news from Flickr then! Do away with all text! - Matt Terenzio
Robert's smile is telling - Tina Chase Gillmor
Why are all the developers so prone to use twitter, not fb? - Murray Macdonald
Twitterest - Moe Glitz
I want options in the mobile apps to chose pics vs text only. How hard is that.... - manielse (Mark Nielsen)
Now we all know your password... - Murray Macdonald
Yes Twitter needs to innovate - Tina Chase Gillmor
bingo - Laura Norvig
Murray: you can have my iPhone after you uncurl my cold dead fingers off of it. ;-) - Robert Scoble
well, why not have the user be able to choose their options, which is what the API was for, innovation from other places - Matt Terenzio
+1 matt - Amyloo
Robert: It will be obsolete by then... And a little too sweaty. - Murray Macdonald
I'm on Google Reader more than Facebook, Twitter, G+. Much faster to go thru text than pictures - Da
Robert: I thought flipbook was your news client... - Murray Macdonald
Do you think someone may fund app.net so that it could go free? - Stephen Pickering
I don't want a single automated feed filter. I want to control my filters, not have it automagically done for me. The winner will be the one with the greatest filter control. - Murray Macdonald
Well, Robert isn't a typical user. I only follow 700 people on twitter and that is intentional, not because I can't find more. Not sure what typical number of followers is though - Matt Terenzio
Big Turkeys - Moe Glitz
Average Twitter user follows 170 accounts - manielse (Mark Nielsen)
Where is the client/platform that lets me control my filters? FB tries to do it automatically, but isolates me from things. Twitter to too much. - Murray Macdonald
Stephen, wouldn't that defeat the purpose? Then they would need another business model and there would be a conflict of interest again. - Matt Terenzio
We put out a Romney-Obama social survey here: http://www.radian6.com/blog... - John Taschek
kpbs is nothing better for a disaster event in your area, nothing had more info on the radio during the SD fires - john
and clear channel was on auto pilot with no info on most of the fm dial - john
Robert: is flickr your main news feed? why not? - Murray Macdonald
Matt, point taken, but from what I'm hearing they need more innovation, so I figure App.net could do it better, even though, you're right, they'd still have to find a monetization model - Stephen Pickering
Facebook and Twitter feeds into my Google Reader. Sucks I can't do that for G+ - Da
Pictures are not everything. Twitter has photos too. Twitter clients could show more photos... - Murray Macdonald
Stephen, yes, it would eliminate the innovation part of the problem - Matt Terenzio
The media talks about Twitter because it is like them -- they understand it. They talk and everybody listens. - Brian Sullivan
What Jack said was right. The number is down only because the labor force has shrunk. - Stephen Pickering
Facebook basically *forces* users to post graphics if they want to get any attention. There's a feedback loop where posts with graphics get more likes and comments, therefore they get higher in the newsfeed and therefore FB tweaks the algorithm to bump stuff w/graphics, and then organizations that follow FB trends feel compelled to post graphics or videos. - Laura Norvig
Same with G+ Laura. - manielse (Mark Nielsen)
Everyone is using voicemail, but I wrote it off years ago... - Murray Macdonald
I'm so totally addicted to FB. I wish Robert would do a tutorial on how to use it more effectively though. - Stephen Pickering
Eventually that supports the growth of idiocracy, as people aren't forced to practice reading - Laura Norvig
LinkedIn is the yellow pages for business...for better and worse. - christina sponselli
I agree with Steve - Facebook is an irritation -- if my daughter didn't post pictures and movies of my new granddaughter there I wouldn't go there. - Brian Sullivan
tune your feed! - Tina Chase Gillmor
Linked-in is match.com for the chronically underemployed. - Murray Macdonald
Then on Twitter there is: #FF @a @b @c @z garbage - manielse (Mark Nielsen)
Why doesn't twitter just launch a better UI? Seems like low hanging fruit. - Murray Macdonald
You can't do it all in one UI. The beauty of third party twitter stuff was different stuff for diff use cases. - Laura Norvig
in the end fB has 50b's .. tw has 6b and they're competing - john
Brian - Steve is wrong - Tina Chase Gillmor
I post Dead Videos and Yankee game photos to FB. My followers there aren't interested in Python or the News industry. They are on Twitter. - Matt Terenzio
I don't agree that mobile is a challenge. It's an advantage. It's the content creator. - Stephen Pickering
I want to send all these feeds into a single client that gives me powerful filtering options that I can control. - Murray Macdonald
Tina -- That is what my daughter says as well -- but I don't buy it. - Brian Sullivan
I want to create a handful of different feeds, from my raw feeds. One for friends, one for geeks, one for politics, etc... - Murray Macdonald
He's so right about the Meta stuff - Stephen Pickering
I see the same stuff that Robert sees on FB on G+. - Brian Sullivan
The normal person doesn't subscribe to "lists". - Brian Sullivan
Why doesn't Twitter put ads on their site? - Stephen Pickering
I mean on the right or left side of the page - Stephen Pickering
I want to make my own lists from different sources/feeds then direct them to different clients. - Murray Macdonald
Flipscam - Stephen Pickering
But YOUR lists are not exactly for the subscribers, it's a jump start but it takes time to steal the ones in the list for a personal list. It's a good start but G+ does a better job to clone a circle then modify to your needs. - manielse (Mark Nielsen)
RAX = 9 billion dollar market cap, and my dumb ass didn't buy any shares 3 years ago - Stephen Pickering
I agree with laura - Kevin Marks
Robert, I've been looking for some subject matter to test one online course on 8 to 10 different platforms. Would you be interested in providing an instructional video on how to tune your FB feed? - Amyloo
I want my FB, Twitter, and linkedin feeds, boil them down, and view them (separately) as different lists. - Murray Macdonald
Mark: you're wrong. Google+ is an abortion. I can't do anything like what I just did on Google+ to get you started. - Robert Scoble
Amy: might be fun, but the next month is hell on my calendar. - Robert Scoble
That Chris Sacca interview was mind-blowing - Evan Prodromou
Thanks again guys. - Murray Macdonald
I agree and disagree Robert. My point was I can clone your list and then filter for me. That is a huge hole in the FB list features. - manielse (Mark Nielsen)
I haven't quite worked it out yet, so much later would be better for me. I'll let you know if I make progress on it. - Amyloo
Thanks to everyone. This conversation is always so smart - Tina Chase Gillmor

