You are not mistaken. The best way to ensure they get on FriendFeed is to hit Import Site at the top of your feed, click Twitter and then click "Refresh Twitter". My understanding is that this is related to Twitter's recent moves to restrict the number of calls from third-party developers per minute/hour, etc. - Louis Gray
