Well, there must truly be a first time for everything. I bought a Squier. A CV Telecaster Custom. And it's a phenomenal guitar. I love everything about it.

Squires can be great--I've sat and played 30-40 of them and you'll run across one that's magic.

That's very true Rob. I worked for a couple music companies and set up A LOT of imports over the years, and every once in a while, I'd grab one and the notes would just blossom. Sometimes I'd think real hard about setting them aside. Also, I think that whatever factory it is, they tend to take these "Classic Vibe" models a little more serious than the Affinitys.

Squier guitars can still come out golden. there was a model (i think it was called the 51?) a few years back that was mostly excellent. no idea why they discontinued it.

I certainly think if a Squire is "too" successful, and they see it affecting Fender sales, they put the kibosh on it.

I bought it because it adds video to the 3G. Doesn't launch as fast as the native app, and the digital zoom is a digital zoom, so it sucks.

Ah, OK. I had always used Cycorder on the 3G (jailbroken). Hadn't been able to find anything that would do it at the resolution Cycorder did it at.

I've just finished repairing the internal tubing, and bought 12 feet of vinyl hose from Lowe's. In the process of adding a "speaker in" to my amp, then we'll fire her up and see how it goes.

i've owned a couple of talk boxes (both Heil) in the past 3 decades, but i got rid of the last one in the mid-90s. IIRC, The Bagman is pretty classic.

Ok, I found it a little far fetched you didn't know what a talk box was, but I wanted to be careful. This thing is GIGANTIC, btw. Easily the largest pedal I have ever owned. By a large margin. I'll have to take a pic that shows scale.

Tough to know what is in there. Apparently they decided to shoot the cavity full of insulating foam to protect their trade secrets? Or a previous owner was insane. I'm at least the 3rd owner.

the insulating foam is probly in there to prevent rattling in the metal case. there's nothing to hide in a talk box cos it's a pretty basic animal.