Microsoft could charge "mob rate" pricing for four reasons: (1) It was a software suite; (2) They were usually bundled with computers so they offered a "solution" or "system"; (3) The software "spoke" to one another; and (4) There was some stability so businesses trusted it. - Chien-Yu Lin
Convertibles - Jerry Schuman

I use the Verizon 4g to WiFi adaptor - Kevin Marks
I have to give Logitech's UE (formerly Squeezebox) Internet Radio some props on making Audio sources pretty centralized. Makes a solid Roku experience for radio. - manielse (Mark Nielsen)

One problem with pulling together content from different apps is that it's hard to link them. Inter-app integration isn't as good as Web integration is. - Evan Prodromou
What app is Scoble talking about? - Tom Guarriello
If I were Microsoft, I'd drive the market this way: (1) Pair up with Dell (they've shown they have reach within business and will make devices cheaply, getting their money through service contracts and renewals); (2) Drive for a software suite that can be loaded into Tablets. Let's be honest: most people use less than 5% of all of the Word, Excel, PowerPoint functionality; (3) Establish... more... - Chien-Yu Lin

A universal notification client sounds like a great idea. Don't think companies will allow it to happen though. - Alex de Soto
The issue is DISCOVERY. DISCOVERY is facilitated primarily through word of mouth. IOS apps KILL Android apps when they're discussed from end users - Jerry Schuman
so Scoble, why wouldn't companies aspire to make universal apps that seamlessly move from device to device while taking advantage of all of the best features of each device? That was Steve Jobs' vision from making universally easy products so that every app could work the same across their iPhone, and move to the iPad, etc. I agree with Steve, you and John are both right. - Charlie Isaacs
You don't need Airplay with Netflix - Stephen Pickering
guys ... in terms of eTextbooks (my focus) you are ALL WRONG - studentforce
Browser, email, Netflix, Kindle, music player probably gets you pretty far - Evan Prodromou
That's not true, Netflix's code and even UI is different on various platforms. - manielse (Mark Nielsen)

I'm very upset of the loss of RSS from Twitter. - manielse (Mark Nielsen)
I haven't tried to scrape twitters html recently, is it still crufty? - Kevin Marks
And surprisingly, Dave Winer seems to be totally fine with killing RSS in Twitter - Charlie Isaacs
but Twitter added a new widget - Julio F ~ @SocialJulio
It will cause me to no longer track things like Scoble's Stared Favorites in Google Reader. - manielse (Mark Nielsen)

