“From John Zogby: Some 57% of Americans ages 18-29 have passports, up from 42%in 2004. This age group has a less nationalist view than past generations and is less loyal to US goods.”

I have almost no loyalty to US goods...I'm loyal to quality first, cost second and nationality third. Nowadays there's almost nothing made that I think should qualify for Made in the US anyhow. The current definition of "most" of the parts being manufactured here is way too loose for me. You want to put Made in the US on your stuff? 95% of the components (not raw materials) should be made here. - Alex "Maverick" Scoble
couldn't give a flying frak about "US goods" which are rarely actually 100% US anyways, excepting maybe produce. - Michael J. Cohen (mjc)
Who can name something that is made in the US without looking anything up? All I can come up with is Craftsman. - Shawn Kirsch

How about search as well, either regular or semantic... in fact, everything semantic should be taken off the table until someone shows a case where the cost of doing it is less than the value created. - Jason Carreira
Jason, there is a difference though: people use search, there's at least a potential market there, unlike social browsing which is limited at best - Duncan Riley
no press is bad press .. is that right? - Travis Parsons
There's a market there... it's just saturated by a $100 billion monopoly - Jason Carreira
agreed. social browsing is not a company. Its a feature in a service like FF - Capn' "One-Eye" Longman ☠
Well, it needs to die just as much as "creating yet one more tech-centered blog". See what I mean ? - Xav
Agreed. Who browses anymore? - Kevin
Social browsing that requires too much effort needs to die, easy services like the newly public Socialbrowse need to be promoted. - Shawn Kirsch
I haven't used a single one of those services myself. - Morton Fox

"I love finding new links to great reads online, and I like knowing about them as fast as possible, and as EASILY as possible. I also don't want it to be too hard to share something, especially if I'm the first one to share it. SocialBrowse makes it amazingly easy to share, and I have a steady stream of new links, if it looks interesting, into a new tab it goes, and I'll read it when I get to it. When I share, I place it in a category, and that's it. No tagging, no description write up, that's it. If i could narrow everything down into the 3 best sources I have for great content that I wouldn't have found without sharing it, they would be (in order): Socialbrowse, Twitter, Mixx." - Shawn Kirsch

"Congrats guys! It appears that you had a very successful first day public, notably because unlike most other web 2.0 sites, you stayed up AND responsive. It got really hectic for me for a few hours as I struggled to form a blog post, share links, and welcome/add new friends, but got it all done eventually. Hopefully with the influx of new people, we'll get even more activity, making this an even more dynamic place. Keep up the great work!" - Shawn Kirsch
