@chuckdude sweet, I ordered the print copy. Want my hands on that ebook now though!
@ericasadun Woa, you're done with the new book?!
@bdudney Too many solid ticketing systems out there (open source) to pay for one. Trac is fantastic and RT is a bit terse, but works also.
Facebook iPhone app crashing on anyone else today? I'm assuming something is broken on the web service side of things that's causing this.
@i_Girl aha, thank you for confirming my suspicion.
@mdhughes even at 100 columns, I commend you
How many of you Cocoa guys actually keep your code within 80 columns?
The worst thing about my brain having to context switch into Xcode is trying to navigate source files with hjkl.
@masto 140 character limit bites me again. Didn't mean you were excusing it. Meant Nagios developers need to catch up to competitors. :-)
@jayson0429 looks promising, thanks. Ideally trying to avoid Cacti. Want to be able to consolidate stuff like bandwidth monitoring also.
@masto that's exactly what I wanted to avoid. No excuse, software like Zenoss handles both monitoring + perf graphs. I just prefer nagios.
Hey Nagios gurus, what's your favorite way to graph performance data with 3.0? Looking to graph app specific data & set thresholds+alerts.
I really appreciate it when apps that depend on web services continue to work offline. Kudos to Favit, kept me entertained in the tunnel.
@alanQuatermain I hear eBay sells college degrees now!
@bengottlieb aah. I should have verified before retweeting. @calilewis did correct herself after the fact.
Jeff Bezos says that for every physical copy of a book sold, Amazon sells 48 Kindle copies of that same book. (via @CaliLewis) (interesting)
Eminem's Music Box track is sending shivers down my spine. One day I'll write code as well as he can write lyrics. Genius.
@chockenberry perhaps they don't use BGP and have old school failover methods.
@comcastcares Is there a rate limit here? Trying to download some backup files from a remote server, entire network is at a halt.
@ComcastGeorge Prefer not to give public IPs out. Can DM it if you temporarily follow. I'm definitely being rate limited by Comcast though.
@Catfish_Man dang, I can't even parse myself. Really impressive though.
The further along I can get by setting up Nagios without the use of Perl, the happier those around me will be.
Platforms are converging so much these days, that I'm literally going to flip a coin btwn python or ruby for an upcoming API I need to write
@timhaines digging Favit, congrats on a -quick- release. And quick in this context is completely relative. :-)
@simonw python-mysqldb installation is a nightmare unless you simply use macports. Then it is as trivial as "port install python-mysqldb"
Difference between Perl and Objective-C: I can go back to Objective-C code I wrote one year ago and understand what I was trying to do.
@bpapa @tweetie does, it's awesome. Sorry I missed you at the tech talk AGAIN. Wasn't feeling well + had tons of work to do.
@danielpunkass darn shame, especially considering the price tag associated with that ticket.. I do miss commuting on Amtrak though.
@danielpunkass it's only a matter of time before a regular commuter on the quite car tells them to shut it. I saw it happen almost daily.
@bunyan71 Cross colors were extremely popular in 1993 also. Just saying, it could be worse.