Anyone notice Twitter no longer using real-time follower notification (talk about going backwards) - clive boulton
Twitter is moving to federation... you watch. - Jerry Schuman
Thanks Evan. these guys are amazing. I still love to watch them joust. It's cool to fell the real time-ness of it, even for me. - Tina Chase Gillmor
Federated Twitter databases? - clive boulton
@Sponselli: I'm kind of thinking that they would start more toward middle school. High school? I could get kids to buy a toothbrush that promotes tooth decay if I marketed it right. - Chien-Yu Lin
I care almost nothing about Twitter anymore and everything about Facebook, which is exactly the opposite how I felt 2-3 years ago. - Stephen Pickering
Does this gut some of Flipboard and Currents, or are they accessing Twitter elsewise? - Denise Howell
'cos Dave Winer wants us to stop using twitter? (I don't know, he blocks me on twitter) - Kevin Marks
Flipboard has to be nervous. - Tom Guarriello
i think flipboard is using the rss feed, not sure though - Kevin Marks

I bet Dave Winer keeps saying that RSS Rulz! - Nir Ben Yona
Nir - but of course - Tina Chase Gillmor
@Sponselli: Sure. Just saying many kids will go to college and there will be a time when being competitive as a student + school requirements + social pressure / status will create a situation where a purchase will be made. Bonding is pretty powerful, regardless of usage frequency and duration. - Chien-Yu Lin
@Robert, I can see some of your FB Favorites, via Incognito, not logged in - Julio F ~ @SocialJulio
Sweet Charlie. Thanks - Tina Chase Gillmor

Go check out SylkServer from AG Projects. SIP/XMPP with presence support. Just heard they're going to release in the OSX app store. Light this thing up behind the firewall and get a complete message bus for the enterprise that includes, voice, video and chat. - Jerry Schuman
ADS ARE ANTITHETICAL TO TWITTER'S ETHOS Twitter is about real-time information with little-to-no self-editing time between information and Tweeting / re-Tweeting. This is why Twitter is used primarily as a newsfeed and the SARG (smart-ass remark generator). And there's the challenge: (1) How Can One Monetize News? We consciously understand - or intuitively know - that news, unless there... more... - Chien-Yu Lin
Sorry ... - Chien-Yu Lin

My thoughts exactly. Probably the longest post ever, during the Gillmor Gang show. - Nir Ben Yona
Chien-Yu -- you forgot about Twitter as a "social megaphone for horrible customer service" -- expressing negative sentiment about brands. I would also add that people help each other solve problems on Twitter, and help each other accomplish things. - Charlie Isaacs

