"If I’m going to use Evernote for GTD because of how amazing it is as an universal inbox, I need to develop a system that actually exploits Evernote’s strengths, rather than simply translating the paper notebook GTD workflow to it"
- Steven Vore
"The following 15 minute setup enables you to use Evernote as a frictionless GTD list application. Easy entry, no multiple notebooks required. Works with you, not against you."

If you're going to be killed on the roads, I bet it'll be by someone with a mobile phone in their hand. Put the damn thing away and concentrate on the task at hand - driving.

"Make a thin and stylish bi-fold Tyvek wallet with a USPS Priority Mail envelope, a sheet protector and a pair of scissors. No other materials needed! Not even glue."

I bought a packet of Avery card stock and then their online service (http://avery.com) to design. They have as good an assortment of templates so 1 should fit, as long as you have a color printer.

vistaprint.com - a box for free (plus shipping) if you use one of their designs and don't mind their logo on the back.
- Steven Vore
Hey guys, thanks for the tips, I really appreciate it. I don't mind paying for them, I want them to look good, I need to get a nice logo together first. :-)
- Rob Fahrni
vistaprint are also spam-inducing in my experience

Delegates are fundamental to the .NET Framework (events and callbacks wouldn't work without them) and can be extremely powerful to the .NET Developer once they come to grasps with exactly what they are and how to use them.

I want to come back to this, when I've got some time, and put some version of Linux (Mint?) on my Windows 7 laptop. I don't have a good reason why, I just do.
- Steven Vore
I've signed up for it, my lovely wife has approved of me going. So, are all people in Atlanta small? The biggest t-shirt size they have is X-Large?
- Rob Fahrni
excellent - we'll have to hook up for dinner or something.

Is it legal to take photos in public spaces that includes people you do not know, either facing the camera or not, ie taking a photo in a park? Nothing weird though ;) Specifically candid shots that just include people, but the people are not the actual subject. Hope that is clear.
- Travis Koger
yes it's legal to take the pictures. yes it's legal to print them or view them. if there's a news story related to the scene, they can go in the newspaper with an article. however without a model release you may not be able to sell them for commercial purposes.
- Steven Vore
Isn't it abnormally cold in Georgia today? In the 40s or something? Why are you at the pool?
- Tommy Williams
it is, we're hearing reports of snow flurries in the Atlanta suburbs. We're actually in Florida, on the gulf coast, for spring break. I've never had to turn the heat on at a beach house before, though!
- Steven Vore
it seems like this is a fairly regular occurrence these days. don't forget netflix or your web hosting company-you know, the important auto-charging entities <g>
- Steven Vore
Mostly people use it because that's where the people they want to interact with are. Shouldn't that be the main requirement for any social network?
- Mike McBride
MySpace was, as far as I ever saw, more about putting an advertisement out there for yourself. Facebook is more about conversations and sharing things with friends. Sure, you could use a blog and twitter and flickr and google reader's shared items for the same purpose, and maybe even bring them all together on FriendFeed, (and many of us geeks do), but for so-called "normal" people FaceBook's easier.
- Steven Vore
Remember when we said that AOL was dumb, you could get better info using usenet news, email and irc? Same discussion, different decade.
- Steven Vore
Ahhh, Steven, you may have hit the nail on the head. It's for the "normal" folk. :-) I guess I can kind of see that, but mostly I just see folks playing games, at least in the circle of friends I have. And it's mostly the "normal" folk playing games, not the techies. Interesting.
- Rob Fahrni
Mike, I guess. For me I get better interaction out of Twitter, and I'm finally getting how to use FriendFeed, and I like it, a lot! As Steven said, it does make for an easy way for the normal folks to have a web presence; takes the place of welbogs, twitter, flickr, and a feed reader.
- Rob Fahrni
On the plus side, I have found some friends I haven't spoken to in 15 years. They didn't have weblogs, or a web presence, until now.
- Rob Fahrni
Rob, that, to me, is exactly why I pay attention to FB, there are people on there I don't come across anywhere else on the Web, like people I went to elementary school with. ;)
- Mike McBride
I was expecting a release to PC manufactures in August, it looks like I may not have been too far off. Expect Windows 7 shipping on new computers, and in retail stores, well before "the holiday season."

"Evernote is becoming a favorite of many people for holding all their stuff. We put things into it. That’s a little vague, if you ask me. What Evernote actually does is offer you essentially a blank slate of information capture and management tools, that allows you to use their product for a huge number of interesting and different things. ... I’ve found seven great ways that Evernote can help my life, and make it simpler and more efficient. Here they are, in no particular order..."

The studios have a very long history of betting against technology people want, and on technology people don't want. This is just another such case. The technology people want always wins in the end -- no duh -- and usually benefits the businesses who fought that technology to the death.
