WOW Factor for Mac OS X - 5/10. This is what I think after using it for 2 days. I have used Windows all my life so I am still learning but the good thing about the OS X is it's simplicity.

Overall, I have found the learning curve not that bad. I find less configuration options, means less confusion and less things to worry about. The configuration options available are the ones that are critical for the application compared to micro granular configuration options available under Windows and it's app.

Simplicity and precision works! Apple has proven this with their products. The product can still be simple and make user efficient in getting the output. Safari Browser : - I am really trying hard to give it a go, but it's not as cool as Firefox neither do I find it more friendly. So I will stick with Firefox as the main browser on the Macbook for now.

for file sync try Dropbox. cross platform should be ok and it's free. Programs I install on all my macs and can't live without: Quicksilver (launching apps and sooo much more), Textexpander to save lots of typing, 1password for password management, pathfinder (finder on steroids)
