/me gets out his fire extinguisher to save Steve Rubel from a horrible fiery demise.
- Alex Scoble
Yay for the IRC reference Alex, haven't seen a good ole /me on FF for awhile!
- Nicholas Kreidberg
Educate me - what does this mean? Believe me I don't think this has anything to do with me. It's inidicative of the site's growth.
- Steve Rubel
there's been a lot of 'people you must follow on twitter ' blog posts recently so you may have picked up some followers from these.
- Richard McKay
If that comment was directed at me, Steve, "/me" starts an "action" in IRC (you can also do it in Live Messenger). Basically you type /me and then whatever you want and in IRC it shows up as something like "ITBlogger (or whatever your username is) gets out his fire extinguisher to save Steve Rube..."...As for why I got out the fire extinguisher, you said Twitter was on fire, so I was trying to save you from burning. Oh sorry...you should've turned off verbose mode before you asked the question. Cheers!
- Alex Scoble
I've seen nearly 100 new followers in 1 month and I don't even have a blog (yet)...that's gonna change in 2009

FriendFeed is growing faster than Twitter did in its first year. So, if Twitter is on fire, FriendFeed is going nuclear! But, agreed, I'm seeing lots of follower growth on both services.
- Robert Scoble
I've noticed that if I tweet less, I get more followers. That totally cracks me up.
- Mark Schulz
Recently I'm adding a lot (for me) of followers, but not so with Friendfeed. How does someone "discover" you? Through the "friend of xxxx" feature, rooms, or just random luck?
- David Bisset (sn)
David: I discover new people by their participation here. I'm following you, for instance.
- Robert Scoble
Robert: So basically, like Twitter, commenting and presenting your own $0.02 is as much value as posting links and sharing urls. Slapping my forehead.
- David Bisset (sn)
Been seeing that too (not at that rate :).
- Charlie Anzman
This is why Twitter needs trackbacks or some sort of stats section showing referring urls to your stream. FF could use the same thing. According to Compete, last month FF had more users than Twitter did one year ago. FF should eclipse Twitter at some point in the future if things are done right.
- Thomas Hawk
Thomas - I agree ... FF should overtake twitter pretty soon. LOTS of new subscribers on FF too ...really fast adoption now

200 a day!? Gosh, happy reading, Steve ;-)