@Scoble: You are absolutely right. Awareness vs. Closing. But I making the claim that Twitter has some very definite disadvantages compared to other social forums. - Chien-Yu Lin
and don't forget - its a GOODYEAR Blimp as you noted. So Goodyear gets the product placement too - even though you are miles away - studentforce
Chien: that's true, but Twitter has hundreds of millions of eyeballs. - Robert Scoble
phatic ones or phallic ones... - clive boulton
http://j.mp/twittertheory phatic, clive. Phallic tweets don't build relationships - Kevin Marks
@Marks: When you talk to people on Twitter do you come back for the information or do you go somewhere else (as with all of the links)? Also, have you made more "friends" from Twitter or from Facebook? - Chien-Yu Lin
Chien: I've made more friends on Twitter but that is quickly changing. - Robert Scoble
there are many different ways that people find to make a universal message bus useful, and those individual people get to decide which ways make sense for them - Jerome Hughes
Kevin: nod - clive boulton
many more from twitter than from facebook - Kevin Marks
Chien-Yu: I often prefer the simplicity of Twitter versus Facebook, but FB is def. much more social. - Alex de Soto
@Isaacs: Yes - Twitter is a fast response, complaint engine. But do you find that it is more of a "starter environment" or a "fostering environment"? - Chien-Yu Lin
Twitter has always been an Identity system. A tweet is nothing more then a Presence message - Jerry Schuman
I'm nto invited to the apple event :( - Kevin Marks
ing the gang? - Kevin Marks
It's crazy that Twitter didn't build a business model around search, just crazy - Stephen Pickering
@Alex De Soto: Agreed. Half the appeal of texting is not wanting the details and length of a conversation, but having the satisfaction of communication. We want acknowledgement, but not necessarily depth. We expect closure: that's why we have emoticons. - Chien-Yu Lin
Twitter seems to be one of those apps with a lot of untapped potential, but the potential never seems to emerge. - Michael Roberts
I dont get that about Apple - Tina Chase Gillmor
hm, I'm at Mobile 2.0 on tuesday, going to be tough to get to disrupt in time. http://mobile2event.com/... - Kevin Marks
Why on earth wouldn't they regularly invite Scoble? - Tina Chase Gillmor
“It’s almost here.” http://www.macrumors.com/2012... - clive boulton
Kevin... where is Mobile 2.0? - Tina Chase Gillmor
Grand Hyatt Union Square. Where's disrupt this time? - Kevin Marks
@Scoble: Agreed. But do you think in the long term, will people buy from Twitter?; how will Twitter be able to claim advertising from its platform as effective (it is true mobile, but may have to create discount coupons that expire within 1 hour of setting off geo-fencing - granted, this is a challenge for all - but I see it more as a challenge for them since their transactions are so short). - Chien-Yu Lin
@Chien-Yu: I see it is both, but I in my role I focus on customer service. It is a Starter Environment for initiating complaints, that are usually taken off line. It can also be a Fostering Environment; when an angry tweet falls on deaf ears it can foster collaboration (in some case "rallying the troops", in some cases others coming to the aid of the suffering Tweeter). - Charlie Isaacs
@de Soto: Touche. - Chien-Yu Lin
Google+ is focusing on events with hangouts... they're starting to really show off the capabilities - Jerry Schuman
Facebook could also disaggregate some of its services like the status update, and voila a simple twitter feed - Michael Roberts
You calling me a dark spot? - Jerry Schuman
Jerry: yup, that's where Google is strong. - Robert Scoble
Thanks for joining us, good chat room today! - Robert Scoble
IT conversations probably exist. - Michael Roberts
@Isaacs: But do you find the speed of Twitter is more helpful than the granularity and details of Facebook? I know each has its place, but in the long run, would it not be easier for FB to just mimic Twitter than Twitter to build a profile base and communication platform? - Chien-Yu Lin
Livestream also has a new device - Jerry Schuman
Wish G+ will disaggregate some of its services like the status update, and voila a simple twitter feed (lite weight web) - clive boulton
@Gang: As always, great information, learn something new each show. Be safe. Have fun this weekend. - Chien-Yu Lin
I'll bike over from union square tDisrupt at 8th st after I get offstage - Kevin Marks
Great show! Good weekend all. - Alex de Soto
Good show all. thanks for being here to everyone - Tina Chase Gillmor
about 12 mins by bike - Kevin Marks
Thanks Chien-Yu - Tina Chase Gillmor
Sorry @Chien-Yu, got pulled off on a call :) That was a fantastic show, BTW. I like Twitter for its instantaneous activity capabilities -- you can Tweet something and get a response within seconds, whereas, FB has more of a delay. I know a lot of people who are always watching Twitter with one eye (because of what you said earlier about news feeds) and only check FB a few times a day. I... more... - Charlie Isaacs
@Isaacs: Agreed. I just think of the possible scenarios - and the underlying usage / "DNA" of each company - I am not sure that it will have the value we think it does. We will all have essentially a "stock ticker" of life that will quickly be ignored and commoditized. - Chien-Yu Lin
@Chien-Yu @issacs G+ has more delay than FB. But comes into its own talking-in-circles. {replaces email in the enterprise?} - clive boulton
@cliveb @Chien-Yu Well, put on your "vendor filter" but of course I am biased towards Chatter, that replaces email in our enterprise, and many others... G+ is like Chatter in many ways but it isn't integrated into the other mission-critical apps in the enterprise. For example, you should be able to collaborate around any enterprise "activity" -- Leads, Cases, Interactions, etc. and it should feed into a common thread for you without having to cut and paste everything manually. You can't do that with G+. - Charlie Isaacs
@Isaacs: Keep your "vendor filter" on. We're building a SAP/G+ app for nitty-gritty enterprise activity like chasing shortages. - clive boulton
ok, will do, @cliveb thanks and good luck - Charlie Isaacs

