Simple simple simple. Hardest part for most people would be picking out fabrics if they didn't get the Moda pack.

Yes, it's simple. I made a variation of this quilt with one charm pack and solid squares. It look an little less than 2 hours to complete the quilt top. Because you finish the top so quickly, it makes an excellent quilt to practice appliques.

Nice case study of taking an old white paper and repurposing it with video to reach a new audience. Would love to see more examples of how this is being done.

"Yes - I guess I keep forgetting to mention that, don't I! The lick test was done before I ever gave it to Paisley or it got rolled in the grass, much and who knows what else in my yard. :-)"

"Heee. You were in Dallas, after all. I'm not sure we really get the average person. But we do get silver spoons. I was a little sad in general that there wasn't more Dallas-specific stuff included. Like, what would change everything for Dallas related to transportation? Or do we really think the Trinity River would change everything? (It better given how much we're spending.) Who are the people changing things in Dallas and why weren't we hearing from them? Granted, this could go back to short time frame, but it couldn't have been that tough to find a couple of them. Even if they were the stock ones like the food bank or Komen. (Nancy Brinker would have been a kick-butt option.) Granted, there could have been limits placed on local organizers from TED that dictated a lot of what happened there. Overall, just not as inspired, entertained or intrigued the TED brand usually promises to be."

"Did you look at some of the tweets that are counting toward that fail? Some of the are "HSBC sucks" variety, but many were about HSBC providing bad economic news or were actually neutral. Not sure exactly how they're doing the pass/fail, but it looks like it's time for a review. How a tweet saying that HSBC dominates as the biggest mortgage lender gets marked "fail" I don't get. (Not denying your argument, but there's layers here, onion girl. :-)"

Funny graphic representation of how poor communication between clients, designers, consultants (unsurprisingly) leads to a poorly designed product. Awesome!

Great reminder of why people dig their heels in and resist new ideas, no matter how great they (or their potential) are. Good checklist to ensure you aren't knocking down an idea for one of these reasons.

My fave is definitely the last one about singing out loud. Now I know why I enjoy chorus and just singing in general so much!! (The sex suggestion isn't bad, either. :-)

Have discovered just how powerful that "invisible resume" is over the past year. Things that are just me apparently have played a huge role in getting me where I am, far more than my resume did. Liking this.

"Well, we always said we'd throw a big one when the remodel was finished. Which is hopefully just another couple months from now as we wrap up small projects. Hmmmm. I'll let you know. :-)"

Penn posits that getting better answers starts with asking better questions. Goes with what I've been reading about asset based thinking of late and the changes made in my own life over the last six months.

Shannon Paul reminds us what the strategy is for social media and that we need to think about it every time we start something new rather than just fall back on tactics.

"Actually, you can sign in with Facebook or Twitter as well now. Which is pretty sweet. Was glad when they added that because I know having to sign up for something new is a pain. But I love the threaded comments ability of Disqus. Now if I just had enough comments to thread. :-)"

"Cool! Glad to hear you're applying for this. Megan is great to work with (and I expect special treatment if you get it. :-) (But seriously. "Pretty interesting"? I'll have to work on that.)"

"After more than a year on Twitter, I still don't get the mentality that anyone's a jerk for not following back. Even if I love you as a person in real life, that doesn't mean I'm interested in what you're choosing to talk about on Twitter. So how does that make me a jerk for not following you back? How does this not fall under the Quid Pro No you talked about a few weeks ago? No reason that shouldn't apply to your Twitter account as well."

Great points Susan. Just went through my followers this morning and was really shocked to see all the 'see my nude pics' in the bio. Uh, no thanks and happy I had my settings to auto follow turned off.
