“I have again rekindled my hate for Suckernet Exploder. Internet Explorer is not only broken; it's broken in different ways in each version.” - http://friendfeed.com/e...
"WTF? THIS IS SO SIMPLE TO DO IN FIREFOX! Why in the world is everything so hard in Internet Explorer? How do people surf the Internet like this?" - http://internetducttape.com/2007...
Besides, why are you asking about IE9 already? IE8 is barely known yet. I'm just crossing my fingers that Microsoft will support Web standards completely by IE100 (c. 2108). :P

I think Microsoft is going to change as open source alternatives become more and more popular. It might be possible that IE 9 will have some tricks up it's sleeve.

@fyc: Every feature of Firefox 4 with 20 performance bugs and three ways to completely bork your computer and force a reboot. Each. :P

I'm really optimistic about IE 9, but I don't think that people will want to upgrade.
- Rishabh Mishra (p248)
Well, people seem to like IE7 now. I mean, IE7 has the majority of IE pageviews on sites I check.
- dgw
While people like IE 7, I'm not sure if they can use the features. Some IE 7 users that I've seen appear to be oblivious to tabs.
- Rishabh Mishra (p248)
It would have to be between IE 6 and IE 7. It's tough as I really like Firefox better than either of them, but IE 7 has tabs, but I also had a really horrific bug with it where it forced me to reboot. Canceling the process was futile.
- Rishabh Mishra (p248)
Well hey, I like Firefox better than IE too, but someone had to ask the question. After all, this is a room for talking about Internet Explorer (sorry, Suckernet Exploder), right?
