Michael Shanks to Guest Star on Supernatural - http://www.supernaturalstation.org/124...
It's been a while since I reported on an upcoming guest star on Supernatural, but I am so thrilled with this one, that I just had to write a post about it. Michael Shanks--Dr. Daniel Jackson from Stargate: SG1--will be in an upcoming episode of Supernatural! There has been other SG1 alums on the show, including Shank's wife, Lexa Doig, who played a hunter and future Dean's love interest in the awesome season 5 episode, The End. But, Shanks will be the biggest SG1 star to make a guest appearance on the show. He will be joining the ranks of famous SciFi/Fantasy-genre star to guest star on Supernatural, including Tricia Helfer of "Battlestar Galactica", who was in the season 2 episode, Roadkill, Ted Raimi of "Xena: Warrior Princess", from season 4's Wishful Thinking, and Mitch Pileggi of the "X-Files" and "Stargate: Atlantis", who played Samuel Campbell/Azazel(YED) in season 4's, In the Beginning. 5.02 Good God Y’All - A Review - http://www.supernaturalstation.org/121...
Supernatural Season 5, episode #02. Airdate: Thursday September 17, 2009. Written by Sera Gamble. Directed By Phil Sgriggia. Praises: The Winchester brothers were back doing what they do best: roaring into town in the Impala, stopping a scary supernatural baddie, saving people (a beautiful girl), with snarkish humor and machismo (Dean), plus angst and drama (Sam), while listening to classic rock and looking really hot (both). Simple right? Not anymore. Kripke ramped up the stakes when he started the apocalypse in the season premiere. Now, the supernatural beings are even badder and almost impossible to kill, the brothers are out of sync as a team, and Sam is fighting his own addiction demons. And that made this episode was both exciting and interesting. There was angst, there was tension, there were scary moments, there was humor and snark, family moments, and even a hug (from Ellen). The scary part was not the supernatural being, but how easy it was for neighbor to turn against... - Supernatural Station

Season 5 Start Date and News - http://www.supernaturalstation.org/119...
Supernatural's season 5 will begin airing on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 9/8c on The CW Network in the USA. This is the earliest season launch ever for Supernatural in all it's seasons on The CW. Significantly, this early start means that the season premiere episode will air unchallenged by new episodes from the other major TV networks' regular Thursday lineups. Hopefully, if Supernatural attracts a portion of those networks' audience and if enough new viewers stick around after the daunting competition from The Office on NBC (9/17), Fringe on FOX (9/17), CSI on CBS (9/24), and Grey's Anatomy on ABC (9/24) return from their summer hiatus, then The CW may dip into their pockets to keep Kripke around for a 6th season of Supernatural. I am keeping my fingers crossed for this to happen. Filming for season 5 has already begun at the Vancouver, BC studios in Canada. The premiere episode, preliminarily titled, Sympathy for the Devil, will introduce the new recurring character of Lucifer... - Supernatural Station
4.22 Lucifer Rising - A Review - http://www.supernaturalstation.org/118...
Supernatural Season 4, episode #22. Airdate: Thursday May 14, 2009. Written by Eric Kripke. Directed By Eric Kripke. Praises: My first reaction to this season 4 finale was...HOLY SH*T!!! Who would have thunk it. Kripke managed to trump season 1's and season 3's finale cliffhangers with one that is even more suspenseful. The ending was WOW, just WOW! Backing up a bit, I have to say that the acting was top notch. Jared and Jensen did a fantastic job. Jim and Misha are masters of their craft. Even Cortese's Ruby was convincing. Kripke knows best how to bring his characters out of the actors. His directing style, though not as edgy and dramatic as Kim Manners' was, had me totally engaged throughout the episode. At times, he had me gripping my chair for several OMG moments. I even screamed aloud to tell Sam "DON'T DO IT!". Kripke presented some interesting dualities in this episode and for the season as a whole...from the title "Lucifer Rising" as a counterpoint to the premiere's title,... - Supernatural Station
Supernatural in EW Magazine - http://www.supernaturalstation.org/117...
A "TV Spotlight" article in the April 10, 2009 issue of Entertainment Weekly (EW) featured Supernatural. It included interviews with Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles and Eric Kripke, and spoilers for season 4 upcoming episodes, but the main focus of the article was the fate of Supernatural after season 5 (it doesn't look promising for a season 6, guys). There was also a small featurette that highlighted 5 episodes that new viewers can see to "get hooked" on Supernatural. Read more... - Supernatural Station

