why? - Beth Kanter
Because you can do more with the platform on the go. - Steve Rubel
I stopped using Posterous when wordpress.com enabled post by email. http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2009... - Tor Inge Jøssang
Will Google ding you for duplicate content posting of the big stories on two domains? - Eric Johnson

im thinking about doing the same with Posterous.. - andy brudtkuhl
Posterous' lack of URL redirection might make the move tough for SEO. If you import a blog does it keep the same URLs? Right now Posterous doesn't have any other way of specifying them... - Eric Johnson
@Eric good points.. And no - there is no way to modify Posterous URL's after import - andy brudtkuhl
interesting stuff. is email posting actually easier than using the various tools the sites produce? I don't think the duplicate content thing will be an issue for Google - but your new site probably won't get the credit for the content. - Samuel Bostock
I recently switched my personal blog over to Posterous because I just wasn't updating it enough (I'm doing most of my blogging time and effort goes into Expand2Web.) What I like about Posterous is that it is super easy to take photos/videos on my iPhone and email them to my account while I'm on the go. I can post "lifestyle" things easily rather than planning out an entire blog post. - Don Campbell
