To your question specifically, as @Mashable’s grown you’ve aggrandized & annexed territory over reaching beyond sufficient networks and to answer you question appropriately if you serious and in asking what you can do to improve in my own eyes, we gotta do this in a manner more appropriate than a FF thread. So i Ieft you my info at mashable.com, lemme know, I am severly curious and interested to see now what you think, and yea my apologies as to what I said. Yikes, maybe I should tone down my profanity? Ummmm, nope. I'm never getting married. Article goes on: "The survey is a follow-up to a similar study in 2009, which found 20 per cent of petitions cited the social networking website. The company discovered the most common reasons where Facebook was named in evidence included: Inappropriate messages to members of the opposite sex Separated couples posting nasty comments about each other Facebook friends reporting spouse’s behaviour. Twitter, meanwhile, only featured in 20 of the 5,000 petitions examined by the website. Divorce-Online spokesman Mark Keenan said: “Social networking has become the primary tool for communication and is taking over from text and e-mail in my opinion. “If someone wants to have an affair or flirt with the opposite sex then the easiest place to do it. “Also the use of Facebook to make comments about ex partners to friends has become extremely common with both sides using Facebook to vent their grievances against each other." - sofarsoShawn from Bookmarklet

"Pirate Wi-Fi" On NYC's Subway Not Just For Hooking Up With Hot Strangers
"There's a secret mobile network being tested on New York City subway cars this week that could pave the way for far more than anonymous hot straphanger hookups. It's happening on certain cars on the L Train, the favored line of models, style aficionados, musicians, artists, and others zipping between some of the city's hippest neighborhoods (and other stops not cool enough to get into in this context). "The L Train Notwork" doesn't actually connect them to the World Wide Web, but it seems that way at first. Instead, users are linked to fellow riders in a chat room, plus webby-looking visual and literary content curated by the digital agency WeMakeCoolSh.it. "Smartphones let you do almost everything over Wi-Fi, so why do we still have to use up cellular minutes when making a call? "Facebook's new Timeline, currently in a limited developer release but set to be unveiled to its hundreds of millions of users any day now, is going to shake up the social networking landscape. It's going to bring lifestreaming - formally a geeky activity based around RSS feeds - to the mainstream. In my view, Timeline is the smartest and most significant thing Facebook has done since launching a developer platform in May 2007. I think it's that important. So where did the inspiration for Timeline come from and why is it going to be such a big deal? We can see the future just by looking at two earlier lifestreaming products: FriendFeed and scrappy start Memolane. Steve Jobs once famously said, quoting Picasso, that "good artists copy, great artists steal." Sure enough, as with most game-changing things on the Web, Timeline is not an original invention by Facebook. Although Timeline wasn't directly stolen from anyone, it was clearly influenced by FriendFeed and Memolane. - sofarsoShawn from Bookmarklet
"One of the strongest inspirations for Timeline came from within Facebook itself, in the form of a startup it acquired in August 2009: FriendFeed. Co-founded by Bret Taylor, who is now Facebook's Chief Technology Officer, FriendFeed was a social media aggregator that was much beloved by Web geeks. Why Are So Many Tech Titans Ignoring Google Plus? - Forbes ~ cuz it's, in all honesty, kinda boring
"Congratulations, Larry Page. You are officially the most popular person on Google Plus, the social network your company launched four months. As accomplishments go, that’s a little like winning the limbo contest at your own bar mitzvah. But there’s a bigger problem: It seems you might only be winning because no one else in your peer group is playing the game. To get to No. 1, you had to edge out Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, who, in a nice irony, sprinted out to an early lead in the G+ popularity derby. Now you’ve surpassed him, with 601,000 or so followers to his 599,000 or so. But Zuckerberg is operating under a considerable handicap: His profile is totally private. No one he hasn’t “circled” sees anything he does. You, on the other hand, share all kinds of stuff. That sparked my curiosity. Sure, you’re an interesting fellow and all, but you’re hardly the biggest personality on the tech scene. iPhone 4S vs. the smartphone elite: Galaxy S II, Bionic and Titan -- Engadget ~ WANT
Now that we know how the iPhone 4S stacks up against the iPhone 4, let's take a look at how Apple's latest smartphone compares to its mightiest competitors on the other major platforms -- Android and Windows Phone. In Google's camp we chose the superlative Samsung Galaxy S II models (focusing on the announced US variants) along with the Motorola Droid Bionic for its qHD and LTE chops. We then picked the upcoming HTC Titan to bat for Microsoft's team. RIM's not included here since it's still stuck in the junior leagues. We left out the intriguing Nokia N9 because it's a niche player. Check out the fancy table after the break -- the results are pretty clear cut! - sofarsoShawn from Bookmarklet