I agree with you Chien-Yu Lin - Francine Hardaway
and on your phone, what software do you use to administer the control and how do you know to trust those who provide it? - Jerome Hughes
Keith nailed it. OAuth web is out. XAuth personal device is in. - clive boulton
You are assuming that you will have your phone everywhere you go... what other personal devices will shape the future of this technology? - Doug Wolfgram
Francine Hardaway: Its just a simple mediation between profiles (likes), maps (travel paths) and velocity & cadence (accelerometer). Also, it has a lot of promise for emergency services (medical / fire / police). - Chien-Yu Lin
we do have our phones with us wherever we go - Tina Chase Gillmor
situational awareness in realtime - Jerome Hughes
I agree. I advise an ad tech company that's just waiting for this to save the online publishing business CHien-Yu LIn - Francine Hardaway
I still think a smaller, pocket device that has the sensors but not the phone would be more practical for many locations... - Doug Wolfgram
Hi Gang ! - Rocky Barbanica

aaaaaaaaah track! - Francine Hardaway
Jerome: You might be right. - Alex de Soto
on Keith's seeing more personal sharing controls on a device, anyone working with XAuth? (OpenStack, Rackspace) - clive boulton
Robert Scoble is absolutely right about the "strolling down the street, looking for food" scenario. As for user cases, its not about "when you would use it"; its about "the contextual mediation engine" to be developed. Once Gimbal is set, its about how the user can use it. - Chien-Yu Lin
public clouds will go away. We'll all have private cloud storage in our homes. - Doug Wolfgram
So it works differently for each user. - Francine Hardaway
Ask the average individual where he/she wants their data in a public cloud... or one THEY control. Right now, only geeks care... but not for long. - Doug Wolfgram
Scoble is working up to a freak out... it's bubbling - Tina Chase Gillmor
push silos - sweet - Ankush Narula
Doug, private cloud storage sharing controls, isn't it the new 'PC'... - clive boulton
We're so close; who's gonna push him? - Aron Michalski
Do we really want our devices to be running us ? - Doug Wolfgram
I think it works the same way for everyone unless the engine can "learn". - Chien-Yu Lin
clive - yes. :) - Doug Wolfgram
PC stands for personal cloud? - Francine Hardaway
datasift? - Ankush Narula
Russians hackers will probably crash the contextual party. Governments and criminals will have access to the contextual stream. They will be smart enough to create alternative channels for themselves or stay off the grid altogether. Looking forward to the next 20 years!!! - Alex de Soto
+1 Alex - Ankush Narula
Francine - yes (from here on, Yes) - clive boulton
So I will get robbed? I finally have to lock my door? - Francine Hardaway
DNSChanger is a good example of context-jacking - Ankush Narula
I assumed so Francine. If we have more control then the public cloud becomes a personal cloud ... isn't that what you meant Clive? - Doug Wolfgram
Alex: yes. Heheh. Francine: your notifications will let you know you are at higher risk of being robbed so you can turn on your stun gun and get ready. - Robert Scoble
It will be exciting for sure! - Alex de Soto
Only if your phone is in your pocket Robert. :) - Doug Wolfgram
Oh, my stun gun. I'd better learn how to use it - Francine Hardaway
the unifier is your brain - Ankush Narula
the street will also have its own uses for these technologies - Jerome Hughes

