It is true that it's unique. The only problem is that a lot of blogs now use Intense Debate or Disqus to power their comments leaving less users for regular WordPress comments. Nevertheless, I am using regular WordPress comments on my other blog (http://tweakfit.com) so I'll experiment with using this plugin on that blog.