In proposed merger with AT&T, T-Mobile customers win | BGR ~ #biWinning (bookmarklet'ed due to graphic :)
"While AT&T customers can clearly see the benefits of a merger with T-Mobile, customers of the company being acquired are having a difficult time seeing what’s in it for them. What will happen to T-Mobile’s current data plan offerings? Will handset releases slow down? How will this effect my monthly bill? The questions are plentiful and, unfortunately, many of them are unanswered at this point. Yet while the questions outnumber the answers, there is one thing I’m pretty certain of: whether this deal goes through or not, T-Mobile customers are going to benefit. When you look at the AT&T, T-Mobile deal from a very high level, it looks like a disaster for customers of the latter company. AT&T, a carrier with higher plan prices and more money, swallowing up a smaller rival with more competitive rate plans and an impeccable customer service record. The company that was once dissolved into pieces for its market monopoly in 1982, is slowly beginning to put the franchise back together. It’s... more... - sofarsoShawn from Bookmarklet

Bing's search engine share continues to rise, while Google drops marginally | CNET
In February, Microsoft's Bing continued its slow but steady rise, grabbing a slightly higher chunk of the U.S. search engine market, according to data released Friday by ComScore. Among the three top search engines, Microsoft's share of the search market rose to 13.6 percent, up half a percentage point compared with January. In comparison, Google lost two-tenths of a percentage point but still dominated the market with 65.4 percent of all searches in February, while Yahoo's share stayed flat at 16.1 percent. - sofarsoShawn from Bookmarklet

Google to Launch Major New Social Network Called Circles, Possibly Today | Don't give up do they: wave & buzz
"We believe that Google will preview a major new social service called Google Circles at South by Southwest Interactive today. If what we've heard is correct, the service will offer photo, video and status message sharing. Everything users share on Circles will be shared only with the most appropriate circle of social contacts in their lives, not with all your contacts in bulk. Circles may be shown off at an event co-hosted tonight by the ACLU, an organization focused on privacy and the liberties it affords. It may not be a big public launch yet, but it's clear that this is a major product in the works at the very least. The service has been developed with extensive participation by Chris Messina, the co-creator of numerous successful social and software phenomena online, from BarCamp to Hashtags and much more. In another tweaking of their “interface to reality,” Facebook have further narrowed the range of sharing Internet content by discarding their share button. Henceforth, users will only be able to use the ‘like’ button to interface the web outside Facebook back into their profile. If you've got a working Gmail account, you might want to back it up every so often -- as many as 500,000 Gmail users lost access to their inboxes this morn, and some of them are reporting (via Twitter and support forums) that years worth of messages, attachments and Google Chat logs had vanished by the time they were finally able to log on. While we haven't experienced the issue personally, we're hearing that the bug effectively reset some accounts, treating their owners as new users complete with welcome messages. For its part, Google says that the issue "affects less than .29% of the Google Mail userbase," engineers are working to fix the issue right now, and that missing messages will be restored as soon as possible. We'll soon see if this is a momentary setback... or a lengthy wakeup call. - sofarsoShawn
Update: No fix yet, but Google's revised its estimate as to how many users might have been affected by the issue -- "less than 0.08%" -- which means we're probably looking at closer to 150,000 individuals, rather than 500,000. We're assuming that the revised estimate means that the initial count wasn't precise, and not that customers are ditching Gmail in droves. Update 2: Google's... more... - sofarsoShawn

#Microsoft is the plague: #Nokia stock drops 14% as 1,000 employees walk out ~ "...Nokia bends to pick up the soap."
"First Tunisia. Then Egypt. Now Nokia. The twittersphere is again afire with buzz about massive protests. They're not political this time, but the outcome could be just the same. Can Nokia CEO Stephen Elop survive the revolution? Nokia employees aren't responding well to today's sweeping deal with Microsoft. They're mad, as they should be. A few hours ago I called the agreement, which swaps Symbian for Windows Phone as Nokia's primary mobile platform, a "silent takeover...If I were a Nokia employee or investor, I'd stage a revolt." Apparently employees and shareholders are doing just that. Investors punished Nokia shares with a 14-percent decline. Meanwhile, about 1,000 employees walked off the job, using flexible work-hour plans to do so, apparently protesting Nokia's deal with Microsoft. There is plenty of Twitter buzz, unfortunately too much of it in Finnish (Hey, my second language was Latin, and I'm rusty at that). But the reaction I can read is absolutely chilling. Exclusive: Nokia's Windows Phone 7 concept revealed! -- can I hear some a meh..."mehhhhhhhhhh": downgrade anyone??
"Look what we've found! This is the first image you'll see anywhere of the early fruit of Microsoft and Nokia's budding new partnership. We have it on good authority that the technicolor phones on show are conceptual devices produced by the two companies. You shouldn't, therefore, go jumping to conclusions about retail hardware just yet, but hearts should be warmed by the familiarity of Nokia's new design -- the shape of these handsets is somewhere between its recent N8 and C7 Symbian devices and there is, as usual for Nokia, a choice of sprightly colors. The trio of keys adorning the new concept's bottom give away its Windows Phone 7 ties, but also remind us that the N8 and E7 are highly unlikely to receive any WP7 upgrade love. The best part about this whole discovery, however, might be that it confirms Steve Ballmer's assertion that the engineers of both companies have "spent a lot of time on this already."
