Tokyo is the city I most want to visit above all others, but it's so far and so expensive I wonder when it will ever happen. :(

Tokyo is also my number one dream destination... Some sort of strange fascination with Japan.

If you want old Japan - Tokyo will not have it, US bombed it away in WWII. I was there in 2005 and saw Kobe, Osaka and Nara and the Himeji castle - well worth seeing the non-bombed areas that have the ancient buildings. Also stayed in a bed and breakfast with rice paper walls, building was 600 years old and a bamboo forest on the grounds :)
