@j1m the newspaper crisis and the political class crisis (see UK MPs expenses scandal) are related. This whole class of people just stopped doing their jobs. Newspapers parrot press releases. MPs toe the party line. Spin triumphs. The public, bored and alienated, goes elsewhere.
