"We hated Bauhaus. It was a bad time in architecture. They just didn’t have any talent. All they had were rules. Even for knives and forks they created rules. Picasso would never have accepted rules. The house is like a machine? No! The mechanical is ugly. The rule is the worst thing. You just want to break it. “This exhibition brings together over 400 works by some 100 teachers and students of the Bauhaus that reflect the extraordinarily broad range of the school's output, including architecture, ceramics, costume design, furniture, graphic design, industrial design, painting, photography, sculpture, and textiles. A selection of these works are represented on this website, along with a historical overview of the school, its workshops, and faculty.” —Bauhaus 1919 – 1933: Workshops for Modernity, through January 25, 2010 at Moma Related: Josef Albers Atley (307 views) Filed under bauhaus, avant garde, modernism, oscar niemeyer Also,"

SML = small medium large. My avatar is part of my Circles series. See http://www.flickr.com/photos... The circles have 3 layers: 1. Inner circle: Base / Core / Interior / Internal 2. Middle circle: Bridge / Transformation / Transition 3. Outer circle: Exterior / External / Public Facing The colors have specific meanings in each, while following a specific general scheme.

In the case of my avatar, magenta = design, yellow = technology, cyan = marketing strategy. i.e. design at core, transformed through technology and experienced as reflection of marketing strategy

minimalism: digest, reduce, minimize to its essence. The Yale education was good. It felt really odd then. But it grows on me everyday

Yeah you're super talented, my graphic design knowledge goes as far as the auto smart fix
- sofarsoShawn
auto smart fix? What do you do anyway? I can't really get a good read from your friendfeed / twitter tweets. fyi I'm here on LinkedIn if you want to connect http://www.linkedin.com/in... - I am always looking for talents for potential collaboration.

LOL I mean the Adobe photo shop button (auto smart fix) that does it automatically or that magic wand thingy in iPhoto, thatès the extent of my graphic design expertise, oh & the black and white button ~ but cool we can make a graphic novel like 300!!

"Gestalten has scouted out the amazingly fresh Hungarian talent Aron Jancso to release his first commercial font Ogaki. Instilled with traits typical to calligraphy and graffiti, Jansco has created an experimental display typeface that is simply sublime and delicately extravagant. The font is available in four weights Poster, for use in large point sizes to create headlines for editorials, posters, logos, and CD covers, Text for setting smaller texts in smaller sizes and their respective Outline versions. Create punchy statements with Ogaki in a variety of languages with our different language packages Ogaki Standard, Ogaki Central European and Ogaki Pro which includes both the latter packages."

" Translation: Turkish (automatically detected) » English really very beautiful and interesting --"

@sevdenur Glad you like them. On behalf of Bechira Sorin, thank you!

@See-ming Lee: I really have to use this translate tool! Like the "automatically detected" :)
- Véronique Rabuteau
@Véronique Rabuteau Yes it's awesome. And if you use Google Toolbar it automatically translate page. The problem is that if you've got a mixed language page it won't translate the foreign languages automatically. btw, if you use something enough, http://google.com/translate_t also pulls it to top of list. Interestingly, because of my frequent turkish to english translation, it's auto placed to top ever since I started using FriendFeed... :)

http://flickr.com/people/mil3n bio: " Hey! I'm Áron Jancsó, freelance graphic designer from Hungary. I'm a type addict. Building from scratch is how I like to work, sometimes even designing every single letter of a poster. I prefer shapes and sctructures instead of effects. My style is a blend of modernism, street culture and callygraphy, but it is also very experimental, I'm always searching for new ways of creation. My favorite areas are typeface, identity and poster design. I'm available for work! Feel free to contact me with anything on your mind! mil3n.lfs@gmail.com Greetings!"

Bought it today, even if I was really pissed of that you couldn't TRY it in any Mac shop here, in Hong Kong. Crazy. "No demo mode, sorry laa". I forgot how HK could be frustrating for consumers...
"It's a visual celebration of values strategically painted on the business end of the working man's chariot. Not always beautiful, but undeniably awesome."

Very cool... I've been contemplating making my own for Moosicorn... i.e. dedicate a switch to a plug right below it... with conventional switches... this is much sexier.
- SAM
Issues though... doesn't look US compatible and doesn't look like it would fit typical large adapters (which is what I would find it most useful for)... thinking I'm going with the dedicated switch again... love the design direction though.

"This is an illustration of how two gay men can possibly live together in a NYC studio apartment. I did this in 2003 with my second husband. Obviously, it requires a lot of planning using Adobe Illustrator in typical SML fashion. I don't make a lot of money so we decided to go with IKEA furniture. Scott, my lover at the time, had a lot of designer furniture from Philip Starck and the like so it's a clash of expensive+cheap modern furniture. They actually work quite well together. Unfortunately, I do not have any photos of it that place. When you spend *that* much time in a tiny place, the last thing you would be doing is to take photographs of it also. Easter Eggs If you zoom in you will see my nip and a hint of broad chests on the taller guy (Scott). The illustration is drawn to scale. I can't help but inserting a bit of fun on my everyday living."