Robert has a point - but if he wears a hat, it won't show - Rocky Barbanica
there is that new stun gun iphone case. :) - Doug Wolfgram
You are not kidding Jerry - Francine Hardaway
Francine: Google Glasses with Lasers! - Alex de Soto
Doug, Francine. Public cloud with XAuth = personal cloud = the new PC - clive boulton
Wait - you can integrate a stun gun, but we can't get a smartphone with a flash... - Chien-Yu Lin
That's Rev 2? - Francine Hardaway
Atta boy Steve! - Doug Wolfgram
I was waiting for that. - Doug Wolfgram
Thank YOU Steve... "never allow you to tell IT what's important..." - Kat Armstrong
Google Glasses with lasers will defend me from themselves? - Francine Hardaway
Yep - Alex de Soto
Or from the other users of contextual information who want to rob/sell/manipulate me? THis will really be a kick! - Francine Hardaway
Or you might be pooping - Francine Hardaway
Maps & Phones w/o Profiles = Spamming ads - Chien-Yu Lin
I keep buying Mophies - Francine Hardaway
Which is why Facebook and Amazon need to get into the Smartphone Industry - Moe Glitz from iPhone
early days... killed the battery and didn't provide enough benefit - Jerome Hughes
Those of us who can't afford to go out and buy more batteries simply remove apps that suck up juice, no matter how "important" they may be. That's a simple fact. - Kat Armstrong
Profiles w/o Maps & Phones = Desktop monetization only - Chien-Yu Lin
Who mentioned afford? I can't afford anything I do - Francine Hardaway
Not to mention that they'll get bad reviews Kat. - Doug Wolfgram
Our bodies are great batteries. We'll eventually plug into ourselves. All you'll need to do is drink some beer to recharge! ;) - Alex de Soto
Food is fuel - Francine Hardaway
Francine - being a single mom working for myself, it's rare for me to buy *anything* for myself. And Doug - absolutely. - Kat Armstrong
Moe Glitz: the key is to be completely vertically integrated: phone, tablet, OS, browser, search, maps, apps - all under one roof. - Chien-Yu Lin
Geeks-a- Goo-Goo! Robert's Strip Club - Moe Glitz from iPhone
I was there for many years, Kat. Finally the last kid got a job - Francine Hardaway
Francine - almost there! My youngest just graduated HS a year early and is off to college in mere weeks. - Kat Armstrong
It's interesting, isnt it, to listen to folks who know what's coming and then can extrapolate what it's going to look like, feel like, and pitfall/problems. Hope the innovators are listening - Tina Chase Gillmor
reco reading or rereading The Diamond Age about this stuff, reread it recently and it was good - Jerome Hughes
Talk about me - Rocky Barbanica

Brewster is way cool, BTW - Rocky Barbanica
how about Twitter's moves re API and "simple search" ? - Jerome Hughes
A Rackspace customer! - Rocky Barbanica
Drew Olanoff wasn't too happy with Brewster : http://thenextweb.com/apps... - kosso
Very true Chien. Which is why only 5 Companies will be in this game - Moe Glitz from iPhone
Brewster is good, but needs better search. It aggregated my conacts, but I can't really find them anymore. And it decided my housemate wasn't in any of my address books. - Francine Hardaway
While contextual search will suck the information out of Facebook, Facebook will still have value in that it is still a meeting space. Contextual search will be more for monetization (and people are not shopping all of the time). - Chien-Yu Lin
What Chien-Yu Lin said - Francine Hardaway
Keith nailing the shift to granular controls in the Personal Cloud via the phone. The OAuth king's not gonna 'Like' this shift to [you] - clive boulton
kosso - I agree with Drew. Something that big should have been found long before it went live. To pass it off as no big deal b/c they're new just plain stinks. - Kat Armstrong
Funny how Microsoft is going there but no-one really cares. It's all about brand in the social world. - Doug Wolfgram
advance request… "Freaky" & Doc about the context sensitive stuff - Jerome Hughes
Drew's review of Brewster is harsh. - Francine Hardaway
intense typing background sound - Jerome Hughes
Who is typing so loudly? - Doug Wolfgram
I wouldn't trust any of these companies with my full contact list. Besides, it's NOT my RIGHT to give some company the details of other people - most likely people who will never use the service. That's such a betrayal of trust already. Of my friends! People shouldn't do this. Now, thanks to some people, my contact details are on some server somewhere, put there by someone else! I think that's outrageous. - kosso
Data is a Goldmine for these Companies - Moe Glitz from iPhone
+10 kosso. Exactly how I feel. - Kat Armstrong
Kosso - spot on. - clive boulton
Moe & Francine: Its going to be a slugfest between The Big 5: Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Google, Microsoft. They have to vertically integrate if for no reason just to hide their patents and searches. We just saw that Google was stealing search info off Safari. - Chien-Yu Lin
Tina - why isn't the ON AIR light lit ? - Rocky Barbanica
Didn't Rapportive get in trouble for stuff like this? - Francine Hardaway
It's a bit distracting Rocky. In the old studio it was too visable. I actually haven't tries it in a while. Maybe foe next show - Tina Chase Gillmor
Why would we want all of our personal interactions mechanized? - Doug Wolfgram

