appeared at 6:55 pm in Google reader. really, 3.5 hours is outrageous for it to appear in RSS feeds. Seemed like this happened once before, and they gave a pointer to another ping server that you could add to Wordpress ping options that sped it up.

I mentioned somat about this on twitter to you steve... i think feedburner getting slow too. :o(
- Rob Sellen :o)
@karoli there is latency with feedburner, and then more latency on top of that with google reader. There is a WP plugin that would ping feedburner automaticly if TechcrunchIT wanted to take the time to set it up.
- Christian Burns
@christianburns I'm at a loss to know why it takes a plugin to ping feedburner automatically. I thought that versions of Wordpress from about 2.5 up made that plugin obsolete. I removed it because it was slowing the ping process way down.
- Karoli
bullshit, christian. feedburner should make this easy for anyone. Google is dropping the realtime ball.
- Steve Gillmor
I observed a 90 minute delay yesterday. I still have a couple sites on FB, but have been considering dropping it for a while.
- Chris Baskind
Google has shown no interest in real time. I want to see Google news real-time.
- Steven (optionshiftk)
@stevegillmor I agree that google is dropping the ball, They are big enough to figure out a solution to realtime rss that just works for anyone. Carry on.
- Christian Burns
I still use Feedburner, and there had been issues prior to the GOOG acquisition, but it's been particularly bad lately. Sad
- Deepak Singh
I wonder if google is throttling down rss in favor of other realtime msgs
- Christian Burns
I used to blame Google Reader for this, but it's all FeedBurner. Even if I ping right away, it's 50/50 in terms of seeing it quickly.
