Android gave them over a 2 year headstart to get an app developed for the platform, it even could have been a paid app and made them some money. They ignored. So Google had to go and make an app for us, that is free, and that is better than Magellan/TomTom/Garmin. Here we are a month later, and those companies stock is off 30%. Silly companies.

Google Maps Navigation is impressive but I still thinks that Navigons MobileNavigator for iPhone is better. Not free though.

Even with these added features, I still am not seeing the benefit of Google's Friend Connect, other the blogs you follow being placed in Google Reader

I can't see any benefits either, but there is some cool widgets that we can use though, like commenting, recommending, popular posts and some more.

True, but if you use something like Disqus for your blog comments, then does it really matter? In the beginning, I thought it would have more of a benefit than Facebook Connect, but I will have to say I was wrong. FB Connect is more useful now than Google's. However, I think that if they continue on this path, Google Connect could start being useful.