The first step in content curation is noise control - Dick Costello - Doug Wolfgram
A social graph is just a Venn diagram of commonalities. For likes, its a good predictor and recommender of other things (Amazon has proven that this idea works with its recommendation engines). For friend recommendations, not so much. - Chien-Yu Lin
Steve's drinking out of his Gillmor gang cup today - Tina Chase Gillmor
Doug, is it all or nothing? won't we pick and choose what tasks (or task types) we assign to our virtual personal agents? - Jerome Hughes
Tim Berners-Lee talked to us about this at Telluirde Tech Fest in 2002. It is his version of the Semantic Web. - Doug Wolfgram
Gotcha - thx Tina - Rocky Barbanica
Hi everybody. Coming in late. Is Keith Teare a regular now? - Amyloo
Jerome -- because that is too much work for the commoner. - Doug Wolfgram
Scoble is right, but what that requires is people categorizing / tagging their communications. Its easy for large written pieces because the content is clear. Its impossible and cumbersome for "throw-away" comments - and these are usually the noise violators. - Chien-Yu Lin
Normal people won't waste their energies on more than 2 Social Graphs - Moe Glitz from iPhone
John is sooooo quite today. shhh. he might be sleeping ;-) - Tina Chase Gillmor
Chien-Y, and NObody likes to tag. Such as easy thing to blow off. - Amyloo

He posted on G+ like ten times yesterday - Stephen Pickering
He's getting squeaky... - Aron Michalski
"pinteresting" - Michael Arrington
I don't get random events posted on my calendar. - Francine Hardaway
Facebook has too much noise control. Edgerank shuts up good organizations so nobody can hear them. - Laura Norvig

Yes, Laura. FB doesn't let me see people I want to see in my feed - Francine Hardaway
My take-away from this is that I shouldn't post any more cute kitten pics on my Google+ and +Robert Scoble - Charlie Isaacs
scoble follows 32,000 people on twitter - Michael Arrington
track rocked - Michael Arrington
Oh Steve... - Francine Hardaway
Why was it banned? - Stephen Pickering
track did rock. Streamboard tries to be track - Francine Hardaway
I remember the future. - Aron Michalski
how can you follow that many people on Twitter? You need way to many lists and rules to make it of any use.. - Raymond Lee
And what is it? I've heard Steve talk about "track" for 5 years and I still don't know what it means - Stephen Pickering
you're explaining why you weren't full of shit earlier? - Michael Arrington
A meta-heuristic algorithm for filtering based on topics for delivery. - Darren
there has to be an app that would do that (track like function). How has that not been created? - Laura Norvig
And not a word about Project Glass, so far :) - Nir Ben Yona
Track gave you the ability to see keywords that you wanted to see - Francine Hardaway
And does Robert really think Twitter - in it's native form - has noise control? You need the old version of Tweetdeck to do this. - Raymond Lee

yeah, talk about the goggles - Michael Arrington
Thanks, Francine! So, why did they ban it? - Stephen Pickering

I'm following the chat but don't have bandwidth on this train to watch the video. Hope I get the gist. - Bruce Lewis
I want a ringtone version too - Michael Arrington
Stephen they didn't ban it. Twitter took it out of the product. We think because they wanted to sell that information - Francine Hardaway
Ah, ok, thanks Francine - Stephen Pickering
track was very cool - Hilary Talbot
It only takes a handful of noisy friends for noise control to become an issue. - Bruce Lewis
When your list is small and manageable you can do it yourself. An algorithm can be gamed. Track was about people. When the trust is broken the offender is ejected. - Aron Michalski
I hear you Mike - Tina Chase Gillmor
@Bruce sure - but isn't that easy to manage with circles or the lists on faceboom/twitter? - Sebastian Küpers
why are "more followers" the goal? - Michael Arrington
it's just ego stroking. - Michael Arrington
Good question, Mike. Better followers are the goal. - Francine Hardaway
Google+ circles make it easy for me, but like 97% of people on Google+ I'm technical. Facebook friend lists are hard to use even for me, though I do use them (when I use FB). - Bruce Lewis
Here we go, the normal people argument again. Being you has its drawbacks. - Aron Michalski
Kevin: Google+ technical support, how can I provide you with excellent customer service? - Charlie Isaacs
I've read that. Plus is the next iteration of Google. - Mary B: #TeamMonique
Scoble's rants resulted from an adrenaline rush from skydiving with his Google Glass device this morning -- he was under the impression that it would only work properly at 12,000 ft. - Charlie Isaacs
I'd call it the normal people unknown (not argument). I thought FriendFeed's "hide other items like this one" noise control was easy to use, but it didn't catch on. - Bruce Lewis
I want the cop to have them. - Aron Michalski
the first version won't be interesting. I want the apple version a year later. - Michael Arrington
First-person-view sports. - Nir Ben Yona
