"You basically got the jest of what I was trying to say. I wanted to put up the videos and say as little as possible so people can compare and contrast for themselves. But you got it. I find it odd the Daily Show treats Bush and Cheney as these "dark" and evil forces but Ahmadinejad is simply called "insane" or juxtaposed to a comically evil character Mini-Me, who are never really poses a serious threat. So the only thing I can offer from that is that Bush and Cheney are the evil people and Ahmadinejad is no serious threat."

"Oh come on! You are not really going to argue that Andrew Sullivan and Perez Hilton are some type of conservatives? That is laughable. I'll admit that Sullivan agrees with conservatives in one or two issues but it stops there. For the most part he overwhelming agrees with the left."

"I am a Christian. However, my stance on gay marriage has very little to do with my Christian faith. Keep in mind there are Christians on both sides of the issue. My Christian faith says adultery is a sin and we have not made adultery illegal. To me the issue is the redefining of marriage. We have plenty of legal restrictions on marriage. Remember gay marriage is not the only restriction we have on marriage by long shot. I don't want to tear down these restrictions because it makes me feel good and tolerant. I also don't want marriage being named a "Constitution right" for heterosexuals or homosexuals. Marriage is NOT a Constitutional or civil right and shouldn't be labeled that."

"I think we should keep marriage between a man and a woman. If we redefine marriage we will have to include other groups too not just homosexuals."

"I miss President Bush already. I'm glad he is no longer take part of the ugliness of D.C. It's funny how people continually called him "divisive" but he showed such class and graciousness in his final days in the Oval Office. I wish our new president the best. I hope he is like predecessor in that he follows what is right and not opinion polls."

"Excuse me but have you ever been to San Antonio. Several bases are there. It has a huge Air Force Base! I live in Corpus Christi and we have a Naval air base here. And excuse me but Virginia just turned blue this year. It was close. Don't expect to be blue every election. Also Southern Virginia (where Virginia Beach and Norfolk are located) usually votes Republican. And that is real stupid joke about Galveston. They just went through a devastating hurricane."

"Yeah, but they are public officials. You can say almost anything about public officials legally, of course. See New York Times v. Sullivan."

"Hey scottw, The video doesn't show what the question was they asked her so I'm not sure. Don't you think there is still a more tactful way to say she doesn't represent me than "She's in a skirt and that's about it."?"

"I know that courts are more lenient to satire. However, these are private people not public officials, which means they have lower threshold to prove slander."

"I understand what you are saying. Actually, when I first read it I took exactly the way you did. However, when I reread it (perhaps that was my mistake) the quote didn't make sense to me. I still can't reconcile the contradictory ideas that one can fervently believe that God is a something made up in people's minds but also be open to the idea that God does exist. Plus, I think Maher is just as vicious and dogmatic as Dawkins, Hitchens, and all the other New Atheists so if he's trying to distance himself from them, he's not doing a good job."

"I actually like Joe Biden. It's really sad that in our current media politicians can't speak their mind like he does without being lambasted if they make a mistake."

"Very true. Plenty of heterosexuals are against Prop 8. However, don't you think voters should know exactly what they are voting for? The ad says absolutely nothing about same sex marriage. The ad almost makes it seems if you vote against Prop 8 you're voting against all marriages."
- Terry Ann Rendon
"Thanks for commenting Mr. Rall. You might not believe these things will actually happen but that doesn't mean you don't want them to occur. I've read some of your opinion pieces and have seen your cartoon, do you expect me to believe that you don't want President Bush jailed?"
