Yeah, I'm not out to impress anyone either. It's just fun. - Morton Fox
hells yeah. - Josh Mings via twhirl
I also liked the point you made earlier that in Twitter, there’s a definite caste system based on how many followers you have, i.e., the more followers you have, the more important you must be. That’s non-existent in FriendFeed, people just want to converse, no one cares how many people are subscribed to you. - Shey
On Friendfeed, you can converse with people even if you don't follow them, as long as the conversation is all on the same thread of comments. Twitter doesn't make that easy. That's one difference. - Morton Fox
It's true. Twitter seems pretty competitive at times. FriendFeed is competition free. Well, other than competition to be the wittiest or smartest in a conversation. Haha. - Andrew Dobrow
Friendfeed is great for the nearly zero upfront commitment. Import things you are already doing, and comment on things with your ideas. As silly as it may sound, it's the democratization of the internet. I'm triple Z list, I have yet to launch my own personal bastion of web presence, and yet I can interact with really interesting and noteworthy people on an hourly basis. I'm sold on the FF kool-aid for sure. - Mark Trapp
What Mark says is exactly the point. You can interact with some very intelligent, thought provoking people, without having to be a name worthy of being dropped in a conversation. - Andrew Dobrow
If I relied solely on Twitter to converse with A-listers, I might as well be twittering with myself (and I need no computer/mobile for that!). I like - no, appreciate - the fact that here we can view and converse with "friend of ___". - JC unwired
Jcun, true. FriendFeed builds the networking aspect right into the framework. It's my opinion that if you think FF is solely effective for the A-List, that you're doing it wrong. - Andrew Dobrow
This is so true. - Eric Florenzano
In fact, this post is exactly an example. I am not an A-List'er, yet the feedback is tremendous on a social level. - Andrew Dobrow
I'm really enjoying FriendFeed just because I participate, that being said I crave more followers! - Geoff Schultz
You know Geoff, FriendFeed is really more about how many people YOU follow. It makes things a lot more interesting. - Andrew Dobrow
The solution to data portability? Stream everything to FriendFeed :-) - Andrew Dobrow
@Andrew It was really in jest. I really do agree with you the majority of the fun is in who you follow. As far as people I'm following, it's a work in progress! - Geoff Schultz
So many interesting people to follow, it's almost overwhelming at times! In a good way. - Andrew Dobrow
As much as I love FriendFeed, and would love to see more people join, I sometimes worry that I'll miss the interaction I've had with the smaller, more intimate group of early adopters. Conversations are getting bigger and bigger, what hope does a non A-lister have once a Scoble or Arrington has a 1,000 "friends" here? When do my comments simply become more noise? - Vince DeGeorge
That's a great point Vince. And that is where the competition to be witty and intelligent comes into play. Of course if you make a comment (such as the one you just made) that is a contribution to the conversation, it'll be noticed as useful, and not noise. On Twitter, important contributions are less likely to be seen, at least that's how I feel. - Andrew Dobrow
@VinceDeGeorge @AndrewDobrow - wow... awesome conversation... love it! Vince nailed it on the head.. what happens when our nice quiet tea party erupts into a massive crowd like you see at the mall during Christmas! Yikes! here they come! - Susan Beebe (Santa Claus)
This thread is exactly WHY we need FILTERS and GROUPS to control our convos in FF - Susan Beebe (Santa Claus)
