Chopsticks would clearly be the more appropriate utensil here. - Chris White
Reality check-many pets are food or pets then food in other cultures. Disturbing maybe. People that eat animals for food are kind of fascinated on how pet lovers spend so much money on an an animal. Not saying either side right or wrong just different. - Mark Forman
Mark: The live fuzzy kitten about to be forked stabbed is disturbing.... not the choice of delicacy <-for lack of a better word =\ - Mona N
I still have to convince my Mom that the E-mail she sent me will not mean she will receive money from Microsoft... - Chris Reed
That's okay, I've been trying to convince my mother that there's life beyond the computer, and that she should try to do some job/home hunting.... It would make more sense is she really had half a clue about what she was doing on the computer. hee hee. - Will
Slightly different problem. During a recent job transition, my mother decided to learn all things "computer." Her previous computing had been limited to Quicken and Solitaire. I had to convince her there really was no good reason to watch the Microsoft Access tutorial. - Shellee
The distinctive Theme Building in the center of LAX is being renovated, and some are arguing that the scaffolding is actually making it look even cooler. I may agree.... "Currently, all of the stucco has been stripped away from the legs to be replaced as part of the $14 million dollar renovation." - Chris Reed via Bookmarklet
Neat... Someone spotted our module..... "It was a bit hazy and lights from the city blanked out the Milky Way, but objects brighter than the third magnitude were visible, and two of those were the TRMM and Genesis II. We’d seen TRMM (NASA’s Tropical Rainforest Measuring Mission) many times before, but the Genesis was new to us. Turns out it’s a commercial venture by Bigelow Aerospace, and was launched only recently" - Chris Reed via Bookmarklet
Applications for the Dented Solar System Society begin now... "Information from Earth's first space probes to hit the thick edge of the solar system — called the heliosheath where the solar wind slows abruptly — paint a picture that is not the simple circle that astronomers long thought, according to several studies published Thursday in the journal Nature. Surprised astronomers said they will have to change their models for what the solar system looks like." - Chris Reed via Bookmarklet
It's been awhile since we've had a weird/sad/disturbing death of an SNL alum. I was reminded of how good Hartman was when I watched the recent SNL Mike Meyers special. - Jason Toney
Hulu has the News Radio, I watched every available episode! Great show. - Vox
So many to choose from, but his understated Frankenstein's monster with Tarzan (Jon Lovitz) and Tonto (Kevin Nealon) sketches are what stick out for me. "Fire bad! Arrrr! Fire bad!" - Michael W. May
Glad I saw you post this, I have been watching News Radio on DVD nonstop over the past few months... miss Phil a ton! - Kevin Buckstiegel
"Is the matter in the universe arranged in a fractal pattern? A new study of nearly a million galaxies suggests it is – though there are no well-accepted theories to explain why that would be so." - Kelly Fox via Bookmarklet
"Bigelow Aerospace has two functioning modules in orbit and is working on what could be considered the first private-sector space station - assuming that the company finds an affordable method for transporting crew and cargo." - Chris Reed via Bookmarklet
Even if I weren't an Obama supporter, I have to say I've really liked the stuff that the artists have been turning out for the campaign. There's something very hopeful and timeless about it. - Jennifer Dittrich
Was willing to jump on this and buy a print but it's already sold out! I'd have to try hard to stop pulling constitutional theory out of these images. This is a fantastic image! - Shellee
Not my ideology, but well done. Reminds me of a Boy Scout Handbook I have from the 1940's. - Ryan Kaisoglus
"The team at the lab decided to send out "tweets," or short updates, rather than maintaining a blog so that people could keep track of the landing while traveling or picnicking over Memorial Day weekend. But the experiment got such a great response -- it now has more than 20,000 followers -- that the team has continued to use Twitter to share details of their findings on Mars." - Chris Reed
Cool! I'm running for U.S. Senate! .... oops, that's not me... and I live nowhere near Iowa... "I want to be your senator because I firmly believe that we need to defeat fundamental liberalism in Washington DC." Yeah... definitely not me... - Chris Reed
I want to see this "fundamental liberalism." - Shellee
"fundamental liberalism"? two words one generally sees contrasted, not combined. - Bruce Williams
Wow. That's the nicest infographic I've seen in a while. And as a Canadian, very useful for trying to figure out the Americans' antiquated measurement system. - Trent Olson
I wish I could like this into the ground - Bwana McCall
i will never forget now, just realized i am a visual learner - Globecode
How about a fridge magnet with G/Q/P/C and C/Tbs/Tsp/fl.oz.? OK, I don't know how the second one would work. Maybe instead of letters you could use a big spoon and a little spoon? - ⓞnor
I happen to like this system. Why are powers of 2 so hard? Base 2 is even less arbitrary than base 10. Split one unit to get the next smaller. A gallon is 128 ounces. Just memorize the names. You can figure out the rest. - John Lam
I never realised that there was any relationship between units in the American system - I always assumed that the values were totally random. Glad that I live in a country that uses a sane system for measuring things. - Richard Bradshaw