OK fans, it is time to cross our fingers again...Supernatural has been nominated for another notable award. This time it is the Saturn Award in the category, "Best Network TV Show". Our show is an underdog competing against shows on bigger networks with larger audiences. Read more... - Supernatural Station
Supernatural Renewed for 5th Season - http://www.supernaturalstation.org/115...
Wonderful news! The CW has announced that Supernatural will be renewed for the fall 2009 season. This news was not unexpected as season four's ratings is the highest since season one. The only surprises are the unprecedented early announcement (Feb 24th) and that it occurred before sweeps. I'm glad that The CW executives recognized that Supernatural deserved to be renewed early. Next, they should increase the budget so that the show can afford to bring back fan favorite characters (JDM!) for an episode or two. Read more... - Supernatural Station
Season 4 Casting News & Spoilers - http://www.supernaturalstation.org/114...
According to TVGuide.com, the actor to play the role of a third Winchester brother has been cast. Jake Abel will play 18-year old Adam Milligan, half-brother to Sam and Dean in an episode scheduled to air on April 23. Apparently Adam is the product of a brief affair during one of John's hunts. There is speculation that the episode title, "Jump the Shark", which in TV slang is a turning point where a once great show goes downhill, could mean that this third brother isn't really a Winchester after all. However, Matt Mitovich of TVGuide.com reported that John knew about Adam and even visited him occasionally. John kept Adam's existence secret from his other sons. That sounds very much like John to me. This, plus Jake's "Winchester" hotness and the seeming cast prerequisite of a "J" first name initial (see Jensen,Jared,Jeffrey,Jim) makes the claim of him being a third brother very real. Director Kim Manners Has Died - http://www.supernaturalstation.org/113...
Sad news. Kim Manners, one of Supernatural's standout directors passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2009 after a battle with lung cancer. Kim Manners was director and executive producer of Supernatural and has been with the show since it's first season. He directed some of the most memorable episodes, including my favorites, Shadow, Devil's Trap, Mystery Spot and season four's Lazarus Rising. He also had a long and impressive career behind the scenes in the television industry, directing such notable shows as the X-Files and the original Charlie's Angels. Supernatural was fortunate to have this experienced and talented man for four great seasons. Goodbye Kim. You will be sorely missed. - Supernatural Station
Super sad - always noticed that many of the X-Files episodes that I loved were directed by him. - James Hull

A couple spoilery tidbits about Supernatural was published over the past week that may be of special interest to fans. The first is a holiday gift/promo video of the first 3 new episodes of 2009 that was released by the editors of Supernatural. The best of the 3 was last and is a can't miss for Dean fans. Hehehe...it was inevitable that Dean's "I don't do shorts" quip (from 1x02-Wendigo) would come back to haunt him and he'd end up with his knees bared. You can read about this "gift" at TVaddict.com or just view the video at www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gFeQRECRqM. The second spoiler comes from a recent interview with Misha Collins. In the Beginning - A Review - http://www.supernaturalstation.org/106...
Supernatural Season 4, episode #3. Airdate: Thursday October 2, 2008. Written by Jeremy Carver. Directed By Steve Boyum. Praises: Supernatural has been remarkably good this season and this third installment was no exception. In this mythology-heavy episode fans got a satisfactory wrap up of the mystery of Mary Winchester, Sam's big secret was finally revealed to his brother, and the yellow-eyed demon was back to add yet another layer to the story. Plus we got a few humorous moments, lots of Dean angst, a scary scene, and even some classic rock. What was missing was the much-loved Winchester brotherly moments. Surprisingly, this did not detract from the episode too much. Although Sam was AWOL, his story was front and center throughout. ... Nags: The most noticeable problem with this episode was the overly Dean-centric nature of it. Sam was only briefly seen in the beginning and though he was mentioned throughout, the sparsity of scenes that he appeared in was unprecedented on... - Supernatural Station
Misha Collins Sizzling Supernatural Debut - http://www.supernaturalstation.org/105...
The newest regular on Supernatural is causing quite a stir in the fandom. Misha Collins plays the part of "Castiel", the angel responsible for Dean's release from hell. Misha Collins appeared for only a few minutes at the end of "Lazarus Rising", but his character's part in Dean's resurrection, his dramatic, effects-laden debut scene, and his acting was so outstanding that he became an instant hit with fans. When I googled Misha right after his appearance in season 4's premiere episode, I was surprised to find that there is not much information about him on the web. I and many Supernatural fans are clamoring to learn more. Fortunately, he has responded to numerous requests for interviews from TV insiders. Here are a few links to the recent articles about him on the web. Warning, some interviews contain spoilers. Lazarus Rising - A Review - http://www.supernaturalstation.org/104...
Lazarus Rising Supernatural Season 4, episode #1. Airdate: Thursday September 18, 2008. Written by Eric Kripke. Directed By Kim Manners. Praises: Supernatural's season 4 premiere finally arrived and I was blown away. I already knew Dean would return, but Kripke managed to surprise me with the story anyway. There was plenty of drama, some good comic moments, tense moments, and a little gore. There was no real scares, but this episode's three big shocker scenes more than made up for that. The opening scene was jaw dropping. With intermittent bursts of light like flashes of a camera, we glimpsed Dean in a world of blood, fear and noise. Then it was silent and pitch black and Dean was in a coffin. His struggle to speak and then break free was spellbinding. When he emerged from the ground and we saw the devastation around his gravesite...and that strange hunched back shadow he cast in the morning sun...that just wowed me! Amazing and shocking and one of Supernatural's best scenes ever.... - Supernatural Station

Supernatural and some of it's former stars has been in the entertainment news this week. And it's all good news!! Supernatural is nominated for 2008 Emmy for "Outstanding Sound Editing for a Series" The episode, 'Jus In Belo', is being recognized for it's superior sound editing. Personally, I loved the scene with Sam's [sexy] voice echoing over loud speakers, quoting latin. Good luck to Supernatural's sound effects geniuses: Michael E.
