Would love to see Google Reader get search folders for unread items.

You can use the labs saved search feature to do this now. Just do an advanced search and only find unread messages. Then save the search.

Oops... my bad! I usually just click on "All Items" link. Make sure you don't have "Show: all items" on the article column. Just show all unread (or new items).
